Lovely place on the edge of Rochdale to pop into for a breakfast, whether you're staying at the nearby Premier Inn or just passing by. I'd recommend the all you can eat full cooked breakfast option and just take your time relaxing for an hour. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Plenty of free parking, just register your car registration when you get inside.

We stayed two nights in the premier Inn, which included breakfast 🍳☕🍞🥓 I have to say the breakfast was excellent. You order off the menu and it is freshly cooked and delivered to your designated table within a few minutes. The coffee ☕ is excellent, The staff are very attentive and the service is excellent. We also decided to book an evening meal which didn't disappoint at all. Cooked to order, it arrived piping hot and was delicious 😋 I highly recommend the breakfast and also the restaurants evening meal selection. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have eaten here a few times, it is a nice restaurant and we usually always enjoy the food just the odd occasion where we haven't but you dont know until you try different food wether you like it or not, would be nice to see some more dessert options, when we went recently we ordered the dairy milk sundae and it was missing the flake and the dairy milk chocolate pieces they did replace it with only a few chocolate buttons but it wasn't as nice as it has been previously when I have ordered it. I had a couple of cocktails which were really nice and overall we enjoyed our visit. We usually go a couple of times a year usually for a birthday meal out so we don't go that often. I would definitely recommend going and they recently have a couple of decent offers on to save some pennies. The staff are lovely and are always checking in, and there is parking on site they also have a Premier Inn next door if you was looking to stay over.

The mixed grill here was excellent. Every meat done just right and high quality. The chef apparently is known as "Doo". I photographed the food late as I was too busy eating it.

This is a nice restaurant for a family meal or catch up with friends. The menu is varied with lots of different food options. Unfortunately there were a few things unavailable at time if visit. Food was well cooked and had nice flavours. I had the veggie hotpot and triple chocolate brownie which I can recommend. Our waitress was friendly and helpful but one of the waiters wasn't so friendly. There is a large carpark with 3 hours free parking.

Was good choice to eat here while looking for somewhere to eat dinner.. the food is very nice and the staffs really lovely

From my visit here I discovered that either if you’re a young couple or just a couple then your custom will not be appreciated if you eat here. Big tables seem to be looked after but not us. We walked in all was fine but got sat down and didn’t take our order for atleast 20 minutes (thought nothing of it even though it wasn’t really busy). Then when we ordered our lasagnas we politely asked if we could swap the salad for chips as on the menu a salad is more expensive than chips however the lady serving rudely said “you’ll have to pay extra for that”. Charming! Anyway went on to order and then waited about 30 minutes for our food which was very nice however they forgot our onion rings. When I told the lady about the onion rings she rudely said “alright” and went and got some. Slammed them on the table and no apology for forgetting them. I had already made my mind up about the place but then after we had finished we waited for atleast 30 mins for plates to be cleared as we were wanting desert. (They never came) so we paid and left.

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch, and everything was lovely. The food was super, and we were served by Katie who was cheerful and friendly. We have visited several times in the past, and as always we leave satisfied after a good experience. We are already booked in for our Christmas meal.

It took two and a half hours for two courses. We had to prompt waiting staff to take orders and clear the table of empty drinks and plates. I can only assume they were short staffed this evening. The food is as expected, not bad, not great just about value for money if you get one of the offers. Overall it's a nice pub and the staff were friendly, we may have just been unlucky.

The food is hit and miss. This is by no fault of the restaurant, more to do with what the Head Office tells them to serve on the Menu. Service is good to excellent, one or 2 issues over the time we've been going, however the staff have always done everything possible to make it right. All in all, it is a lovely little place to eat with the family. I recommend dining here whenever you feel like a quiet night and good food.

We had a family birthday celebration in October. There were 28 of us and everything was perfect. The food was served hot and promptly, everyone was eating at the same time. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. We all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. A wonderful family get together that will be fondly remembered for a long time to come. Well done to all of the staff we will definitely be recommending and visiting again soon.

We all really enjoyed the day. Everything was very smooth and everything came very quickly. It didn’t feel overly busy which was nice, we haven’t eaten out on Christmas Day before so was unsure what to expect. The staff were lovely and happy to say it was Christmas Day. The food was also really good and we enjoyed it. You certainly didn’t scrimp on the portions. You had Christmas music on, it was easy to ask for drinks and they came quick. It was a lovely atmosphere all together. Thank you!

Lovely lady serving us. Great sense of humour and treated us (and the young family at the next table) as if if we were the best people she'd met all week. Sunday roast was perfect, and my triple pie thing was just great. Thanks.

Had a lovely stay next door for 6 nights and ate here most evenings..food was good and stuff were attentive..had the breakfast on final morning, which was superb 10/10

Food was beautiful, I had the hot dog with a side of onion rings, oh my God! Gorgeous. My Aunt had the smothered platter she ate all of it she said it was superb. My other Aunt is a very small eater she had the soup and a Roll , and our friend had the Chicken and Mushroom pie, she said it was yummy. Then for sweet I had sticky toffee pudding and custard 😋 , one had caramel apple Betty and custard, another, jam Roly poly and custard and the last had a profiterole surprise nothing was left on any bowl or plate Well done Chef

Nice food , just the porción of potatoes for me a bit too tiny. Burger good and the starters ok. Nice offer dinner and breakfast for 24,99£ let's hope the breakfast tomorrow morning us as good as the dinner, I surely recommend having dinner here

Very handy for Premier Inn next door. Tasty food, portions not too large, great customer service. Gemma who served was excellent and remembered my preferences from previous night. A great example of good customer care. The menu has the calorific value of each meal which was handy. I recommend the sticky toffee pudding ( 577 cals)

Very dated decor, ornaments full of dust, tables sticky!! Toilet not cleaned. Feels quite cold environment unfortunately be good if felt welcome other than priority to restock bar, gluten options would be good, hope to see improvement.

Steak gristle Burger not very warm chips overcooked and all we got from the waitress is it 40 degrees in the kitchen and we get a lot of steaks with fat it was not fat it was gristle. Attitude at till needs updating on customer service. If people don't tell you what's wrong you can't put it right. We will be giving John Milne table to table a big No No

What a brilliant first experience we had at John Milne. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. I asked to be seated out of the way and they gave us the perfect table. The atmosphere is fantastic and so chilled out. The food was delicious, being vegetarian it's hard to find good food at restaurants. I honestly can't say a bad word about this restaurant. I will look forward to returning with my family. Thank you for having us.
