I just switched to Oakland when I had a bad experience with my previous dentist. Oakland Hill got me in right away when I explained I had a recent root canal and needed to get my permanent filling and crown. They were so kind from the beginning. Dr Shaheen was so kind and listened to my experience as well as provided great dental care. The office staff also took the time to review my dental benefits with me as my previous experience had used most of my benefits so it was going to be more expensive than I initially thought. Rather than just go ahead and let me be surprised by the bill, they reviewed all of this with me and presented a couple options so I could save money and not break the bank. I thought it was really cool that the front desk and the dentist were involved in this conversation so I got the expert with insurance and the expert with my teeth. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist in the area!

Recently had a cleaning with Shelby here, great experience.friendly knowledgeable staff. I think I waited 5minutes to be called back, I was in the office ahead of my scheduled time. I didn't feel rushed or anything, the Dentist was knowledgeable and not trying to sell anything extra to me that was not needed. I would highly recommend this office.

Dr. Shaheen and Dr. Holecek are wonderful - (I have been to both). Their assistant (Camilla) was top notch as well. Helpful front office folks to go along. Our family has found our new dental home.

Dr Holecek has been my dentist since the 70s at his Detroit office! That obviously speaks volumes as to his skill and character. I have seen other dentists as situations changed but they just did not compare. So glad to be back! The staff is just as amazing...very friendly and highly competent. It's a very well-run practice and I feel most at-home here. I'm extremely happy to have reconnected with Dr Holecek and I hope he never retires!!

Had a bad experience with this office. After moving I choose this office and the first choice to try because not only do they list that they provide Implant services on sight here but I also called to inquire and they confirmed they are an office and provides implant services. So I booked my yearly Hygiene and let them bill for the X-rays which they insisted on taking and must be done to do the cleaning first. After my cleaning the doctor notified me he does not perform implant procedures and they send people to an oral surgeon, while he just deals with restoration and crowns. So now I had used my insurance for x-rays for the year with a doctor who misinformed me on his capabilities to actually provide care. After this I still took my daughters here for cleanings and just figured I would try to make it work and chalked it up to poor front desk help and communication. Well my children got their cleanings done here. A few months later my daughter got a sliver stuck in her mouth right before school and was crying and saying it was going to bother her all day. So we made an appointment to have it removed here. The dentist who saw my daughter said he couldn't see anything and it would come out on its own. He did absolutely nothing for her. She went to school had to feel it all day and I had to manually remove it with tweezers when I got home from work. Worst part, they still billed me. After this I notified them that I was unhappy and didn't think they were the doctors for us, I told them to send over my X-RAYS and I would pay them their fee for doing nothing for my daughter. They claimed because of hipaa I have to sign some weird secured file download and never sent the x-rays but a weird e-mail in which I followed the instructions to still recieve no X-rays. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

I went in to Oakland dental care for an emergency tooth infection a few weeks back. They were the only office able to get me in the same day so I decided to try them out. I had low expectations for an office that could do same day (within an hour of me calling) but when I went in the staff was so friendly, prompt, and professional. I saw Dr. Shaheen and he and his assistant were so friendly, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Their “bedside manner” made me feel so welcomed and we talked about everything from teeth to gardening to Ted lasso to our puppies. We literally laughed throughout an appointment where I was in some of the worst pain of my life. They didn’t sugar coat what was going on, but explained it in a way that made me feel comfortable and they reassured me that they had a plan, and we would fix it with no pain - they were right. Since that first visit, I’ve been back a few times for a crown, X-rays, and a deep cleaning and every single member of the staff has been so wonderful and kind. The receptionists have given me all the information up front about my insurance costs and options to let me make the best decisions about what I’d like to tackle first. Even before my deep cleaning the other hygienist Ms.Tracy, came in and introduced herself and reassured me it would be an easy process and she had me. They even had someone in training and the way they explained things to her and really brought her into the process was impressive. In all the experiences I’ve ever had at any doctor or dentist I don’t think I’ve ever had a better one. I can’t recommend this office or team enough, they have been outstanding so far. It’s clear that their entire team is very special and I really appreciate the experience I’ve had there so much!

I have been a patient since the days of Dr. Brooks and would not consider changing. The staff is always friendly and up to date on the latest technology and procedures. Keep up the great work.

Great experience! Dr. Shaheen did a wonderful job on my implant crown and the girls in the office are great! Definitely recommend!
