Today, I celebrated my 42nd birthday at Mitchell’s! Everything about this visit was AMAZING! I arrived before my reservation time & before my guests and I was seated immediately. The food was perfect! My waiter was caring and made sure our every need was met. I highly recommend Mitchell’s!

Mitchell's Fish Market was delicious. We ate lunch here. The calamari was light and flaky. The soy based sauce was a bit salty so a little goes a long way. The Shanghai sampler and the seafood americana were good. Portion size are a bit smaller. This is a great place for good seafood with an Asian flare.

I dined here in April, absolutely amazing food. I loved the calamari we had for our starters. Some of the best I've had in ages. However, service was a bit slow. The place wasn't packed, but it still took a while to get our entrées, and even our drinks. Otherwise, lovely place with delicious seafood and top shelf drinks. Lots of parking, great location, ample seating.

Crispy shrimp appetizer was excellent. Fish and chips were also excellent but the hush puppies were burnt. Overall, a very nice meal!

Like everything else these days, short on staff so service was a bit slow. We were seated right a way since we had reservations, but took almost an hour before we were asked for drink orders. The staff on duty were great and I would never blame them for a situation that is beyond their control. Now, as for the food, those in our group had sea food and found it great for which I'm very happy. They really know how to prepare and serve sea food. If like me, you have not liking of that type of food, don't order the New Your Strip, it was not good. The sad part was, it was a great cut of meat, it just tasted burnt. For the price I was not pleased.

Very disappointed that last 2 times. This was a restaurant that I could always go to for a great meal. Definitely needs a major overhaul. The restaurant was not busy. We had to wait 10 min after being seated for someone to acknowledge us. The other person I was with wanted the Cobb salad but instead of sea food wanted chicken. The waiter made it seem like it was a huge hassle, so we both chose the crab cake. It was mostly breading, red skin mashed was cold. Waiter never came back to ask for refills. Even the menus were greasy with food on one of them.

Attentive staff and delicious food. A bit expensive, but then again you get what you pay for in life. The CRISPY CALAMARI appetizer is worth the extra money. I had the FISHERMAN’S FRY (flash-fried fish, shrimp, sea scallops) to be able to sample various proteins. All was cooked well. The scallops were fewer than I preferred but again delicious. Shrimp was excellent. The fish was over portioned in my opinion with 3 fillets. I actually only was able to finish 2. I would have preferred to trade the extra fish fillet for 2 scallops. And if you want to truly taste an amazing dessert, then go for the carrot cake. Get a single slice for the family - it is huge and a true delight. Again, the waiter and staff are super friendly and attentive. What you would expect from an upscale eating establishment. Treat yourself and your family, visit this restaurant.

I enjoyed myself on my dinner date. The food was hot and fresh. Our waiter, Terry was awesome! The manager checked on us to make sure everything went smooth. The lobster was flavorful and tender. My partner had salmon and shrimp it was really good.

We ordered Oyster and crab cakes for a starter. They came back 10 min later to let us know there are no oysters. When the crab cake came it was one and a small bed of reheated frozen corn with peppers in it. The crab cake were moist and mushy on the inside and tasted like tuna fish. That cost me $18.90 😳 I saw other people had bread and butter so I asked for some. It was a soft loaf of sourdough bread that came with soft salt free butter. Not a fan. Dinner was a little better but not for the price. We ordered two meals to spilt a dual lobster tail (the only thing I liked here). Asparagus was cooked perfectly and the smashed potatoes and lobster was great as well ($45). We also ordered 1lb King Crab legs and it was very low on meat and they gave us a giant knuckle which also had very little meat in it ($80). The meat was very chewy needless to say I probably won’t return here. The place was very clean, and customer service wasn’t lacking that’s why they get 3stars.

My experience at Mitchell's was superb. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. Nick was our server. Nick was really attentive. His energy and attitude were great. When we ask lots of questions, he never ever seemed annoyed. Our food & drinks were absolutely delicious!

We asked for a booth but were seated at table #65. The table is much to close to an area that the staff congregates around. The server was nice but extremely slow. Had to ask where were the drinks that we ordered…about 15 minutes. Then had to ask for bread. Entree’s were ok but nothing special. Scallops were grainy. Salmon was burnt around the edges. It is very seldom that I post a review like this. Normally top 25%. Only tipped 18% and that was generous

We have eaten here twice now. On both occasions the food and service has been good. My wife has gone with the salmon each time and really enjoyed it. I have tried both the trout and the sea bass. Both are really good with my preference being the sea bass. Our waitress on our first visit was good. Our waitress (Teri) for our second visit was outstanding. We clicked with her right away. She had a great sense of humor and provided great service. We also appreciated that a few of the managers popped over periodically throughout the meal to make sure that everything was up to our expectations. It is a nice quiet atmosphere on a Tuesday evening for date night. And based on the service we will be returning.

Mitchell’s has a great menu; I love their salmon! My only complaint is that the food isn’t as good when taken out. If you want a delicious, high-quality dinner, be sure to eat in the restaurant instead of ordering take-out.

I made a reservation for 4 people at 6:00pm on 11/03/2023 using Mitchell’s website. I received a phone call from someone at the restaurant on the day I had our reservation and they wanted to confirm we were coming. When we arrived a few minutes before 6:00pm, the table was ready and there was no wait time. Our server was Bob and he was great and continuously asked if we needed anything during our entire time there. He even apologized saying he doesn’t want to keep bugging us but he did a great job, no complaints about him at all. We ordered some margaritas and a Calamari appetizer. The drinks were really good and so was the Calamari. Try the Millionaire Margarita, it was excellent! Three of us ordered the Sea Bass Shanghai style and substituted the spinach for asparagus and one person ordered Mahi Mahi Shanghai style. All four of us were happy with our meals and it was excellent. We split the bill two ways and it was $120.89 for two people not including the tip. I recommend this place and don’t have a single complaint about anything related to this Mitchell’s Fish location.

The seafood we ordered was good. It was my wife's first time and she wants to come back. The service from our waiter was great but the busser that was literally running through the restaurant to clean tables was a little off putting. He was working hard but it wasn't busy and it got old after it happened a number of times.

I came in to order some appetizers before my main. I ordered six oysters and shrimp cocktail. When the appetizers arrived The shrimp was super slimy that it left goo and residue on my fingers. The oysters smelled and had foam on top of them and were stuck to the shell. I am never one to not pay for my food . so I asked for my check and discreetly put the food aside. The bartender which mind you was absolutely amazing her name is Kristy. Asked me about my food and why I was not eating it I told her I still wanted to pay for it she said absolutely no and went to the back to help get it addressed and then taken care of. The manager ended up coming out to me. Told me I must not know about eating oysters, shined a flashlight on me and then proceeded to shine a flashlight onto the oysters while tapping them with a knife and telling me that I did not see foam but I was looking at the shell while he was tapping it. Whether or not I have experience in eating oysters(mind you I do) that entire experience was extremely demeaning, disrespectful, and very off-putting. I’m not sure who this manager is but I hope he reads this and thinks definitely how he treats customers. I want to add one last note that again the bartender was absolutely amazing and I’m thankful she was there

We used to go to the Mitchell's in Birmingham and had fond memories of meals there. We had dinner on a Sunday evening in Rochester (Hills?). When I made the reservation, I mentioned that we were celebrating a milestone anniversary. The young man on the phone said that something special would happen because of that. It didn't. The service was very slow. Our waiter was polite and pleasant and we waited long periods of time in between his appearances. We wondered if he had tables in other sections because it wasn't crowded where we were. My husband's halibut had some kind of seasoning that was extremely salty. I had a steak which was perfectly cooked. It had some kind of shrimp topping which would have been tastier with less salt. Perhaps our memories of the first Mitchell's had raised our expectations. The 5 stars were the result of flying fingers. The food was a 4. Our calamari appetizer was delicious, as was the lobster bisque. The service was a 3 at best.

Loved the clam chowder, lobster bisque, seafood Americana, mitchell sea food trio, spicy crispy shrimp and creme brulee!

November 2022 - I ordered the Cod from today's fish - catch n create. I did the cod grilled with potatoes and greenbeans. It was very good. For someone who does like fish, this was really good. Overall a nice place and worth trying if you are in the area.

We had a great experience this past weekend at Mitchell’s. We went out for my wife’s birthday and had a wonderful meal. The chef came out personally to make sure our dietary restrictions were observed. He took the time to make us feel welcome and was extremely courteous. This place really cares to make people feel welcome and to create an awesome environment
