I've been going here for over a year and although the place has a lot of potential to be great, it just isn't. For the price of membership, it should be FAR cleaner and the machinery should be up and running, atleast most of the time. Instead, place is always super gross; I find myself having to fully clean the machines before use, *especially* the cardio equipment. The spots for phones/water bottles often have trash left on them for days at a time and are always covered in dirt, dust, sweat and who knows what. I dont think cleaning staff ever cleans them tbh because its like that every day, no exaggeration. Also, the floors are FILTHY, literally all of the time. Straight up dust bunnies in the aerobics & locker rooms. Equipment is often broken for lengths of time. It also gets soooo busy there.. the location would benefit from being much larger considering how many members they have. I honestly would not recommend a friend to pay for membership here. The only reason I continue to go is bc its close to my house and the only other option besides World Gym, which is super outdated.

I made an appointment to see about becoming a member. I was impressed with how clean the gym was and how new the equipment looked. I was also interested in the classes they offered, especially yoga. The reason for my 2 star rating is because of the treatment I received from their sales and training team. I repeatedly asked about the additional cost of all the extras they were showing me, mainly the personal trainers. They said they would not answer my questions until after I became a member. Their website also states that I would be receiving a one on one workout with the tour. Again I was told that they would not provide me with the one on on until after I signed regardless of what they website says. If this kind of thing is not an issue for you, then by all means give it a try. For me I expected better treatment and didn’t feel this was a good way to start out with a new gym. This was just my experience and opinion. One last thing that amused and shocked me is that the infra-red sauna is currently unavailable due to a lawsuit against LA Fitness. Great sales pitch. Just a quick follow up. Because of my post LA Fitness reached out to me and said that they would have the area VP reach out to me back when I first posted this review. I was beginning to think that I might give them a try again, but I never received a call from anyone.

I was considering joining the East Ave gym after speaking with Justin last week. He was very kind, listened to me when I spoke, and made me feel very comfortable. All of these qualities had me considering joining this gym when I was ready to switch. I am no longer considering this gym after my experience today. I spoke with Tim, a manager, who was extremely condescending and pressuring. He said that I was bumming off my friend’s guest passes a would not listen to me after I said no to joining today repeatedly. This was all over the free three day pass and I felt very uncomfortable. This interaction lasted for 30 minutes. I would not sign up for this gym.

Very glad I checked this out! I’ve been too a ton of gyms in the area! Just replaced their sauna! Juice wave smoothies after! All equipment is updated and for the price of what you get in the club, you can’t beat it. Kyle Hooked me up

Jalen and Jamar and the morning staff were very accommodating. A super clean and awesome gym. I visit Rochester once and year to see family and love coming to this gym. There is a large array of equipment- both cardio and weights and plenty of room to get your workout in.

This gym used to be the nice but in the last few months has gone downhill. The sauna has not worked since august, the showers and bathroom areas are dirty, most of the benches have ripped fabric, when a machine breaks it isn’t fixed for months. Additionally they have instituted rules that are not consistent with other LA fitness locations. They charge and extra 10 dollars a month to use the towels, something that is a free service everywhere else. They also do not allow bags on the gym floor. Not sure if it is just mismanagement or what but this gym is not “signature”, is it actually the worst LA fitness location in the Rochester area.

If the amenities such as the sauna and steam are working, they are not working properly. Steam is usually down for months at a time and may only work for a few weeks. The men's locker room is usually gross. Showers will have gum or trash in them for days before it is addressed. Soaps in the showers might be filled, take a chance. Some staff is great a Others are rude and dismissive. Finally, a lot of creepy old men who expose themselves to you and follow you around trying to look at you in the shower. Needless to say "Signature" title means nothing except a way to charge more for less.

Very small work out area. Equipment and benches are so close you’re on top of each other. Steam rooms broken twice since I’ve been a Member…. Have only been here for a few months. Sauna was down for weeks. I hate coming to a place and not being able to use an amenity because it’s always broken….

After 3 months, I am already regretting it. The sales staff is less than transparent about costs when signing up, the men's bathrooms are always filthy, the dry sauna is down indefinitely (permanently) and the steam sauna is usually closed 2 days a week for "cleaning," because they apparently do not have a night cleaning crew like any other professional business, but now is it down until at least 2024 for repairs. I will soon cancel my membership and go elsewhere. Absolutely not worth it.

Been going here for ~4+ years and wouldn’t imagine changing gyms. Staff is super friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Special shoutout to Todd— ever since he started here I have noticed such a positive difference in the cleanliness of the place and it looks great! Also Katie and Claudia at the front desk are so sweet and genuine!

Good average gym for people looking to get in shape. The problem is that it's very busy and find myself waiting for equipment to use. All of the benches are bolted to the floor except for the ones at the smith racks. Then when someone decides to move one or use it to rest there belongings or phone on it or just plain move it across the gym so you have to go on an adventure to find one. Equipment is limited also attachments are few and far as well. I am constantly looking for handles or ropes. Luckily I go as a guest. I personally wouldn't join here I will stay at my gym, but not going to tell where I go so my gym stays empty. Most people who go to LA are just there for some exercise very few people who really weight train.

I normally swim at the Perinton location. Perinton is very clean. Perinton has a high staff turn over and the front desk people seem to be uniformed. But the facility is very clean and nice. I used the Rockwood location and found it over crowded, very dirty ... from the pool, hot tub showers, railings, doors, ,etc. Things were also rusty. Perinton gets 4 stars. Rockwood maybe 1 star.

I bought a membership for a gift and dealt with James! He was great! Promised to call me back within an hour and did and we know these days that is rare! Very easy transaction and he answered all my questions and worked with me. The recipient loves the club and is very happy!

There are two monthly hidden fees when signing up in person: one for guest privileges' and another to use all LA Fitness/E-Sporta locations. You won't see these until after you sign up. If you will use those extras frequently, great, but if not, be sure to tell them you don't want those extras. Other than that, this is a solid gym facility.

The club is clean, has plenty of wipes, nice staff, some very great fitness instructors too! Great clientele are also members of LA Fitness, and opportunities to make new friends!
