making my way through local spots and ended up here tonight on a recommendation. simply perfect. the fried green tomatoes were so good i almost cried. the pulled pork was tender and delicious. there wasn’t a single bite that wasn’t actual perfection. the service was amazing as well! excited to come back and try more of the menu.

The food here is amazing! I always order the beef brisket with jalapeño. It's always smoked to perfection! The sides are just as tasty! Mash potatoes and gravy. Baked macaroni and cheese! Need I say more? See my photo! You won't be disappointed. I recommend! The service has always been excellent at this restaurant. Tip: Park at the Court Street Garage about 1 block away. It's easier than finding street parking which is metered and limited sometimes. The one way streets in Downtown Rochester near this restaurant can be inconvenient and annoying!

I love this place and the food as well, first time i tried at the Syracuse and now this place. The aged beef was amazing and so was the chicken along with the sauce. I love the ambiance feel like as if living in some past time, had great time there. The service was warm and amazing again. Highly recommended ..!!!

Amazing! Great Pulled Pork and BBQ, and you get a lot for a decent price. Very cool interior, although it gets quite loud in there. Otherwise nothing but good things to say. Cheesesteak was brilliant and the bun was the best I’ve had in ages. Would give it a 9.5/10

Where do I start?!? The smell in the parking lot gets you salivating before you even enter the restaurant. Ribs were excellent, brisket was tender, chilli was amazing, and the wings were beyond fantastic. They’re smoked and then grilled…simply perfect! I’ve been to Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse and Buffalo. I must say, this one is my favourite!! Loved this place and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Some of the best mac & cheese I have ever had. The service is super quick and the food is absolutely worth the wait. You will have a wait on the weekend I suggest reserving a table online. Of all the food we tried, their chicken is the best. They also have a sweet tea.

Great location in downtown. My son says this is the best barbecue he has ever had. The ribs were falling off the bone. He loved all of the sides as well. I ordered the Impossible BBQ sandwich which was also very good. Prices were reasonable and the service was great. A definite must try when in the area.

I loved this place. The waitress was awesome, atmosphere was great, loved the music, & affordable prices for the amount of food you were served. My 7 year old son gave it 10 stars. So we are definitely coming back.

2nd time here. Had to try it again. It still bangs. Wings weren’t the same as the first, softer…but still flavorful. Love the ribs. Got the salad. Beers. Sweetheart dinner. Few drinks. Sat at the bar. Decent customer service. Cool spot on the river. Street/paid parking.

Haven't been here in a minute. Service was really good. The place was clean even with the hustle and bustle inside and out. The food was really good. Except how they plate their food. The 3rd plate in the photo looked like a slop. Had to ask the waitress to put it on the platter like in the photo. Once it came back out, it looked like 2nd photo. Meat was really good. Mac and cheese were good. Pasta could have cooked a little longer. Baked beans and fries were good as well. Except had to reorder fries. The first order was cold and soggy. Fried tomatoes app was on point.

If you love bbq this is the place for you! It’s located right on the river! Family friendly and a unique atmosphere. The brisket is a MUST. The fried green tomato app is also delicious but anything here is incredible. It’s a crowd pleaser for sure - especially with carnivores.

The food is ok, a little too salty for my liking. The portions are huge. The cornbread was my favourite. The interior is really interesting and the place was packed. Service can be a little slow but they do their best to accommodate you.

I came here for the first time with my son, husband and parents. We went on a Saturday at 145pm hoping to miss the crowd and had a 45 minute wait. We stayed outside for a little and then went to get a beer at the bar. The bartender was very rude. We got a table and our service was great. We got the brisket nachos and 4 entrees and a kids meal. The portions were huge and we have a ton of leftovers. Our bill was $115 which isn’t bad for 5 ppl with all of our leftovers. We will be back. I got Cajun corn and it packs a punch. The Mac and cheese was delicious.

I think I have found the "holy grail" of chicken wings! They are the best that I have tasted in my life both in Europe and in the Americas, the size is perfect and the flavor is very special, perfect, excellent and cooked to perfection. I will definitely return because among other things here you can find some unique and famous sauces that you can put to your favorite dishes of the 🦕 (such as the delicious ribs with the classic and delicious smoked or grilled flavor). My Yankees friends say there are people who come exclusively to Rochester to eat at the 🦕.

All I can say is WOW,,, our waitress Kira D. Was awesome, we had a party of 13, and she handled it above and beyond. Our appetizers came out quick, our food was on time and PERFECT !!! I ordered a half rack of ribs with Cajun Corn which is really good, I highly recommend getting that side or doubling that side and french fries with my order. We did not wait long to be seated, we were waited on perfectly, from hostess to our waitress and she was not mad that we asked for separate checks, Kira D. was highly attentive to all of our needs, she really rocked it. My ribs were cooked to perfection, french fries were good the cajun corn was really good, next time I am doubling that side, I highly recommend you try it out if you like a little spice in your food. From hostess to waitress we were taken care of and all involved went above and beyond to make sure our experience was nothing less than 100% perfect. We showed up when it was prime time around 5:30-6:00 and the restaurant was jam packed and we were taken care of,,, I have nothing negative to say at all. Kira D. The food was amazing! The prices were very reasonable considering that the BBQ just melted apart from being smoked perfectly. Our waitress was super nice and doing a great job while they were busy. It was noisy inside but it was great to see families having supper together. What a lovely time!

One of the BEST BBQ places I have had, super amazing! Loaded nachos, platter with ribs, wings, chicken, mac n' cheese, corn, and cornbread. ALL of it was AMAZING. Seriously, it would be hard to pick what to get next time as it was all perfect. Finished off with deliciously creamy NY style cheesecake. Bonus points for SUPER fun atmosphere and décor. Busy but we made a reservation on Google an hour in advanced and got in no issue.

Ordered the ribs and brisket combo. Both were tender and well seasoned/cooked. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone level. For brisket, I asked for the flat cuts, and they retained a very good amount of moisture. The price was also mid-range. Service was quick, though nothing too special. Overall, very good BBQ. Highly recommend.

Edit: Came back after 4 months and the food was just as good. It was Mother’s Day so the wait was 30 minutes to dine-in but it’s a better option that not having a reservation at all. The concoctions were also delicious. First review (2022): The best BBQ in town! Thoroughly enjoyed it and I would come back. The combo plate was enough for two people to share.

Good smoked BBQ with limited sauce options. Tangy with a touch of vinegar or a mango habanero that’s a good sweet heat. Portion sizes are generous and pricing is reasonable for such a unique dining experience in downtown Rochester. We ordered the poutine and a pulled pork sandwich with Mac n cheese and a side of cornbread. The pork itself is good and doesn’t have a smoke flavor but just a good pork flavor; plus it’s super tender. The fries are fresh cut, and while they are generous with the meat, they were very stingy with the pimento cheese. My sandwich came with the creamy coleslaw and although a prefer a thicker cream coleslaw, it was good; especially with the mango habanero sauce. The mac and cheese was creamy but the pasta was undercooked and al-dente and didn’t have a good mouth feel. Cornbread is on the dry side but has a nice touch of sweetness to it; needed some honey butter to make it perfect. I think it was just an odd night based on pictures I’ve seen. Service was great and out waitress was very attentive. Food came out quickly and there was no wait on a Wed night. Parking is street only and limited.

This is my first time going with my husband, and I am absolutely blown away! He said this was great food, but I didn't expect how great. The menu has a lot of different items (highly recommend the ribs), the mixed drinks are a good ratio, and the service is top notch. I was welcomed as soon as I came in the front door and that level of hospitality continued through the whole meal.

Have been going to this place for years. Moved out of Rochester nine years ago but always try to stop by here for a meal. Usually in the mid afternoon to beat the crowds. Really can’t go wrong with anything. Smoked wings are excellent. And you won’t walk away hungry. Nice selection of beer and great bar area.

Really good portion for a build your own salad. It was delicious I just wished they cut up the brisket and bacon into somewhat smaller chunks so you can just eat the salad. This was the base salad (no radish no cornbread), brisket, thick bacon, NYS cheddar, and honey mustard vinaigrette.

I had the best time here! Danielle and crew were perfect? They cared and talked to me. They gave me perfect customer service and attention. This will be a spot I will always come to during a layover. But honestly the food was perfection! I died! We even ordered dessert ! I can't say say one bad thing about this establishment.

I traveled through Rochester for work and after finishing the job, I asked a local where to go eat. I didn’t ask for a specific type of food because I wanted to see what everyone loves here. He recommended Dino BBQ, and at first I’m thinking “Great, another BBQ joint” but then I remembered when a local makes a recommendation, often times, it’s a hit right on the nails head. And of course, that local was accurate, this is one of the best BBQ places I’ve been to. I travel in my camper all over the country and have tasted thousands of different BBQ places from LA to KC to DC, and this place trumped them all. Just wow. The cornbread is on a whole different level. I asked for extra pieces to take with me. The brisket, so tender you didn’t even need a knife. Their simmered greens in turkey broth was a much better alternative to your traditional collard greens in pork brine, at least for me. Their ribs, on point; smoky, tender and falls apart without having to use a knife. Overall, I was really impressed with the fact This quality of BBQ exists outside of the Southwest United States. Highly, highly recommend!

Delicious BBQ! The best ribs in my husband’s life. Anything smoked is delectable. Don’t sleep on the Mac and cheese, but be warned it has a kick! Cornbread is fantastic! The atmosphere is a backyard bbq! Service is fast and accurate. 5/5 highly recommend.
