It’s an unassuming restaurant tucked away of the road. It’sa busy road but it’s easy in and out. Plenty of parking. The food is fantastic. Tasty hot dogs with specialties such as street corn. Very generous toppings. Other menu items like Reuben’s and cheeseburgers. Comfortable dining area.

Have been here a couple of times now and I would say for those vegetarians who want to try garbage plate, Dog Town will not disappoint you. Love their Veggie plate. Must try!

Excellent food! So glad I had the opportunity to try th3 Cheeseburger Junkyard plate. I was in Rochester 10 years ago and tried a few different garbage plates. The Stewart's Black Cherry was a great drink to go with the meal too!

Pleasant laid back atmosphere, very pleasant staff, even when busy. Food was as described in the menu, hot and tasty! Many choices avail, my suggestion is read the menu ahead of time! We enjoyed and early dinner on a beautiful evening downtown. The French bread my burger came on was huge, but incredibly soft. The sparrows enjoyed it as much as I did!

Good food, small parking lot. Been here a bunch of times over the last few years, service is quick, food is good. Its definitely a different type of place to eat so its hard to judge compared to anything because there really isn't anything like it in this area. Definitely a place you have to eat at at least once.

Always a delight at Dogtown. Eclectic menu where all the hot dog varities are named after dogs! Awesome place to get a garbage plate too. The inside is small but filled with adorable pictures of customer dogs on the walls. Best "hidden" gem in the city imo. Parking is a little cramped during the busy hours but well worth a wait or walk!

I lived in Rochester for 6 years and I can’t believe I missed this place while I was there. Stopped here during a recent visit and was blown away. They’re allegedly one of the “Top 10 Hot Dog Joints In America,” though I have not fact-checked that and I don’t plan to. True or not, the food is incredible. I’m particularly impressed by their commitment to having great vegetarian and vegan options. You don’t really see that at many hot dog joints. Don’t worry, meat lovers: they have everything you could possibly want. But they also have everything non-meat lovers could possibly want from a place like this. And it’s ALL delicious, meat and non-meat alike. It’s small. Seating and parking can be difficult if it’s busy. If it’s nice outside, the outdoor seating has a relaxing vibe. In my experience, the staff was as friendly and accommodating as their diverse menu. There are so many great places to get food in Rochester (probably the #1 thing I miss about living there). I’m glad I discovered this one I missed before and I’ve already recommended to others outside of this review where I recommend it to YOU.

I’m from out of town and came here to experience Rochester food culture in the form of Zweigle’s red and white hot dogs. My expectations were surpassed by both the quality of the food and the friendly service. On my third visit (in a row!), I decided to forgo the gluten-free bun and was delighted to find the hot dogs were butterflied and plated beautifully. Everything is made to order, many of the menu items are homemade, and there are veggie, vegan, and gluten-free options. Patio seating, easy parking, and a coffeehouse next door make for an overall delightful experience. The owners are passionate about their product - and wonderful people as well - and it clearly shows.

came here for the true rochester experience, and i was not disappointed. it’s hard to take a photo of a garbage plate and make it look great, but boy was it good. if i had come in 20 minutes later i would have struggle to find a spot to sit. it was fun to eat and see the place fill up with locals coming for lunch. i would definitely come back.

Of course I love Dogtown. One good reason is that it's a great place to sample another version of the "Garbage Plate" while only Nick Tahous can use that name, many area restaurants have their own version of the plate. They use Zweigles hots, but also make burger plates, and have many other menu items, including a large Veggie menu. It is a small place, so save your crowd for good weather and outdoors seating, but don't let that keep you away from some very yummy well made food.

The names of the food was adorable. Loved all the pictures of dogs all around the place. It was a little small in side but the food doesn't disappoint. Would recommend and will return when in Rochester again

Had the "split" junkyard plate (light on the "everything" topping). Delicious, not greasy, just perfect. Much better than the one I had at a different "historic" establishment last year, which was my first time trying it. Cashier who took our order was friendly. The place was non-stop busy, however I waited just 15 minutes for my to-go order. Look forward to returning here!

This place is considered very local for Rochester residents. I went there with my friends and family, and we had their famous "garbage plate"! The food was good and the servers were very nice and friendly. There is plenty of sitting inside and outside so you can enjoy your time while having your meals. If you're visiting Rochester this should be on your list to visit. Give it a try, you may like it!

Absolutely amazing experience at DogTown just now! It was the lunch rush on the Christmas holiday week and they handled it perfectly!!! The food was impeccable, service immeasurably good, and just the whole feel of the place exuded happiness and fun. I have been going to DogTown for probably 14 years now and it is easily in the top contenders for best plate in Rochester as well. Do not hesitate to give it a try and make it a staple on your regular restaurant routine!!

Great little hole in the wall place. Amazing variety of specialty hot dogs and garbage plates at reasonable prices. Serving size of garbage plate was huge, a real plate full of food. Service was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great hot dog or garbage plate!

I LOVE Dogtown and they have been my favorite plate spot for years now. But, I went there last night to get a plate for my birthday. I don’t know if it was because we ordered 2 plates or it was the extra meat sauce but the to go containers ripped on the way home inside the bag. Grease through the plastic bag and they leaked onto my floor mats. You’d think that when having such a messy menu item you might have special to go containers just for that item. Doesn’t need to be plastic or anything like that because I think what they currently use is biodegradable or something. Which is awesome but, I’d like to eat my meal from the container I ordered it in or at least have enough time to move it into a dish. Might be helpful to put foil down or some sort of liner to keep things together. Should mention both ripped at the bottom.

Was recommended this place for what I was told was the best garbage plate in Rochester. I was not disappointed. Although small and busy, staff are very nice and friendly. A must try if you’re in town!

The place is cute with ample indoor and outdoor seating. However, it took about an hour to get the Cheeseburger plate. My brother ordered the same thing and got his 20 minutes sooner than me. By the time I got mine, he had already almost finished.

We came here on a Wednesday afternoon after a trip to Niagara Falls… we had 2 kids, 3 adults and a teenager. The menu has a fantastic kids section… lots of different hot dogs… great tasting fresh ingredients, awesome bread, fries and onion rings were perfect. Nice and clean inside, lots of outdoor seating and parking. They also have an extensive vegan menu… highly recommend eating here!

Definitely a must do “garbage plate” comes with hot dogs, Mac salad and home fries with “everything”. It was delicious. Didn’t think I would like that combo but it was great!

This will be a for sure stop anytime I am in this area. My wife intoduced me to the garbage plate when we first got together & thats when I new it was real. All the greatest things on one plate, just doesn't get any better.

Was stopping in Rochester so I figured I had to grab a plate. There was a surprising amount of parking and the ambiance and decor were very fitting. Service was friendly, fast, and accommodating. Food came out very promptly and they even brought it right to me! If you like garbage plates, this is the place. Otherwise, they have the classic burgers and dogs. Overall would recommend 4.4/5 -BJ

I came up to Rochester for work and everyone told me I had to get a garbage plate and everyone said Dogtown had the best. I haven't had any other plates but I'll have to say that this was pretty good. Nice, quick service. Lots of parking and easy to get to.

Such a nice place to hang out, the staff is incredibly friendly, and they have a nice outdoor seating area (and some tables indoors but a little less space there). This place is literally dog-themed! Including the menu item names, dog photos on the wall, and the dog-friendly outdoor seating area. The staff seem to love dogs too :) I came on a Monday when it wasn't busy. It's also not far from the 11 bus

Super small place and can be very crowded at times. Makes incredible garbage plates and unique hot dogs. Out side seating is great when the weather is nice. Some say this is the best plate in Rochester!!

Coming from out of town I was recommended Dogtown for a vegetarian plate experience. The menu is split evenly between meat and veg options, the vegetarian experience is not diminished in any way - down to the chili! Dogtown doesn't use simulation meats, so the menu is good for vegetarians who want more than the "fake meat" experience.

What a great experience! Went for their vegan menu, the staff were nice took time to answer questions being that it was the first time there. It was busy, and I see why. Ordered the garbage plate and portobello plate - both were packed with flavor. I will be visiting again.
