Exactly across from the St Mary's side of the Mayo complex, this terrific restaurant offers an interesting array of entrees & heavenly desserts. Also a complete coffee bar. Their chicken-orzo-spinach soup (on special the day I was there) was particularly amazing.

One of Rochester best places for breakfast. Has a great location across the street from St Marys hospital. Walk out the North entrance to access easily on second street. Parking options available too. Full Menu and bar area. Meals have a home cooked family feel. Coffee is good too. Breakfast prices are most economical meal there, as with most restaurants- but this one is delicious too. Don’t forget dessert. They have a bunny cake that’s is their most popular dessert. It’s a white cake, with coconut. I’m not a fan of coconut and I like it. Generous sized desserts, you can actually share. Staff are helpful and kitchen crew are used to making meals adaptable to special diets while staying in town attending appointments. Example used to making a dish without cheese, or changing the sauce to accommodate diet. They have nice to go boxes if you need to take with you. They even put in paper sack so you have a way to carry. Very helpful for the hospital patients visiting. Prices are reasonable and it’s a quite place to visit at night. Only complaint is the wooden vertical birch sticks as decorations- they are VERY dirty and dusty. It’s unappetizing to have to set by them or if you happen to be a immune compromised patient.

Fresh, simply prepared food. Most dishes have flavors that tend toward the mild side. Good selections that will please everyone. Creamy and cheese dishes maybe a bit too rich for some, but there are many lighter choices on the menu. Located just across the street from Mayo St Mary’s campus it’s very convenient for anyone visiting or working there.

Canadian Honker Restaurant is one of the best restaurants throughout the Midwest. I travel quite a bit for work and have had a long list of facilities that have filled me up. CH is in the top 3% for flavor, friendliness, fast and fair priced. You can't go wrong and you will go back.

So cute and quaint... we had a lovely lunch here. The location, service and selection was pretty good. Not exactly the run of the mill, but that can be a good thing. I had the breaded chicken on Mac and cheese. Then I had a chocolate milk shake to go. I couldn't eat the whole thing and it made yummy leftovers. The service was good, and I must say the Minnesota charm is a pleasant surprise. It seems more genuine than the west coast. They have Walleye sandwiches and main dishes too. That's their claim to fame but I wasn't in a fishy mood. I definitely recommend giving them a try. Enjoy and be well

Cassie at breakfast was so amazing. She always took great care of us. She was helpful with my dairy allergy as well as my gluten-free allergy. We really enjoyed the food and her as well. It'd be great if you had some sugar-free coffee flavors. Jeff was also amazing in the evening. He went above and beyond his job. Thank you so much both of you.

EDITED: Great staff, good beer selection, the chicken fingers and fried fish are truly better than anywhere else. From the welcoming staff to the high caliber food, outdoor seating, and great cocktail menu, this place is wonderful top to bottom and is amazing for a fun and casual date or for visiting with family and friends alike. Truly impressive and a very welcome establishment in Rochester. UPDATE: Holy cats, the sheer level of customer service for something special is truly, truly above an beyond. They truly know how to go the extra tenth mile for a customer.

Awesome experience!! Great and friendly service, by all staff. Perfect summer evening and so we ate outside on their sidewalk patio. Wonderful experience. Great family style, good 'ol Down home cookin' American cuisine. The food was outstanding!! I had the Golden Cheddar and Bacon Burger, which was so flavorful! With a side of crisp and flavorful onion rings. And to top it all off I shared a piece of the world famous and award winning coconut cake, which did not disappoint, moist, creamy, and oh so good. If in Rochester I highly recommend eating here!!

Highly recommend! The food is amazing and so is the service! I had a portobello mushroom sandwich with Swiss cheese on a ciabatta roll. My husband had fish and chips. He said the fish was perfectly cooked. Being from the UK he is always looking for fish and chips that are just as good as what he can get at home. He said this is it right here!

Great place for lunch. I have been here twice for lunch and it has been fantastic. Very friendly staff and great service. I had the Reuben sandwich today with chips. Great tang on the corned beef. Saw the peanut butter pie and had to order that as well. It was fantastic. Like every restaurant in Rochester, it’s a Pepsi account.

Great tasting food. Surprised how much I loved the simple onion rings - excellent. Service was a bit slow and the restaurant decor and everything seemed fine. Nothing fancy by any means but I'd still definitely come back

We ask around at the hospital where to eat and everyone said hands down the Canadian Honker restaurant is a must. It lived up to everyone's recommendations and was not a disappointment. Not fancy on atmosphere but the food and service was very very good. When in the area a must.

GO EAT HERE. Our whole experience was amazing. It was very busy but the noise level was tolerable. The cheese curds were amazing, actually ALL the food was amazing. Our waitress was super friendly and had great suggestions. It’s on the more pricey side, but worth it for sure. I highly recommend the dessert and wild rice soup!

We were absolutely delighted with our meal and sever (Michele) she was informative, pleasant, friendly and very quick. We tried the ribs and walleye dinners both delicious! Oh my goodness Bunny's Coconut Cake was out of this world! Thank you for being a great place to dine!

We were looking for Friday fish fry and Canadian Honker did not disappoint. It was a litter on the higher side of cost $26 but it was all you can eat and it included shrimp, choice of potato side and soup. I opted for the clam chowder and my son ordered salad. Batter on fish n shrimp was a good beer batter. My daughter had the cranberry feta wrap and seemed to enjoy it as well. We did opt for outdoor seating so I can not speak to the atmosphere as we only walked in to be seated.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. Fantastic service, social distancing with contact tracing upon check-in and a stellar menu. I was there during walleye season and the fish sandwich was sublime (no other fish sandwich will ever measure up!). The fish dinner was excellent as well including the au gratin potatoes. Let’s just say I put away several pieces of coconut cake during my two week visit to the Rochester area. Thank you!

HIGHLY recommend! In addition to delicious food, the customer service was absolutely phenomenal. We were offered the utmost kindness by the manager on duty who facilitated the delivery of a delectable warm meal to our hospitalized family member...we will never be able to fully express our gratitude! Wish we lived closer to this exceptional dining experience!

Awesome restaurant. We visited back last fall and knew just where we wanted to dine while visiting again. Both times was very pleasant, food was delicious right down to desert, servers and waiters very nice. I had the ice cream off the apple crisp due to a diet restriction my mom had for the evening and she shared part of the crisp with me which was actually a full plater of crisp so this picture is not an actual serving.

My first time here, I was waiting for my second appointment at Mayo. The waiter, Adam, was charming and friendly. He served me well and was patient with me. The latte ☕ is yummy and my order was delicious. I ended up leaving with a piece of coconut 🎂 😂. I am happy that I had a great experience here.

We flew into Rochester for an upcoming surgery at Mayo Clinic and wanted a yummy meal - comfort food specifically! We found that and more at Canadian Honkers! I had the sirloin, onions, scalloped potatoes and salad…. My husband had the Bacon Burger and our some the kids cheeseburger which was so nice! All of the food was amazing!! Perfect! And the service - top notch! The following day, Memorial Day we went for breakfast and the pancakes and French toast were amazing!! They also had a special table set up set up in memory of all fallen American soldiers - a POW - MIA ceremony table as well as their servers wearing a patriotic button down shirt. Very classy and kind and the food! Run to Canadian Honkers - you will not be disappointed!

Highly recommend this restaurant. Pricing is affordable for the best food I've had in 47 years of living. There Portabella Fries are the most delicious appetizer ever. My wife ordered the beef open faced dinner and I ordered the smoked gouda burger and fries. It was amazing! Jack bought our curbside order out and he was very courteous and professional. This place comes very highly recommended again. Enjoy!

My wife and I were passing through Rochester staying overnight on our way to Redwood Falls. Situated across from the Mayo Clinic our Google maps got us there but the parking wasn't quite as easy to figure out? This yummy place to eat has a menu with something for everyone and the cost too. The interior has a fun design. The staff is helpful. We split a walleye sandwich that was super but had an appetizer before that was the fried Wesby cheese curds! Oh soooo good.

I came to this place entirely based on the name, and I'm glad I did! I wasn't sure what to expect, but this one is much classier than other bird-sound restaurants (especially the owl one). I had the Abbots Gold Bacon Cheddar burger and it was excellent. I also recommend the fried cheese curds. This is a northern delicacy that we simply don't have down south.

*Overal experience- Excellent food and portions but at a cost. Price is worth the food experience. Food is prepared very fresh and highly recommend the open faces roast sandwhich. *Quality and selection of food- Food is definately higher end versions of resyeraunt foods found in more common resteraunts with amazing twists. Some really good selection of beers. *Pricing- high but for what you are bergetting it makes it worth it *Cleanliness- superb *Service: Awesome experience highlight buy great service *Restrooms: clean *Bottom line: Prepare yourself for alot of great food. It not cheap. But awesome meal. Great for traveling and special occasions.

If you’re ever looking for a hearty meal in a comforting atmosphere, you’ve found the right place! Canadian Honker is a staple in Rochester, MN & is conveniently located right across the street from Saint Mary’s Hospital. I used to come here when I lived in the area, and I never had a bad meal. This place is particularly lovely in the winter, I used to love visiting on chilly nights for dinner. The staff were always so kind, too! Bunnie’s Coconut Cake is a staple, you have to try a piece when you visit!

Looks like breakfast is where this place may be good for, sadly we only had the lunch and dinner menu. Everyone was really nice and helpful. We ordered the hot turkey sandwich and it was huge. The bad part was the the gravy and turkey had a bitter and metallic taste. We also ordered the club sandwich turned into a wrap and that was pretty good. The inside reminded me of a breakfast diner and it was clean.

We have enjoyed dinner and lunch at Canadian Honker. The food has been bountiful and fresh, while the service has been friendly and on-point. We are in Rochester for care at Mayo Clinic, so it is fantastic to have a place in walking distance that is both nutritious and a great experience!

My eggs Benedict was perfection. Tasty and filling and perfectly cooked. The added diced potatoes made for a large meal that was overly filling-I couldn't eat it all. The iced coffee was delicious too. Other visitors at my table raved about the stuffed French toast and breakfast burrito.

Breakfast was fantastic. The staff went over the top to make sure we were safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. The American fries are cubed potatoes fried with onion and were fantastic. I ordered a slice to go and with tax. The slice is huge, easily shared among 2 people. The cake was very good, moist, medium in density, with a light not overly sweet frosting sprinkled with coconut flakes. The cake itself tasted similar to angel cake and I did not get a strong sense of a coconut flavor.

The food was good, worth it. I would not recommend the open-face roast beef sandwich, the bread was soggy. Their bbq special sandwich however was great. Staff was kind and helpful, especially for us "out of towners". They not only provided great service, but helped us find our way around town. Great place to go!!

Attentive, super friendly waitress that anticipated our needs before they needed to be requested! Wish I knew her name bc she deserves a shout out! Every meal was delicious! I thought I'd have their wonderful walleye, but caved at the last moment and opted for the fried shrimp. Fried shrimp is a gamble because it can come over cooked and greasy. This was perfect. I'm going back.

Don't miss their FRESH, fried onion rings or the fried cheese curds! We ate dinner here twice & came back a third time for the rings & curds & Honker Lager ( also great!). Burgers & prime rib sammie & parmesan walleye were all great. Pork chop & mashers - meh. Rings & curds? WOWZA!!
