Read a review that said they don't clean their floors...even under the garbage can gets cleaned! Great environment to workout, came around rush hour and it seemed pretty relaxed either way, the equipment i needed was available any time. Restrooms and exercise area was well taken care of. Good job planet fitness!! 👍

This place is terrible thanks to Keyla ! Well done Keyla for shouting at customers in the reception ! Very unprofessional , arrogant and full of attitude. She is rude and very inconsiderate. It's better you do your job and check the cleanliness of the female changing rooms rather than feeling superior and having your ego ruling you! Have a look at the pics I'm posting here, there's even blood on the floor in the females' changing room. As Planet Fitness motto " Leave Egos outside".... Not for Keyla !

I have been a member at Planet fitness , Rochester MN location for a couple of months now. Quite clean and well managed. Super convenient. But I have had a few unpleasant experiences with one of the junior staff member who came of quite rude and a bit self entitled. Two incidents caused this review ,first when I joined the gym and asked the staff member about the locker rooms , I got a very rude reply as If I was asking a stupid question (I have never had a gym membership before this and this was my first time ).The second incident was only yesterday when I went to the gym at 6:44 PM in the evening on a Saturday. I didn't realize that the gym closes at 7PM on the weekend. I was standing outside tapping on the glass as the doors were locked. There were people inside and the same staff member .He saw me and just kept chatting on the phone. I was confused and stood there waiting till I saw it the timing printed on the doors and I left. But the sheer lack of human decency and insensitivity shocked me. To see a person standing outside in the cold and not having the human decency to go up and and atleast give a short explanation about the timings shows self entitlement and immaturity . I would have never done that to a person .Would have cancelled my membership but hey its the most affordable gym in Rochester. 5 stars for the effort of staff to clean the gym 0 stars for that particular rude staff member Sensitize your staff PF.

I was automatically transferred from Fitness Evolution (upon closure on 12/4/2019) to Planet Fitness. I did not agree to this transfer nor was I interested in being a member as Planet Fitness. At any rate, Planet Fitness charged me on 12/16 for being a member at their gym due to the transfer. I was confused why I was getting charged as I had literally no heads up about the transfer (it came in the mail later in December). The same day I was charged (12/16), I went into Planet Fitness to cancel my apparent membership. I asked for a refund for my membership fee that was charged on 12/16. They gave me a slip of paper directing me to a refund rep for Fitness Evolution. They verbatim told me "The charge comes up on your card as Planet Fitness but Fitness Evolution still has your card info and they were the one who charged you." So I emailed the Fitness Evolution rep for the refund. Guess what she told me? (copy paste from the email): "Fitness Evolution transferred memberships on 12/4 to Planet Fitness. Any charges after that date will need to be presented for refund processing with Planet Fitness.." So Planet Fitness blatantly lied to me to get me to get out of the gym. I called Planet Fitness and the way the employee talked to me completely changed. He said that I signed an agreement with Fitness Evolution allowing them to transfer my membership wherever they wanted and that once any charge goes through its non-refundable. I asked nicely if he could show some courtesy and refund me for the 12/16 charges as I literally never stepped foot in the gym other than to cancel. He said no, and that he was REQUIRED to follow the Fitness Evolution contract. Really? He cant refund me 40 dollars back? At first they lied to me, then when I asked and put forth all the facts, they go to the legal contract and tell me to get lost. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT join this gym. They will do anything to get another penny out of you, have horrible customer service, and do not operate in an ethical manner.

If you want to use your black card perks (tanning. Hydrobed, massage chairs) don’t go early mornings. Workers are either hiding in various locations with headphones/ earbuds on or no where to be found in general. Very frustrating to be paying for these perks and not able to utilize them.

I canceled my membership 3-4 months ago, but apparently the staff there didn't do it right. So I've been getting charged for the last couple months while thinking it was cancled. Worst part is the manager said I just checked in last month, mind you I was in Italy at the time. This means that some shady staff memeber did not only fail to cancel my account but then gave it to someone else to use! While on the phone trying to explain that I'm out $80 after having thouhgt it was canceled, I have to go in and cancel my membership again! Just aboslutly pathetic customer service. Moral of the story, go to a different gym

Ok, so I love this gym. The equipment is great and the app I easy to use. It is probably not the fault of Planet Fitness but people are not showing up to work on time. Planet fitness could probably get by with just doing the scan entry at the door and then they wouldn't have to worry about this but 🤷‍♀️. I have seen 3 people leave without a workout already this AM. Unsure of how to respond to the post below, I will just add here so that you are aware, I did attempt calling the posted number, twice. The first time it just rang and the second time it picked up and line disconnected. Thank you.

Fitness Evolution was where we had our membership and they closed their doors, there was no communication to any members. Instead, they rolled over all accounts to planet fitness. We tried to call and “cancel membership”, and it has to a) be done in person and b) they will not refund a $55 dollar charge they ran our debit card on, despite us not signing any agreement and having any notification. Very unethical and wrong. A formal police report will be filed today. I expect more will be done as well.

Canceled my membership and still got charged for the following month since I didn’t cancel it before the 10th even though they don’t bill me before the 17th. Was very hard to contact someone to fix my problem which wasn’t fixed. Nowhere does it say that you have to cancel prior to the 10th. Very annoyed with the situation.

Never been to a gym and seen so many workers on their phones! They mine as well make this place like an anytime fitness. The employees will turn their backs to avoid having to greet you. Always get glared at when I walk in. All I can say is if you hate your job that much maybe find a different place to work? Gym is okay. Super busy around 5pm.

I have tried to cancel my membership as I completely moved out of state. They tell me either I have to either go there or send an actual letter by mail!!! I mean seriously??? I applied tor this subscription online and now I have to go in person to cancel. Sorry, but no this is a scam. I will dispute the transactions through my credit card. I did not sign up for a service that has this much hassle for cancellation. UPDATE: I emailed them and am waiting for response.

I just walked into the planet fitness here in Rochester. I travel for work. I am a member of planet fitness and have been for years. Because of this location I will no longer be spending money here. I didn’t have my key card so the manager Jasmine told me basically she couldn’t help me I would have to call on my own to get my key card. I get that. But the way she told me was very inconsiderate. Then since I informed her I wasn’t a black card member that I wasn’t able to transfer and upgrade unless I did it myself online. Very unhelpful. Very unpleasant experience. Cheap gym, with inconsiderate employees. They are supposed to be there to help you. Not make it harder for you to work out. Not one smile. Not a warm greeting. Actually had her back towards the counter for at least 30 seconds before she decided to turn around and realize 4 customers were waiting! And she’s a manager?! Unprofessional. Save your money and get real service!

The manager is a liar. The other male who works in the mourning is racist towards white people, the never police their rules they only cater to their friends or members they know. My brother inlaw almost was attacked by one of the lunke heads their friends with, said he was out for a week to my wife, and they ended up doing nothing....wow, imagine that. So, I gave it one star, which is the lowest rate I can give.

The people who work there are cheerful and friendly. There is a good selection of machines.

Clean planet fitness but came here from out of town and the treadmills are so shakey and I was getting vertigo just walking on them! I did switch to several different ones and they’re all super shakey and unstable.

There are a lot of people who go there, I joined because I was excited about meeting people. It is a great place to work out, but not social at all amongst people who are not in your group. People that go there never give eye contact with anyone. So if your intent is to work out and get in shape, 100 percent great place. If your intent is to maybe meet some cool people while your at it, that's probably not going to happen.

I have been a member for a few years now, and have really enjoyed this gym. I changed my rating from 5 to 3 stars, due to the apparent lack of concern over members not wearing a mask while working out. It's not difficult to do, unless you are physically impaired. I was there today, and while almost everyone seemed to have one, only about 50% were wearing them on their face. I know going to the gym had an inherent risk, but it's hard to have any confidence in going to the Rochester PF right now.

It was quite an adventures, haven't been much for gyms but definitely a non judgemental community, I'd definitely recommend for veterans and newbies like myself

I’ve been a member for 3 years and have been very satisfied. They just updated probably 75% of their equipment and rearranged things, prioritizing getting more of the most popular equipment.

i signed up to work there as an overnight janitor with Years of janitorial history, no Crim record, showed up wearing a Suit, didn't get hired ! WTH !, i worked for a lifetime fitness and the MN Veterans home ! 🙄

Love planet fitness!!! Aside from the fact they are ready for me in every state I vacation on this specific one has such a charismatic and helpful staff!! Frank and Cayla are the best just to mention a few!! They go above and beyond when assisting member and if there has been something they are new too they are quick to learn so I'm never left hanging!!! Thanks planet fitness fam!!!

This is a very nice gym. I was here visiting from out of town. I love the machines. My only complaint is that the building was much too cold. I will return however.

Excellent gym. Staff do an excellent job being friendly and keeping everything (equipment, floors etc) super clean. I've been to several other gyms in Rochester but for the price, wide variety of quality equipment, weights and cardio machines you can't beat it.

Honestly probably my favorite planet fitness I’ve been to. Even at rush hour (5pm) it doesn’t feel crazy packed (compared to my home PF in Grand Rapids). Solid dumbell weights up to 75. Great separation of training types. Could use more benches that go both flat and incline, instead of a bunch of flat benches.

It’s a good gym, it’s clean, staff is friendly. Wish space was bigger to provide on site classes. The WiFi sucks, always cutting out the music on my phone.

My local PF has well maintained, clean, and professional equipment to enjoy a successful workout. The app is easy to use and packed with relevant information if you need guidance on your wellness journey. The thing that impressed me the most is the philosophy of PF, which is on the walls all over the gym. "This is a Judgment Free Zone." This makes the PF environment comfortable for all members no matter what their level of fitness. You come for you no matter your style or fitness level. All are welcome, and when you leave, you leave confident in yourself, which includes being non-judgmental of yourself too!

I come around midnight on weekdays and I give it 5 stars. The night staff is so nice! Malik always had a great attitude with a smile and works super hard to keep the facility clean! He's very welcoming and keeps the vibes good! The equipment is nice and there are many options to use. And the hydrobed is amazing!

It's very clean and I appreciate the enforcement of cleaning the machines when done using them. There is a ton of equipment, lots of multiples, so waiting for a machine has never occurred for me. The free weights area should be set up a little differently, in my opinion, there's not very much room for multiple people to use them. There's a lot of weights but a narrow space. The circuit workout area is a self taught area, you won't get staff assistance. It's a great idea but very easy to annoy others using it if you don't understand anything so I would avoid it if you're not confident. The basic membership is enough if you don't want the extras like tanning, aqua bed, massage chairs, etc. These are hard to use at this location as staff hides, ignores, or makes you feel like you're annoying if you want to use what you pay for. Another tip, if you can, get a tour at a different facility and they're basically the same. I went to Robert Street and they were helpful. I tried for 2 months to get someone to give me a tour at the Rochester location and gave up. If you're 100% self efficient and confident, I'd give 5 stars, but for others unsure of gyms or new to them, 3 stars.

Not sure why employees would decide to mop the floor at 5:10 PM during peak times when you go to tan or go to the Hydro bed. The floors are soaking wet who wants to takeoff their shoes and stand in the soaking wet floor. I’m thinking midnight 1 o’clock would be more appropriate. Very disappointed.

Went as a guest, do not have a comparison to other planet fitness locations. Decent place, clean and machines worked as they should. Limited options for free weights and limited weight on dumbbells (70lbs if I recall right). Good place to go for basic fitness but if you are looking to lift heavy the weight limitations would be an issue. Staff was all very friendly.

Gets busy, dont always see people wipe down machines

Sooo much better than my regular planet fitness in Las Vegas. The location at Decatur and Meadows should take a look at this location and learn a few things! Cleaning is on pointe and any machine you can think of, they have. Bonus points that the locker rooms are open and fully functional!

This a really good gym. They have every other machine closed to help with social distancing and have upgraded the cleaner. This facility is large with lots of options. I have been to several around the country and this is among the better PF.

Amazing staff friendly positive atmosphere clean

For the price Planet Fitness is a no brainer. You should consider joining if you want an affordable gym membership. The tanning included in the black card membership along with the massage chairs and hydro massage beds are worth the membership alone without the bonus of an entire gym to workout in. The basic membership is $10 a month for use of the entire gym and understadably no one can beat that price in my area.

Nice and plenty of machines. Lots of treadmills available. The free weights are pretty busy, and not many benches to train among users. No barbells with free weights only the barbells machines , that option could be a plus. Overall it is clean, and people are respeful

Went to go get a membership today and wanted to pay cash for 3 months upfront and pretty much was told Cash is no good would have gave my card info as long as I could just pay cash and not have my card charged with upfront payments months in advance poor attitude I will getting a membership somewhere else

Best gym in town not named the Rac!$25 for the Black Membership aka TOPGUN $tatu$... Very diverse with equipment, purple looks gr8 all over, friendly quality service, tanning is high end not cheap old bulbs, hydro massage bed is stellar! The setup of the cardio machines when you come in first is ideal then leading into the weights in back and to the right. Good setup. Glad 2 be back in the gym, don't live in the past, workout 2 create the best Physical YOU&your soul&mind will follow with The Best YOU, PuRaViDa!
