Just canceled our family membership of 5 years. Over the last couple of years this place has just gone down hill. Our last straw was when they raised our membership without notice $60 a year and their reason behind it was "to recoup their cost because of covid". The fact that child care still has limited hours and poor staffing 6 days a week is ridiculous. Despite the fact we pay a 49$ annual maintenance fee, there is constantly broken equipment and the sauna is only functional 50% of the time. The staff does a poor job at monitoring minors using equipment inappropriately and hovering over multiple machines for extended periods of time. Overall I'm very disappointed with the overall service of this gym for a 111$ membership, we weren't even asked why we canceled, she just said "ok". I used to speak very highly of this gym and refer other parents here, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

This place is a joke. My son was in the pool area and went to turn a wheel in the kids area and ended up with tons of fiber glass in both of his hands. Took him to the er and they can't do anything it will take weeks to have them fall out. I called the gym and all I got is a sorry but we fixed it now. I usually sign up my family for a membership during the summer but after this never again.

Received the 7 day trial in my email but after a 5 minute mandatory meeting with Moe in sales I was told I either needed to start a membership or buy a $25 day pass. No actual trial of the gym or other options given. I need a second gym for at most 1 day a week and the rate is still $75/mo… EDIT:Mo came through and helped me and my partner, tremendously. The facility is crowded but stellar, plan accordingly.

Update October 25/2023 Planning to close our memberships due to early closing times, those who work noc shifts cant even go to gym in evening because they close at 22:00 and at 7pm on friday which is not good. We are providing services to people 24/7 in our hospitals, yet gyms can't provide service for us "noc crews" by staying open a little later. Update feb 23, cafam still haven't adjusted working hrs, fri they close at 8pm, common guys, if you value ur customers, you gotta adjust working hours, you make same $ and close earlier, gotta open till later, Covid restrictions are lifted, but cafam gyms still closes at 21:00- 22:00, you charge same amount $ for membership, but close 2-3hrs earlier than before, thats a rip off. Open your gym till at least 23.00, for night shift workers 10pm is too early. Until then it will be a 1 star review

Dishonest business practices. Called for a pass, was told they don't have them and to sign up for a free trial instead. Went through all the paperwork and pitch runaround only to be denied entry and offered a paid day pass instead. Basically tricked us into a pitch to try to get more money -- will never give this gym another dollar.

The staff have poor attitudes, spread rumors and talk bad about guests on the job in front of people. Reported it to the district manager, she was rude and dismissive.I’ve been going here for almost a year, it’s disappointing. Planning on switching gyms soon.

Been a member for less than a month but have loved it! We joined here after being at VillaSport for 2 months and I do not regret the move one bit! The childcare is so much better here, the employees know and love my girls. You can drop off anytime, even twice a day! I have attended 12+ fitness classes and have loved them all. I think the performance swim class on Monday and Wednesdays is a HUGE perk to this gym (Villa doesn’t have anything like that). It’s like a Masters class where the coach gives you a set to swim but he individualizes it to each person based on ability. Also the rhythm spin class is new to this gym and I LOVE it! Great classes including Zumba, HIIT, bootcamp, strength. I do love this place but I do have some suggestions for improvement as well. 1. As a mom of two kids it would be helpful to have an accessibility button for the doors to open automatically because my arms are either full with my kids or pushing a double stroller and it’s hard to get in and around the gym (front door, childcare, and pool door). 2. When you pay for premium it only counts for an adult guest but if your guest has a kid, they have to pay $10. I wish it was one guest per number of people on the account (mom and 2 kids can bring in 3 total people) because using the 350 points for 1 hour of my friend using childcare for kid seems like a lot. Or even if the point for kids could be less like 100 that would make more sense. 3. I do think the pool could be cleaned better and more often. 4. I was told the splash pad and kid pool heaters get shut off on Labor Day. I wish it stayed on longer til October or even all year round!

I’ve been to a lot of gyms in my life, and I have to think this is probably one of my favorite. The staff is always friendly, the facility is incredibly clean and I love all of the hand sanitizer available around the gym. My favorite part about visiting this gym is that since it was not a super market in past years, one side of the building has tons of windows letting in natural light and has a beautiful view of a small valley of nice homes. There’s also many large windows facing the front so it does not feel like I’m working out in a cave. we also trust our kids in the kids club and they always have a great time either playing or doing arts and crafts.

I really enjoy working out at this location, I've only recently rejoined few months ago in August. They let me cancel my membership at the start of the lockdown so I didn't deal with any of the outdoor restrictions. I enjoy the amount of machines and weights they have upstairs and downstairs. I wish they had more squat racks but there is always machines open to use for lots of different muscles. The pool is really big, It would be nice if the locker room showers had better shower heads that detached but the locker rooms are huge and I like the code lockers, easy to use. My favorite part of calfit is that they offer childcare and kids club for those of us with little ones, that makes it so much easier to fit my workouts into my schedule and I can go to whatever location I'm closest to. Only downside is that this location no longer offers childcare Friday-Sunday afternoon anymore, they used to have longer childcare hours before COVID though and I hope they can add more hours during the weekends at some point the future. But I still manage to get to the gym m-th when they're open until 8. It's a bit busier in the evenings than in the late morning/early afternoon as well. Another thing I enjoy is the giant windows in the back with a really pretty view from the hill. This is also one of the cleanest locations I've been to as well. They have lots of group classes all days and times of the week so lots of options to work with schedules.

1 Squat Rack in the entire place. Gym is constantly infested with kids (10-16yr) just messing around on machines.

I was just trying to bring my 5 year old daughter into the pool with me, but they require a $25 day pass payment. Seems a little outrageous to ask $25 for a day pass from a 5 year old of an existing member.

When it’s open, I love this gym. Clean, friendly, great variety of equipment and great amenities. The kids club is wonderful too. My big gripe with it is the hours. It’s a huge inconvenience that the gym closes so early on the weekends. I think that 8pm on Fridays and 7pm on sat and sun is unreasonably early for a gym. There are days that I can’t go to the gym until my kids are in bed, and this removes that opportunity for me. Also the fact that the kids club closes for 2 hours midday is hugely inconvenient too. They are claiming “COVID” as the reason, but this excuse is tired now. I really hope that management starts making stride to get back to pre-pandemic hours

Let me start by saying we were members as a family from 2011-2019 then became members as a family again in 2022-up to now. Almost 10 years of a family membership. Our kids are now training at other gyms, so my husband and I looked into pricing for just the two of us. They could only save us $8/month. Wow, no thank you. One of the reasons that we came back to CalFit were the great classes. Back in the day they used to call my favorite class GST. Now it is called Strength. Well there's only two of these classes all week after 5pm between both the Rocklin & Roseville club, and very limited class offerings after 5 at either club. So, we decided we would look elsewhere and cancel our membership. We were charged last on September 30, so I figured we would be in the clear for a 14-day cancellation policy. Nope! Found out that it is now a 30-day cancellation policy and we would be charged on October 30th as well. The person who we were speaking to on the phone had no intention of wanting to work with us or even object to our cancellation. Usually they at least ask why you want to cancel. She did not care that we were cancelling and she didn't care that we were long time members. She just wanted to process our cancellation and get off the phone. I'm very disappointed in our recent experience with CalFit and what this once great club has become.

Love this gym have been going since I was a kid.. one thing I will say is the sauna needs some better hygiene smells really bad, I sometimes take the extra long drive to Roseville foothills location to use the sauna.

I recently visited this gym and was extremely impressed with the facilities and the staff. The equipment was top-notch and there was a wide variety of machines to choose from. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and they even gave me some great tips on how to improve my workouts. But the best part about this gym was the atmosphere. It was upbeat and motivating, and I felt like I could really push myself to the next level. I left feeling energized and ready to conquer the world (or at least the weight room). I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to get in shape and have a great time doing it. It's the perfect place to pump some iron and feel like a true action hero (just like me). Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Great equipment, super clean including large locker room with lots of private shower stalls. Great friendly staff, especially at 4:30 am. Wish they'd go back to 4am opening time!

Really good place to work out and swim. They also have an amazing daycare for the kids.

Love the gym, everyone is extremely nice except the operations manager. She is extremely rude and gives off a cold demeanor.

  • 1/5 Kamran M. 1 year ago on Google
Christina, the manager is extremely rude. If you have handicap or have special needs or a loved one that you want to bring with you to this gym, forget it! We had a horrendous experience with this manager! Let me explain that, it’s only this location, other calfit locations have been great and understanding. So if you thinking of joining calfit, consider other locations than Rocklin!

Love the gym but.... I find it silly that I have to call corporate to make the racquetball court floors clean and safe as the front desk told ME to do. They haven't been touched since we'll before the pandemic.
