👍👍 The food was delicious! I've been waiting for a restaurant that serves Ecuadorian food in the MoCo area. I was able to order Guatita (not on the menu) and it was so good!! We also ordered Bandeja Paisa, which was perfect. The service overall was fantastic, and i can't wait to try the rest of the men... People often mention Javier, service, good, asked, shot, credit, delicious, drinks, server, card,

The service was terrible to say the least. We went there for my parent’s anniversary. We order drinks and food and we received our entrees before drinks (when I say drinks I mean coke aside from the displeasing cocktail) not even a sip of anything. The server came by after the entree and asked if we were missing anything (???) umm yes the rest of the food… 2 more entrees and our drinks. The cocktail came and it was absolutely disgusting I asked her if I can just order another drink instead and she said no it’s additional. Then 10 minutes later came by and said I can get another drink as long as it’s the same value. Then finally, the food arrives. The ceviche was not marinated at all it was just thrown onto the plate. The best part of the service was the manager stopping by to tell us the delay in our Saletñas. Lastly, and the most distasteful was me asking her if we can get an ANNIVERSARY dessert. There was a birthday sign taken out earlier with the DJ wishing someone a happy birthday I wanted something similar and asked her specifically for the anniversary announcement and sign. She even confirmed if it was for my parents at the table. They came out with a birthday sign… a happy birthday sign…. I was highly upset bc the entire thing is ruined already. Then the flan we got had a hair in it!!! Realizing as we are eating it… just disgusting. The server came and gave me the receipt for it, when I told her “hey I asked you for anniversary she said ohh yes sorry we only do birthday… I said but I asked you, you should’ve told me. She said “oh sorry” I’m just upset at everything, we were really looking forward to enjoying a Latin restaurant.

They offering Ecuadorian ceviche, which has nothing to do with the real Ecuadorian ceviche I got sick from it last night after eaten it. They have to improve it, something in there tasted funny. Also the place and the atmosphere is really nice the area and all of it however service was very poor we didn’t even get any silverware in our table had to call the server and they weren’t even busy at the time. Prices are a little high for the food portions. Also when you go inside the restaurant there is terrible the foul smell of drainage or pipes goes straight to your nose which causes a bad impression of the place. I wanna go back however hope this helps the owner to improve the little details.

The food is delicious and priced well. We had a birthday in our group and they gave us a free cake, played music and celebrated with us!

Nice mix of Latin American food. I had the Marranitos and Asado de tira. Drinks are good and overall a nice place to go out and enjoy a day or night. Check it out for sure!

What a fabulous and fun place!! My son and I were walking in Rockville Town Center and randomly encountered this gem because we heard the musician playing live music. He’s amazing and the place is so lively and has great ambience. We sat outside and I enjoyed a coconut Mojito. Felt like I was somewhere exotic on vacation! The service was perfect. Will definitely be back!!

We came here for Father’s Day, service was professional, friendly and exceptional, Marilú helped us that night. Place was very nice decorated. The chairs are very uncomfortable, the table was moving all the time to the sides because under the table the floor was very greasy, that was very unpleasant. We tried many plates and the food was OK for the price. Service was great and that is why I’m not giving a 2 stars ⭐️ review. I have been here before in the late night party that they have on the weekends and sometimes the place is so overcrowded you can’t even walk. I’ll definitely come again if they improve the quality of the meat which make me have tooth pain.

Stumbled upon Kumbia while walking around Rockville town square and figured we would try them out for lunch. They had live entertainment singing and playing all the fun Latin songs which was great! Kept our daughter entertained as well :) My husband ordered the Bandeja Paisa which he said was pretty delicious(He’s Colombian so that’s quite the endorsement). I had the picanha which was also really good and our daughter had the kids lomito which she really enjoyed. The quality of the food and atmosphere and service was worth the $. Don’t hesitate to try them out, you won’t be disappointed.

We had dinner at Kumbia seven months ago. We were so pleased to have found a well decorated cleaned place that served gourmet style delicious food (there are not good Ecuadorian restaurants out there). Live music was a little loud, but other than that, everything was excellent. We went back to try other dishes. We don't know what happened (perhaps a managing change?) but the quality has gone down. Bathroom was gross: there was a big hole in the wall (made by the door handle) where they had neglectfully stocked toilet paper (perhaps to avoid rodents to get in?). It seemed the door got locked weeks ago, and to open it, the frame got broken with a knife. The garbage can (with no lid) and the wall behind it were filthy. The vanity mirror and counters were dirty as well. If the restroom was in that condition we didn't want to imagine the kitchen 😖. The food quality has also declined in flavor and presentation. We got burnt edges in two of the dishes; one was very chewy and the third one had very small portions (literally two potato slices & five tostado grains)😑 They offered us natural juice made from pulp. The juice we got instead was watery and overpriced for having come out of a box. The only good thing was the service: our waitress and host were very kind and helpful. However, we asked another server (who was free) for ketchup and she completely forgot about it. We got it when the kid's meal was already cold. Finally, they have a sign stating late night parties will be charged 20% gratuity. We left around 7:30pm (is this late night?) and were still charged that percentage, which does not represent the quality of service we received. It's sad this place, that looked very promising, is getting transformed into another greasy spoon :(

I was on a busness trip and decided to check out a couple of restaurants with good food, drinks and Entertainment. Which next month I would be taking out my clients for the Holiday's. When a travel I use Google review to assist me in locating good establishments. I found Kumbia on Google, The reviews were good. I decided to visit the establishment Saturday night. I arrived and sat at the bar. John the bartender greeted me, John was very nice and attentive. I had a couple of drinks, I had Buchanan on the rocks with splash of seltzer. The drinks were watered down. I then ordered Empanada, The Empanada's test like they were cooked in oil that has not been changed for a while. I could not eat the other Empanada. A short while later two more bartenders arrived Javier and a girl (I did not get her name). John was move the the other side of the bar. Javier was my server. I used the restroom and when I came back the bar stools where gone. Javier explained that the night life was about to start, and they remove the stools from the bar. I asked Javier for a shot of Don Julio, I also asked Javier if he and the co-worker (girl) would like to take a shot on me. They both said yes, Javier served 3 shots. We drank two rounds of shots, but I noticed the Javier and his co-work wrapped there hands around the plastic shot cups and drank it very quickly and tossed the cups out quickly. I am used to taking shot with bartenders and everyone would place the shot cup on the bar or table to show that you took the shot. I later introduced me self to some females that were Standing by my side at the bar. I noticed that Javier did not like me talking the girls due to his face expression. I was not feeling the place any more so I asked Javier for another shot and the bill. Javier asked if I was inviting him and his co-work also? I replied yes, I'll invite you guys to a shot. Javier served 3 shots, This time I paid close attention them when they were taking the shots. They again wrapped thier hands around the plastic shot cups and maybe touched there lips and tossed the shot cups out. They clearly were not drinking the shots. I gave they 3 shots each that I paid $16 each, To have them just throw the shots out. But it could not get any worse, but its does. I hand my credit card to Javier, the bill was $280.95. They also include a 20% gratuity after 10pm. Javier turns around yells to me that my credit card declined. I am sure that I was not the only one at the bar that heard him. I asked him to try the credit Card again. I have been using this card during my trip and have not had any issues with it. Javier yells again that "the credit card declined". Javier never gave me any recept stating that the credit card declined. I gave Javier another credit card. Javier again yells " This credit didn't not decline ". I was very embarrassed!! I took my last shot and I left. I went to another establishment that was walking distance. The second establishment was a better experience. I also used the credit card that Javier stated was declining. The next day I looked into why would my credit card declined. To my surprise my credit card never declined. So he charged me twice, Total $561.90. I have spoken to my credit card companys and explained to them my situation, and they are taking care of this issue. I do not like writing bad reviews, but no one should have to go through this, very embarrassed, humility experience like I did. I am a very understandable man owning 8 business, but management needs be address and or address these issues at thier establishment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

The ambience nightlife and the crowd is good. But they are definitely over priced with regards to drinks ..I paid 25% gratuity just for one long island drink ..and I was the only person ..it wasnt even for more than one person and picked it at the bar ..no serice. I was made to wait 15mins for this one drink ..they scam a lot on over charges ..compared to other bars in d.c ..crowd was friendly and nice which was the only good thing .

Everything from the lomo saltado, empañadas, to our kid’s salchipapa was delicious. The atmosphere is on point and the drinks were awesome. A perfect spot for a great time!

The place was empty when we arrived that alone should’ve been a sign. The food was NOT GOOD AT ALL! The patacones were disgusting. I ordered lomo saltado and the rice was raw and very grainy. The beef was chewy and had no flavor. The only thing that was good were the French fries sadly. The empanadas were to hard and the meat inside was dry. The service was ok a little slow. Being that the restaurant wasn’t that busy. The manager was nice upon check out. We really wanted to give this place a try but for the price the food was trash.

We always have a great time at Kumbia. We drive out from Alexandria for their club vibe Fridays or dinner for a special occasion. We had a lovely Mother’s Day dinner there and Camila our server, was very warm and attentive. The food and drinks are delicious!
