I understand the location is under construction but the local management actions are unacceptable: (1) not one vending machine after our 12 hour car ride! (2) No breakfast!! Even during the pandemic (same location in July 2020 and 2021) we were given prepackaged breakfast meals!!! (3) No hot water in the shower!!!! Sink is OK (4) The barn door to the bathroom, looks nice, but the door latch does not reach in order to lock the bathroom door!!!!! Doesn't management take a walk through and do a functional inspection???? (5) Keys to 508 were not programmed correctly!!!!! Did I say "...after our 12 hour car ride... "?????? Last question, do we get a refund for "No breakfast"??????

Just an overnight stop to rest up from a long journey. My husband left his cell phone in the Holiday Inn Express hotel room (not sure exactly where he had lost it). Once we confirmed it was found in our hotel room, Frank Torres (GM) helped get it back to us quickly and efficiently. He was very helpful and communicative throughout the process. We really appreciate everything he did!

My wife and I stoped here on our way home from New York back to Florida. The place was very clean the rooms were spacious and stocked with the shampoo and hand soap , hair dryer , coffee, tea , water . Had free breakfast in the morning . Bacon eggs, waffles, cereal, juice . Coffee . The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area had several restaurants right nearby walking distance. If you need a place to stay along I-95 this is the place . You will be happy you did .

Gave it a two ONLY because of front desk clerk. We stayed in room 527, had no toiletries and coffee maker was broke. Asked AT 430 am if we could get each she was snotty and said she’d find one , Never heard from her. Husband went down after a bit and asked for coffee. She was rude and said in there. No lights were On , she shouldn’t be in customer service , but I will say room was very clean. Actually brand new. Don’t think Reno was done though. Few things missing. But will recommend.

I'd give this establishment a -5 stars if I could. Do not stay at this Holiday Inn Express! Service was horrible. We stayed here for a soccer tournament. Never have we had an issue over the years with kids and adults lounging in the public lounge area. There isn't much to do in Rocky Mount, so we hung out on the lounge as a team watching TV (World Cup) and playing board games. We were asked several times to leave the area because there were people "working" in the next room. Come to find out, the next room was just the pantry/breakfast area that was empty. Elevators don't really work and there is ongoing construction everywhere as this is a remodel hotel. The filtered water in the fitness center doesn't work and the lady at the front desk that was giving us horrible service the entire stay said, "that's not my problem". At least offer bottle waters to accommodate. This was the worst experience as we felt so unwelcomed.

Lynette who works the night shift was so kind and helpful. Give that woman a raise. She was having to deal with so many people and still found time to be accommodating and kind. She gave good recommendations on where to eat and just made the stay very nice. I felt bad for her because in the ten minutes that it took her to check me in/explain the check out process a woman’s dog was freaking out and both she and another man couldn’t seem to read the large sign that said CASH ONLY for snacks (which is at eye level) lord does she have patience. She alone deserves a 10/10. Give this beautiful woman a raise!

I wouldn't give any stars. We arrived here after driving all day exhausted. We got a room but when we lugged all our luggage up there. We went to use bathroom. No running water. I call down to desk she says oh yes we have a plumbing issue. I said why didn't u tell us that upon check-in she says oh it will be on soon. We watched as others came in she didn't tell. People coming to desk asking how we wash our hands. Over an hour later we went to dinner come back we see and hear plumber say oh water is on but hot water will take awhile. Short of long at 10 pm still no hot water. I told the desk person we expected not to pay full for this room . She said yes I have a list for the GM. Next morning we go to Checkout and desk person different says oh everyone was told no water. I said whoa wait a minute my husband then spoke up too. She was told the whole story. She rolled her eyes..said I'll tell the GM. I have emailed the Manager and the owners. No response. We would have left if told no water then we were told in a few minutes on and on then it was too late we were exhausted. Not only was this horrendous but people walking around hotel with out washing hands toilets can't flush. Unsanitary. I'm still on it. Don't go there. They don't care and there are other hotels in this complex. Don't fall for what we did. Drive to the back

My first time staying at a Holiday Inn express. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality I received for the cost involved. It was $131 a night plus tax and breakfast was included which I must say was fantastic. We had just stayed at a $300 a night Hyatt hotel in Yonkers NY that was not as nice as this. Thankfully they had a 2 queen bedroom available late at night after a long day of driving. Parking was spacious and safe. Rooms were clean and modern and the service was polite and courteous. It’s a little off I-95 so follow your GPS.

Newly renovated hotel with attentive and courteous employees. The rooms were clean and the gym was spacious with new equipment. The family stated the breakfast was mediocre and wasn't satisfied with the selection.

Katy @ check-in was great! Everyone was very friendly. The AC wall unit didn’t control the actual unit & they forgot to wipe the desk & floors. Other than that, it was a nice large clean room with plenty of nice big clean towels! Michele @ checkout was amazing & was going to have all fixed by our next visit. Thank you. We had a nice quiet sleep. The hotel was easy to find. And right next to 2 restaurants. Win-win!

It's located between 2 steak houses. Room was clean. It accepts dogs but it was really quiet. The breakfast could use some more fruit. We stayed 4 nights the staff was amazing. The system was down and they had to let us in our room every time we came back. The cleaning people were great always asking if we need anything. The people at the desk were great too. I gave it a 4 due to system being down.

We were scared to stay after reading some of these reviews, but we found this hotel to be totally fine! The construction is done and it is newly remodeled and updated. It's a Holiday Inn - not luxury, but certainly not bad at all. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was fine, and for the price - I would stay again.

We had a wonderful experience at your hotel. We were traveling home from a funeral and broke down and needed to stay the night and have repairs done the next morning. The rooms were very clean and updated. The free hot breakfast was very good. I was impressed. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Both front desk ladies were very nice to my children. My boys are extremely social and like to talk to adults when we are out and many times get ignored. This was not the case at all. Tiffany was very helpful to us when we were having repairs done the following morning. Definitely recommend this hotel.

I gave an extra star for general cleanliness, but otherwise, this hotel is super lackluster. The breakfast was terrible, with the sausage looking like withered old fingers. When we asked for an extra blanket, they "had none", nor made an effort to try looking for an alternative (i.e. an extra flat sheet would have been fine). Furthermore, when we realized that my daughter and husband forgot a toothbrush, they magically only had one set to give us, despite advertising complimentary replacements. Is this place not stocked properly, or are the staff just lazy? Either way, we will not likely be back. Please do better.

This was truly an average hotel. It was pet friendly which was the best part of the stay. The rooms were surface clean but deep down it is unkempt. The walls are all marked up, the handle on the closet door was broken and the floors were truly dirty. I wasted syrup on the floor and got it up immediately but the towel after I wiped the floor looked as if I cleaned the concrete ground. The breakfast was better than most hotels since the pandemic.

I find it appalling that they do not allow pets in handicap rooms. Consequently, the pet rooms are not accessible. We checked in and the pet room was too small for my mother's wheelchair. We had to check out and find a different hotel...after 9 hours on the road. The girl at the front desk was nice enough to find another pet-friendly hotel nearby, so I called and reserved a room there.

BEWARE: No mention on their website that this is an ongoing construction zone. Handicap parking space is in the same area as all the construction vehicles. Very slow check-in. Room was on 5th floor. One working elevator with cardboard covering the walls. We needed ice and followed the posted signs "Ice on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor". Went to each floor; the 4th floor ice maker was posted 'Out of Order', the 3rd and 2nd floors were demolition sites with no access to the halls from the elevator. TV was fairly new, but the connection only provided pixelated screen image so it was of no use. We called to report and were told "I'll call the the engineer." Never had a further response. The carpet near the a/c was wet and the wall paint cracked from condensation. The noise level in the room was horrible - from slamming doors, to construction activity, to heavy highway traffic. Worst experience! Breakfast is an amenity, we understand, but far inferior to other Holiday Inn Expess facilities. Upon checking out we told the gal of our issues and she was very unconcerned. In fact, we were blocked from exiting the lobby with the luggage cart by the contractors heavy duty electric cords which no one attempted to move out of the way until my husband finally took matters into his own hands. We have one more Holiday Inn Express reservation for the next 3 nights in a different city. Hopefully the experience there will be different. We've been faithful Express vacationers for the last 20 years. This past experience may make us look for a different hotel chain to patronize. This was the.worst.ever I'll try to post the photos; the site is not allowing me to do so right now.

Under renovation. Staff was terrific even the contractors who were renovating directed us in a professional manner to where the safe entrance was. The downside on the other hand the noise at 1am from other rowdy guests with kids. I could hear them with the door closed and they were down the hallway. The kids were screaming.

We have been home for over a week now and we are all still sick, been to the doctors with mold and respiratory issues since we stayed here. Do yourself a favor and don't stay if the room smells like mold. It was worse than we thought, and black mold is nothing to mess with. The owner and or manager needs to refund us the money for the entire stay to cover the doctor bills we have had since staying there. Just saying we are sorry isn't enough! Stop being so greedy by staying open when you should be closed for rennovations and take care of your customers before you face a serious law suit.

In the middle of renovation. The room was not clean to standard. Huge cracking glass. No drapes. No closet. Old furniture. Small bathroom. Room number on the ground outside. Noise level was high. Just not anything I would like to say that again. Every time I stay at this location and this is the third time something always happens. No desk in my room only two chairs no ottoman. Great location friendly staff. Hotels just needs a lot of work. I do not recommend at this time. Several other guests were changing rooms & ware not satisfied. Lose wiring. Front desk overwhelmed. Pets allowed and they do have breakfast and snack area. No sitting area. Older hotel needs a lot more work. My iron board was propped against the wall by window and iron by bed. NO CLOSET CANT HANG CLOTHES. Again staff is friendly but communication is poor. My room was overcharged and not what I was quoted. I think I’m done with giving this hotel a chance.

I always try to stay at a comfort Inn. They are usually always clean and reasonably priced. This was the worst motel I have ever stayed in. Room smelled like smoke carpet was filthy. Tub had mildew. When we booked the room the lady was very nice. We have to travel to this area often but will not be staying here again.

The hotel was okay. Once we got there our room was left open upon our arrival. The older black lady at the front desk wasn't all that friendly. Had to keep asking for towels and wash clothes. When l finally got some hours later they only gave me 2 each although l have 3 people that l booked for the room. And the breakfast hours is a little early 6 to 9 am during the week days. It was a drunk man outside the hotel with a beer bottle in his hand. Definitely bad for business. This was our first in this Rocky Mount, NC and l choose this hotel and probably be our last. The staff didn't make us fell welcoming at all. We had 2 hour drive to this location. At least the room was clean.

I booked a room at this hotel for the wrong date on a non-refundable/non-changeable site. Michelle (the manager) was helpful, kind, sweet, calm and understanding while helping and correcting this issue for me. I’m 100% sure I will be satisfied with the service, up keeping, and quality standards of the room due to the way Michelle showed she cares about making sure the customer is taken care of. Thank you.

Clean room.... Very quiet.... Descent buffet breakfast. Arrived very late and all I wanted to do was sleep. Was so happy when I walked into the room it was nice and cool. At buffet breakfast attendant even asked me if she could give me a doggy bag for later in the day.
