We visited The Landing Restaurant of this place during our trip to Kumeu and I gotta say, I’m so impressed ! Super nice and fancy ambience, top notch customer service quality and also, mouthwatering taste of food. I love how polite, professional and thoughtful the staffs here are. Very well presented dishes and gorgeous decorations/interior designs. This place did not disappoint me at all. Will definitely be coming back here in the future !

Came here on a Sunday afternoon to meet friends. Great bustling atmosphere, weather was nice we sat outside. I ordered the chicken burger & fries. Burger tasted ok. Staff were quick to serve us & efficient.

Awesome spot for a getaway meal. I had the fish and chips. It was good, not exceptional. The risotto had the most character out of the four we ordered. All in all, it was an inviting diner. (Coffee was better than expected). Thank you staff🤌

We took the ferry, and the weather gods were smiling on us...crisp but sunny with clear blue skies... the food was to die for, reasonably priced. Outside and inside tables, great decor, great scenes...And for some fun, a billiards area in the back with its own bar... 10/10 recommend 👌.

Lovely spot, especially with the boat trip from town. Servers were polite and attentive and the views across the estuary were nice whilst dining.

We had a lovely lunch at The Landing yesterday, very nice food and probably the best chips I've ever had! Very friendly service, nothing was too much trouble. My only complaint was I thought $18 for a small panacotta dessert was quite overpriced.

This was my second time dining at The Riverhead and we were so happy with everything. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the food because we were all too excited to eat. I'm not a vegetarian, but even the vegetarian dishes here look amazing. We tried the kimchi risotto and it was just perfect. The ribs and the fish & chips are, of course, delicious too! Black Forest Gateau pictured was the best ending.

Very busy when we visited on a Saturday but we were able to wait for a table. Lovely spot outside and service was fast. Kids enjoyed their generous meals. Also nice for kids to walk down to jetty.

Really appreciated the kind & excellent service of the staff here. Fresh ingredients and quick to serve a delicious ceasar salad. Beautiful day to sit by the river. Plenty of lovely tables to choose from. Recommend a visit for lunch or dinner 🥂

Been a while since my last visit to The Riverhead. My recent visit to celebrate my wife's birthday with our best friends was nothing short of a gastronomic delight. What truly set our evening apart was the staff's friendliness and their willingness to accommodate changes to the menu. I was at the tail end of recovering from a bad cold and inflammation and it's not every day that you find a place where the staff are not only attentive but are ready to fine-tune one's dining experience to meet one's need! A most enjoyable evening in an atmosphere that was warm and inviting, great laughter and shared moments among our friends, the meandering Waitemata water outside the window and a windless evening after Auckland's stormy weather added a touch of serenity to the evening, turning our dinner into a wonderful birthday dinner experience that transcended the ordinary and made it such a special evening for my wife. So I top marks 'he Riverhead' and I tip my hat to all the staff who made our evening such a wonderful event. My deepfelt appreciation!

The Riverhead has all the things a country restaurant needs to make it a 5xxx rating. Good location, staff and service, food and drink. So good..

The 'Riv's ribs' is a killer. It just melts in your mouth. The fries are crispy and salted " à point ". Go for the cheesy garlic bread too. The place feels cozy.

Close to average restaurant pricing but food was above average. I had the burger which was a good size and flavour packed. Very relaxed outdoor dining area, doesn't get much better than that. Service was great, regular check ins to replace our drinks when needed. It's a must try restaurant for sure. Probably worth booking, it was very busy at lunch time.

Such a beautiful restaurant. We’ve visited for a late lunch and the staff was so helpful in booking us in. Restaurant is beautiful, cosy and situated just next to the river. Food was lovely and staff was super friendly. It’s a great place to wind down and enjoy a beer.

Lovely place to eat here in Riverhead. Pictures attach are the Hawkes Bay Lamb Rump & Belly, Dumplins, and a nice Tea which came with it's own teapot and a nice jar of sugar for one to add as much as they see fit. If you are interested in tea they had a nice selection. The one pictured is Chamomile Tea. The atmosphere if sat outside is lovely as you can enjoy the countryside. If you are the the CBD Auckland, you can take the Riverhead Ferry to this restaurant as part of your booking (highly reccomend) If you do not live in Riverhead, that is okay because the ferry will be ready to take you back 3-4 hours after getting situated in restaurant (plenty of time to eat and relax). Have to go to the front of store to pay bill. If you get lost the wait staff are very nice and will help you find your way. Overall good restaurant and would go back to eat for another good occasion again.

This is an awesome place for weekend family lunch / brunch. We had an awesome time.. we went during the day but I'm sure it would be magical at night too .. with the terraces overlooking the river. NZ oldest tavern and truly living UpTo the expectations.. must go on the culinary list..

I can't fault the service and the location but i was disappointed with the food. I ordered the market fish and it came out beautifully presented, it just lacked in flavor. All the elements just needed a little bit more depth. It was not bad but it was not great either and the flavor can only be described as boring. Yet if you read the menu description, it sounds mouth-watering. This was the same with the gnocchi that my friend ordered and the burger that my partner got. The fries that came with the burger I couldn't fault.

So went here for a birthday lunch we were a big table food came out a bit late but that is understandable because of the size of the table but what is not understandable is when multiple people got a meal with fries and some people got a huge amount of fries while other people had 10 fries on there plate. It aint hard to be serve equal amounts of fries. Then we get to the ribs its in there special items, what a joke that is it should be left off the menu they were boiled and still dry the sauce with sickly sweet. Now people who got steaks all said there steak was not cooked how they asked and it was chewy. The fish and chips looked good and was told it was good, other then the 10 fries. So overall i wont be going back and it would be hard to recommend anyone to go there for the food. Also for how expensive it is you would think you are eating at a restaurant in town.

Iconic bar and restaurant in Riverhead - great view outside, with fire going inside in winter. A favourite meal is the ribs! Meat just falls off the bone - yummy. A little disappointed there was no lime for my vodka lime and lemonade otherwise a pleasant dining experience

Fabulous location by the river. Good parking outside. The food was tasty with a good selection on menu. Random service let our meal down. Ordered a cheese platter starter and before we had even finished the mains were bought out. When the starter came, it wasn't with the cheese we ordered. Had to ask them to wait till we'd finished. Ordered a coffee for end of meal and in the end had to go and ask for it myself.

Had dinner here with some mates. Service was awesome, food was meh, but the ambiance was a 100% Feedback on the steak, less sauce please!!
