If you've been to Rome several times, you can also venture away from the highlights. The Rosato comunale on the way to the orange garden on the Aventim is a must. There is also a Nasoni there.

On the occasion of Rome's Christmas, on 21 April, the municipal Rose Garden will reopen to the public, unique in the world for its spectacular position, it lies on the slopes of the Aventine, in front of the remains of the Palatine, just above the Circus Maximus. In 1645 , it was a Jewish cemetery, the paths that divide the flowerbeds in the area took the shape of the menorah, the seven-branched candelabra, symbol of Judaism.

Extraordinary! Flowering occurs at the end of May and beginning of June, perfect for taking a romantic walk or even with family or friends 🥰

As always roses are great but the temperature is crushing the beauty year by year. Still wonderful experience for kids to see so many varieties of roses and experience the feel of roses in Rome.

Very nice garden with different types of roses. We visited it in the middle of May, so the smell was amazing. There aren’t many banks available for sitting and there is only one toilet for women and men so a bit crowded.

What is a purpose of a public park if it is mostly closed to the public? You can come in only April - June, stick to the paths. What a joke.

Splendid rose garden open in late spring. Roses from all over the world, many botanical variations. The only flaw: a few areas of shade, a few trees at the edge of the rose garden wouldn't hurt

An unforgettable experience in Rome. Must see!!! There must be hundreds (or thousands…) different roses all with a different color and smell. It is not very crowded either. This is a place that I will surely return to every time I’m in Rome.

Free entry. Super nice view and lots of different roses. Not open all year round.

Beautiful rose garden. It's best not to visit on a Sunday, as it's really busy. The garden is in the immediate vicinity of the Circus Maximus and is no longer an insider tip. You don't pay an entrance fee.

I recommend it to all people sensitive to beauty! However, you have to be lucky because it is only open in spring. A beautiful, fragrant place!

It's a shame it's closed in winter, but there were roses in bloom that you can glimpse from the gates

Amazing rose garden with hundreds of sifferent roses. They are all identified and were very much in bloom in early-mid May. Very good "off-time" from all the major tourist areas around there.

The green area is very beautiful and well maintained. There is also a fountain and several benches to sit on. There are signs attached to the various rose bushes.

Fantastic place to end the day of site seeing. You get wonderful views from the top of the rose garden (which has plenty of seating areas) and across Rome. I was greeted by a fantastic guitarist who filled the place with some great music.

Beautiful, well-tended garden. The roses are in their prime during the month of May. Lots of benches and places to sit. There was live music the day I was there, which made it very enjoyable.

A gorgeous space beside the Circus Maximus site. Very beautiful in May. You are allowed to walk up on the grass to better inspect the roses.
