My family stayed at Domus Monami in November 2023. It was the best choice. The owners are incredibly friendly and professional. They helped with everything making sure visiting Rome was unforgettable and hassle free experience. They took care of the reservations at the great restaurants very close by, transfers to and from airoport and tickets. The room was spectacular and the whole place is elegant without being pretentious. You can feel the love that this family has for each other and how committed they are to their mission to be the truly caring hosts. They pay attention to details which makes stay there a beautiful and relaxing experience. Thank you! We will go back in the Spring. Vestby family

We loved our brief stay at Domus Monami! Stefano and Fabrizio were such welcoming and accommodating hosts. They were so helpful with obtaining a taxi, providing directions and ensuring we were comfortable during our stay. The views from the rooftop patio were amazing, and the location of the home in Trastevere cannot be beat -- within walking distance to many of Rome's beautiful historic sites. In short, we loved staying at Domus Monami and are looking forward to the next time we can visit.

Great place and location, good people, very safe area with beautiful view of Rome. Short walk to coffee and a restaurant. Downside was, pillows were like plywood, bathroom lighting was about like candles, no breakfast, no bar. Have a beautiful rooftop patio, with nothing to sit on. People living upstairs are very noisy.

My wife and I finished our honeymoon with two nights here, and it was the BEST way to wind down before heading home. The upper area of Trastevere is quiet, very safe, and Domus Monami offers the most beautiful view of Rome from up on the hill! We only had the opportunity to interact with Stefano during our stay, and he was a joy! His enthusiasm and sincerity shine during every interaction. Upon checking in, Stefano provided us with a tour of the entire facility, and he made sure we were comfortable with using the elevator, climbing the beautiful staircase to the rooftop terrace, using our different keys for the property, and everything else so we could fully enjoy our stay! The room we stayed in, Adriano, is so beautiful. The view out the window, size and comfort of the bed, and amazing water pressure/temperature were only part of the unbelievable experience. Domus Monami feels like a living museum: artwork, family history, beautiful original furniture, and ancient artifacts are found at every turn of your head. We cannot recommend a stay at Domus Monami enough. Our next trip to Rome will definitely include another stay!

Incredible stay at the price point we paid . Staff/owners were very friendly, helpful, and flexible. Our room was cozy and accommodating. It is located in a great part of town. Only downside was there is a good bit of noise from neighbors or the neighborhood well into the night. Not sure if that is normal or just happened a few nights we were there… either way, highly recommended and we would return in the future.

We had a fantastic two night stay here. The rooms, location and hosts are some of the best we’ve experienced. The location is safe and quiet, but also close the bars and restaurants of Trastevere. The hotel is on a hill but it’s a gentle walk up from the town and manageable for most people. There is a good coffee place (Bar Gianicolo) just around the corner for breakfast if you don’t want to go down the hill. Fabrizio and Stefano are so welcoming and kind, they put such effort into the space with the museum and offer many recommendations, as well as securing us a driver to/from the airport. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we come back to Rome!

Excellent location, reasonably priced, and Fabrizio/Stefano were fantastic hosts. Located in the hills above Trastevere, surrounded by the residences of ambassadors, it is a short (downhill) walk to the main area of Trastevere and into the rest of the city. The home has been in the family of the hosts for 100 years and they will proudly share that history. From the rooftop we had a fantastic view of the bird murmurs at sunset (look it up if you are not familiar, winter only) as well as the rest of the city. Highly recommended!
