How this place is a 4 star hotel is a mystery to me. I stayed in this hotel as part of a tour which is already a downside in itself - when you are booked as a group, hotels such as this treat their group guests differently from their regular hotel guests. The rooms did not have fridges which is appalling for a 4 star hotel. When I asked whether we can request service water, the lady at the front desk asked whether we have a fridge in the room. Not sure how this is relevant to requesting for a basic necessity? I was told "classic rooms" do not have fridges and therefore we cannot request service water. One would think a 4 star hotel would have the basic necessities for travellers. Breakfast was meh. Breads tasted like they were at least a day old and they used powder for their scrambled eggs. Canned fruits (peaches) were served. This place is lacking in security. Lifts do not need key cards and, with hundreds of guests (apparently they have 900+ rooms), non-guests can go in and out of the hotel in ease. We witnessed a theft while staying here - three bags were stolen from a family who was part of a group tour. So no, never going back and will not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Roma.

How terrible! Worst customer service! Preferably, do not consider this hotel. I booked a triple room, but when I got to the room, the promised extra bed was not ready. I asked again, and after I waited a long time, they installed a small temporary bed for the child. (We were 3 adults) I couldn't communicate with the staff who installed the bed, but I tried to communicate well through Google Translate because he is providing a service for me. But he falsely accused us of spitting. He even lied! It was to the point where I doubted whether I was being racist because I was Asian. Worst hotel experience in many ways, very unfriendly. My experience at this hotel was unpleasant and I do not recommend it.

This is my very first experience submitting a review. I felt it was extremely important to share our experience. This hotel is absolutely horrible. Don't let the beautiful lobby fool you. They have incompetent personnel at check-in with indifferent attitudes and dispositions. Just straight out, RUDE! Our group arrived at 10:30am and were told that we wouldn't be able to check in until 3:00pm .Guests were all over the lobby, sleeping, many of whom had been traveling at least 12 hours or more. Not to mention that most of the guests in the lobby hadn't an opportunity to brush their teeth or wash body in over 12hrs. You would think that they would offer guests a bottle of water and a meal due to the circumstances. NOT!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY ?? So after waiting 4.5 hrs.we get to our room only to find the most disgusting, filthy room in the hotel. SEE PHOTOS! I returned to the desk and waited a long time in line .I informed the desk clerk that the room was not acceptable ,showed photos, and requested a room change. The request was honored .We gathered all of our belongings and moved on our own without any help from staff on the other side of the hotel. Well, when we walked into the room, it was equally as disgusting as the initial room, all the same issues. Only this time, the bedding was ancient as Rome! We immediately returned to the front desk only to have to wait again while the desk clerk continued to check multiple guests in completely ignoring my presence. When I finally spoke up and informed her that the second room was unacceptable she was immediately abrasive and told me that I had no other option because the hotel was booked even as two other clerks continued to check others guest in I asked to speak a manager and was told there was none on duty..WHAT? Then she had the audacity to ask me to "step away from the desk." By now, I am exhausted, frustrated, disappointed by the disrespect, and had tolerated and endured enough.I adamantly refused until to "step away from the desk " until the issue is resolved to my satisfaction. Finally, a young gentleman came to the rescue. I explained the totality of the horrendous experience from the moment we arrived. He refused to view the photos, stating that" it wasn't necessary."He then went into the system and selected a total of six rooms .The next thing I knew, a hotel worker was escorting me on a tour of those six rooms. Out of the six rooms, only two were acceptable. One room was soooooo gross that as soon as I walked in, I began to itch. I turned on my heels and ran the hell out of there! YUCKY,YUCKY!!.Ultimately, we ended up with a room with two balconies and a great view of the pool. We absolutely deserved the room that was received after all the HELL we went through. I'm so glad it was only a two day stay. ATTN.reader, I am so sorry that this post is so lengthy.. However, I wanted you to truly understand what we endured, and a quick synopsis wouldn't achieve such. Shout out to the young male desk clerk who provided a quick resolution.Thank you for being the only professional at the front desk. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!

UPDATE: I seriously wish I could give the hotel 0 stars. The worst hotel I have stayed at. Sadly, we had to stay at this hotel a second time because this is where our tour left us for the first days and the last day. This time, not only is the AC not working (check the pictures, the room is at 27C or 80F!!), but the hot water is not working either. When you ask about it, they just say “it’s broken, we will send someone” and they never do. My parents waited for 2 hours, and they never sent someone to fix it. They only have one person working the reception, even though they get big groups at all time, which makes it very hard or almost impossible to get help. Obviously, the wi-fi situation is still terrible. The worst part though, is that they don’t even say sorry, they have this attitude of “too bad, deal with it”… zero hospitality skills. For the price they charge for rooms, they should improve their skills… and their air conditioner and wi-fi. ——————————- Terrible customer service, amazed that this is a four star hotel with people coming from all over the world, yet the front desk had people who only spoke Italian … nobody spoke Spanish or English… so it has been hard to complain when they cannot understand. Anyways, I came with my family for a tour, and we requested two rooms, one with a queen bed for my parents, and one with two twin beds for my sibling and I. However, we all got twin beds because the hotel overbooked and they don’t have queen beds available. When we talked to them about it, they said that it wasn’t the hotel’s fault (so who’s it?). On top of that, even though we requested with SEVEN months in advance for our rooms to be together, they placed us in very far rooms. Also, the AC doesn’t work 24/7… it only works at night, so the rooms are excruciatingly hot. The only pretty thing the hotel has is the pool, and to be honest it isn’t even that amazing… there are way better pools out there. Lastly, before we got to check in since we had to wait a few hours, we were asking about the things we could do close to the hotel or around, and the front desk staff was unhelpful. Normally, people recommend places, where to get the public transportation, etc, yet we were told to look it up.

-First of all the pool is amazing and the people who works at the bar are helpful and kind. -The rooms has nothing but bed and small desk; there is no iron, no kettle, no slippers. -The room service are not helpful and some of them don’t speak English and some barely speak English. I have asked the lady to give me slippers she said ask the reception, the reception said your room is not premium. -The room needs renovation and they weren’t clean well. - The breakfast was horrible. The main dishes were not fresh(powdered eggs) and the drinks too. - we visited Rome the end of July and it was very hot. The hotel is not fully Air conditioned and the room was very very hot. Not all receptionist are helpful some barely speak English or let say most of them. The restaurant room service don’t response all days. Finally the hotel is full of visitors and has 7th floors and only one elevator the other one was out of order and it for people and luggage.

The staff is not the kindest, the receptionists don’t have the best manners. The waiters at the restaurant are lovely though. Rooms are okay, my mom had trouble sleeping with one single (and really flat) pillow but she ordered 2 extra ones and then she was fine. Breakfast is fine, there’s some food variety, but nothing crazy. I do have to point out that since there are a lot of touristic groups staying in the hotel, mornings, breakfast and evenings are packed with people and it gets quite crowded. Elevators cannot be used during those times because of the amount of people there, we had to use the stairs. The Wifi is not it!! There’s barely any connection.

Absolutely worst experience ever. This hotel was part of our tour and will not recommend it to anyone. At the start I thought everything was going well until we were given a room with no hot water. We then asked for another room which at first they declined to give us and then after getting another room we had no secondary bed for our daughter. They could not accommodate the secondary bed so we requested another room which once we went in the other room we were given 2 single beds and no sofa. I went downstairs to advise of this only to be treated with absolute rudeness by Francesca who firstly after speaking italian was told that best I spoke English. She then went on saying she couldn't help me and what was my problem. The only good thing about the hotel is one gentleman named Raffaele from the bar. He treated us like a friend and unbelievable service. Anyways if you have no issues then fine but if you have any issues don't expect to be treated nicely as they don't give a damn about you.

Do not be fooled by the photos and do not, I say again, do not stay here. I could start and finish with a zero rating but I have more to say. This is not a 4 star hotel by anyone's standard. The room was no bigger than a dog kennel and the air conditioning did not work and there was no fridge. I didn't deal with the staff at all - I was stuck in the room with food poisoning for 2 days - but if the ladies at reception were any indication then I'm sure I didn't miss much. My husband and I stayed here as part of a tour and we were in the middle of finding a different place to stay when I began feeling unwell so I was stuck in a room with no air-conditioning, no room service, and no fridge. Horrible Horrible Horrible.

I would it give 0 starts. We had the worse experience at this hotel. The rudeness of the receptionist and the lack of AC in our rooms made our stay as hell. We arrived at the hotel on July 21, 2023, and received two rooms in which the AC was not working. I waited about half an hour to call reception because I was under the impression that it was my body temperature, then my kids started complaining about the heat. I tried to call, but the phone did not work. I went to the reception and spoke with one of the receptionists, who told me they were calling the AC technician. I went to my room and waited about an hour until I returned to the reception. The receptionist's attitude was careless and rude ( I do not remember his name, but he is from Venezuela because he said to another guest), and he did not care that I had a son with a chronic condition. I sat in the reception area for a long time, observing their performance with other guests with the same issue. I was furious and demanded to call my travel guide to her room because I wanted to move to another hotel with AC. The security was super nice, I explained the situation, and he understood; apparently, it was a call to remove me from the reception area. BTW, I looked online for hotels with AC in the area, and to my surprise, the first on the list was the "Ergife Palace Hotel & Conference Center" I told the guy that this was a false advertisement. Finally, I was given two new rooms with AC after my tour guide spoke with the receptionist and told him she would contact Trafalgar and inform them about the situation. I was planning to stay at that hotel until July 25, 2023, but unfortunately, my son's medication for his cystic fibrosis treatment was stolen from my purse in Rome. When I noticed the issue, I immediately contacted the travel agency to make travel arrangements to return home. I went to the reception to cancel the reservation for the two remaining nights and was informed to contact Reservations because they do not deal with that. I emailed the hotel on July 22, 2023, and have not received an answer. I hope this review helps you to make future travel plans.

If you love waking up in a pool of your own sweat, then this is the place for you. The hotel lobby is lavish and stylish but the actual rooms leave a lot to be desired. The aircon may as well have been an asthmatic blowing at you through a straw. Aside from that the pool and gym set up is quite good. But the rooms need a lot of work.

I will start by saying that this hotel seems amazing on the outside with super big and nice facilities but inside the rooms its a different matter. We arrived around 23h at the hotel. The room when we entered seemed a bit stained in the walls/floor/curtains but we didn't mind much, however, the toilet was disgusting. It had hairs and was semi-wet on the toilet sit. Obviously we asked to be granted a new room. On the second room, we arrived only to find forgotten personal objects of other guests as well as trash and pills. We tried again to request a new room since it was very late and we were exhausted. On the third room we found once again trash and an un-made bed (missing a pillow...). At this point we were done and requested a reimbursement which was not granted. The reception staff didn't apologize a single time and when we asked "even if we get a new room, how are we sure its clean?" he mocked us and just kept saying "its clean". On the forth room (already past midnight) the walls were still stained, the floor still dirty but at least no trash and the toilet appeared acceptable. We did find some hair in the bed covers (inside) but we were just too tired to keep trying. All in all, most disgusting place we have ever been.

Wifi signal and speeds are absolutely atrocious. Carpets in hallway to your room look like they were puked on. TV is tiny and in my case the remote didn’t work. Pool closed when it isn’t summer even though the temperature was a nice crispy 25C. Breakfast was very underwhelming and when I got to the fruits, which I was still holding on to the hope that it could be of decent quality, my orange was dry and old. Decent lobby, looks nice from the outside, 17-25€ 30 min taxi ride to Colosseum area. Room was ok, bathroom was nice and clean looking.

We stayed here as part of a tour group for a family of 3 adults. We got a triple room and our expectations were low to begin with. The room is old and run down, but what disappointed me the most was the bathroom. It didn’t have a door to close of the bathroom so when you are showering, you’re pretty much wide open for your whole family to see. Whoever designed this room maybe forgot to install a door or a privacy screen?? The beds were hard, and pillows were super flat. The third bed was a sofa pull out bed. Hotel is far from everything, so it’s not advisable to stay here if you want to hang out in the city regularly. The wifi wasn’t great, and we were on level one of the building. It would cut out every 30 seconds and you’d have to manually connect again, so it’s pretty much pointless.

My flight was canceled and the airline booked for me a room in this hotel. The hotel is nice, good service, the room I got was ok, but not the same as the website and was not really clean. We had included dinner and breakfast. I couldn’t try the breakfast because I needed it be in the airport very early in the morning, dinner was very cheap buffet (I can imagine because was the airlines passengers) but I believe that they could do better anyway.

Don't get me started. The TV smaller than my laptop. The "mattresses" were stiff and uncomfortable and to be very honest, seemed like sofa cushions. The bathroom was disgusting. There was body hair on the walls, dirty and stained towels that were neatly folded up as if they were new. The hotel restaurant food though is pretty decent

The service of the hotel was very poor, the front desk staff was very indifferent and would keep the guests waiting for a long time, the first day I arrived because I didn't succeed in reserving a room online because the credit card didn't swipe on their side, but I check with my bank which was working. Waited for an hour at the front desk and finally forced us to find another hotel. The second stay, the hotel happened at 4:00 am, 190cm+ Europeans broke into my room, the door was damaged. I shout to them and they run away. I call the front desk and police. The hotel found the two initiators, but did not give me positive feedback. Knowledge changed the room, still on the same floor, and the light in the toilet was broken. With things like this happening I don't know how they can ensure my safety.

3 persons at the reception but one or two of them are always busy doing anything else instead of taking care of the guests, perhaps they should stay at the back office. Check-in was really slow and they offer absolutely no SERVICE in this hotel unfortunately. A standard 3-star hotel. Room is alright, with a small shower bathroom. Hopefully they will have some friendlier & professional employees in near future.

Stayed here because of flight delay, but it’s coming in at $162 euros a night. It has a nice lobby and welcoming staff. Rooms are outdated, with carpet on floors and old school bedding covers. The walls are very thin, and could here my neighbours yelling all night. Difficult to sleep. It’s also a tour bus hotel, resulting in very long lines for breakfast. It is far from Rome and the airport. For this price you can find something in the centre.

We stayed here after our Wizz air flight cancellation. You can see a lot of flight cancellation bookings here. There is a clear segregation between flight travellers and actual hotel guests. The lunch, breakfast and dinner were included but were very basic especially dinner was like a cheap buffet. They also stop serving food after 3 pm which we thought was weird for a 4 star hotel. The room didn't look like they belonged to a 4 star hotel either although the bathroom was good. The carpets in the hallway were dirty. The tv was smaller than my laptop (for The Office fans: it was literally like Michael's plasma tv lol) There is not much to do in this neighborhood, getting to the city can be difficult. They do however have the SIT bus shuttle stop to the the airport 20 min walk away.

We stayed here a total of 3 nights with a tour group. The room number system was confusing, it was the second number of the room number. The lobby is great, lots of seating, comfy bar, nice store. The rooms were pretty updated, the bed was pretty good. Not super comfortable, but did not hurt my back, which was already sore so that was good. Big breakfast setup, nice outdoor bar area, gigantic and beautiful pool! Close to Rome city center. Would definitely stay there next time.

This hotel is more close the airport, so I am here to one night to rest after my time flying in the night. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly, in my bedroom I have fridge, is clean, comfortable, I like. The check in start at 2 pm but the receptionist lady do it to me me at 1 pm, is good, one hour before help me to rest more… now I am going to the hotel restaurant to eat .

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This web site will compare countless booking websites and usually will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in this area. I've been staying here for years. If you choose this place you will love it I'm sure! Nice and cleen rooms, a bit old looking but very charming, very friendly service and awesome pool area. Not very central placement for a weekend in Rome but really nice to relax in between all the walking in Rome. Very recommenced.

Pleasant atmosphere, comfort and attentive staff. Unfortunately, there is not much cleaning, especially in the apartment where we stayed 1744. Another problem was the unexpected extra fee of 49 euros, which was explained to be a public tax for some category hotels. Phenomenal breakfast!

It’s dirty everywhere.. especially the bathroom! Nice collection of molds. I liked that they have a person making great coffee at the breakfast area. Also has a very nice pool.

Mirroring the experience of other latest reviews: lobby and pool/gym seem good, but the rooms are very subpar. No towels provided at the pool. AC is not working properly, when reported, we were just told "it's a hotel-wide issue, it'll be fixed later" and hung up. WiFi is very spotty at best, beds are quite hard, and the pillows are tiny. The only saving grace is it's very nice location and sometimes nice service.

If you wish to book a hotel room in Rome, NEVER choose the Ergife Palace Hotel. Ostensibly a four star hotel, its conference rooms have AC that barely works, its Reception has unhelpful and indifferent staff and WORST OF ALL, two residents of the hotel broke into my room at 4 am last night. They did this by breaking the door, which must have been easy to break (another point against Ergife Palace Hotel). Then I screamed for help and called the Reception. Characteristically, they dilly dallied and didn't come right away. After all, why should they care? They took so long that I had to call the police. The police came and caught them. But they were let off soon after. What difference does it make to such a callous hotel staff if a young lady is assaulted by another resident of their hotel? They made their money, shrugged off my pleas for action by saying "It is over. Move on!" Yes please move on. And out of such a rotten hotel. Don't stay here if you want service or safety!

The only thing nice about this hotel is the pool, which is gorgeous. Service was terrible because there were only two poor receptionists trying to sort out all the issues of 50+ people on a tour. Room keys kept not working multiple times for multiple guests. There were only two elevators running for 6+ floors. Rug in the room itself was really dirty and all ripped up. Breakfast was terrible with fake eggs for scrambled eggs and sad water covered bacon - only thing really edible was the bread and pastries, even the fruit was solid as a rock.

  • 3/5 Christian R. 9 months ago on Google
The Ergife is a very big hotel, lots of space with a beautiful swimming pool. It’s starting to date a little and the bar/restaurant staff are not as attentive as we’d hoped for. Great for large travelling groups/tour groups. I must say the Aperol Spritz at the pool bar is perfect!

  • 3/5 N Q. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel is nicely located outside the crowded city center. Rooms are dated, but clean and spatious. Most staff is really polite, especially the cleaning personnel. The Ergife claims to be 4-star hotel. Perhaps that was the case when it was built in the 80-ies, but compared to today's standards it is far from. Allthough the hotel is located in a quiet part of the city, one should bring ear-plugs. The airco keeps making noise even when turned off competely. The rooms itself are badly insulated, you can hear the neighbours. The bed is OK, but the cushions are silly and give no support. Things you will find in hotels with less stars are not present. In the room there is no coffee/tea, complimentary water is never refilled (we stayed 6 nights). The WiFi at the room is connecting, but not working. WiFi is only performing well in the lobby. Breakfast assortment is very basic. One table consists of cookies and pastries. There is hardly any fresh fruit.

Atmosphere is nice on the outside, but the staff were horrible, rude staff. They treat Asian guest differently. If we Asian guest do something that the other guest are doing, they'll tell us not to do in the cafeteria. They're attitude is horrible and they serve the same food everyday that is plain and boring. The receptionist show expressions of disgust when we speak to them. The beds are painful to sleep on and there is many dirt stains everywhere. Overall had a bad experience with everything.
