(Translated by Google) Giorgio de Chirico's house occupies the upper three floors of the seventeenth-century Palazzetto dei Borgognoni at No. 31 in the Spanish Steps. The artist lived here for the last thirty years of his life, together with his second wife Isabella Pakzswer Far who continued to live there until 1990, the year of his death. Arrived in Rome in 1944, after a long wandering between different European cities and an important stay in New York, de Chirico has been permanently residing in the house of Piazza di Spagna since 1948, at the age of sixty. The house, located in a "strategic" position, in the heart of what was considered the cultural and artistic center of the city since the seventeenth century - with the ateliers of Via Margutta and Via del Babuino, the galleries, the historic Caffè Greco in Via Condotti, as well as the fascinating scenery of Trinità dei Monti and Villa Medici - represented for the mature artist the ideal place to settle down and continue working. Inaugurated on 20 November 1998, the twenty-year anniversary of the disappearance of the Pictor Optimus, the House-Museum offers an exclusive opportunity to get closer to the private and daily world of the artist, as well as to access his original artistic imagination, in a surprising and evocative intertwining between art and life. The restoration of the rooms and furnishings, of typical 1950s taste, where possible, were carried out with philological rigor, according to period photos and historical evidence. The sumptuous rooms on the main floor immerse us in a Rubensian vision of large seventeenth-century halls, with a large number of works, some in precious golden frames, red damask curtains (redone on the basis of the original ones), silver, wooden putti , marble tables and Louis XVI style armchairs: the most vital part of the house, a lively place for meetings and receptions. Paintings and sculptures are exhibited with the aim of making the different subjects and themes elaborated by the Master known to the public, leading us along a fascinating journey: from the selection of works from the 1940s and 1950s - among which some admirable works by Great Masters, portraits of Isabella and self-portraits - passing through the particular corpus of the "Silent Lives" exhibited in the dining room, up to the pictorial production of the last ten years of her career, the so-called "Neometaphysical" period, visible in the new part of the house purchased in the late 1960s. Finally, the bronze sculptures, then gilded or silvered, as silent presences scattered in the various environments, tell the classic myths reinterpreted according to the De Chirico imaginary or the characters of his personal mythography. On the second floor, we find the most intimate rooms of the house, the bedrooms and the artist's studio. The latter, reconstituted as close as possible to the one existing when de Chirico worked on it, undoubtedly represents the most suggestive place: the light that filters through the large skylight of the ceiling rests on the easel and on the numerous objects of the trade - brushes, colors, frames, and the palette used by the Maestro - left there as ready for the next job.

Small group tours of the De Chirico house with English and Italian language guidance. The house is full of the artist’s original furniture and collected works from multiple periods in his life. Guides are friendly and knowledgeable. Pre-booking is required for 7 Euro. Since there isn’t much else to do near the Spanish steps (other than shop and eat at overpriced restaurants) this museum is an easy one-hour activity and well, well worth it.

he Giorgio de Chirico House Museum (Casa Museo di Giorgio de Chirico) is a house museum in the 16th century Palazzetto del Borgognoni at Piazza di Spagna 31 in Rome. The house was acquired by Giorgio de Chirico in 1948. It was left to the state by his widow and opened as a museum in 1998. Only open by appointment, it is closed on Mondays and Sundays. The nearest Metro stop is Spagna.

House museum of Giorgio and Isabella De Chirico, in the heart of Rome, on Piazza di Spagna. It is the apartment where Giorgio De Chirico lived the last years of his life together with his wife Isa, who will continue to live there after the artist's passing for another 12 years, until his death. Entrance by reservation only and the ticket costs €8, free for children under 12 years old. Guided tour included. The guide was very interesting, he was knowledgeable and passionate. Too bad about the closed terraces.

This tour was great - you only need about an hour, you see di Chirico’s house and studio and a lot of his work up close and personal. Our tour guide was kind, hospitable and knowledgeable and it was a relief to experience an intimate tour after the hordes at the Vatican Museum (and just a fraction of the price too!). This memory will remain one of the highlights of my two weeks spent in Rome.

(Translated by Google) Prior reservation must be made on the website. There are 3 visits 10, 11 and 12 hours. Closed Mondays I know x I was a Monday. It is not clear on the web. Too bad he is one of my favorite artists and I won't be back in Rome for a long time. They should take another type of policy given De Chirico's importance in the art world. (Original) Se debe hacer reserva previa x página web. Great little museum. Great guide. It’s just a pity that the famous paintings have all been taken to museums long ago. But there is a lot of late de Chirico that is almost as good as the early one.

In the heart of Rome...in Piazza di Spagna...an attic used as a home/studio/art gallery...the great artist lived here for the last 30 years of his life...the house is now managed by De Chirico foundation, by will of the latter and his wife, to offer all enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts access to a place as intimate as it is private!! Guided tour, by reservation only, at a cost of 8 euros (reductions apply) carried out by guides from the foundation itself who with passion and professionalism accompany you inside the house, on two floors, to discover the most private side of the artist. It's a shame that the terraces cannot be visited... due to accessibility issues. ..anyway, a visit is highly recommended to discover a real gem that isn't advertised so much!!

For art lovers I recommend a visit to Giorgio De Chirico's house museum. Located on the famous Piazza di Spagna on the top floor of a historic building, the house is a journey that retraces, with its works, the artistic memory of Giorgio De Chirico. A bourgeois two-storey apartment with large halls covered with paintings dating back to the classical and metaphysical periods. The visit is reserved for a few people so it is managed through the online site where you can book the day and time while payment is made on site. The highly trained guide will welcome you inside the structure to accompany you and tell you about one of the greatest exponents of Italian culture of the 20th century.

I was in Rome in October with a group of friends, 14 people in total. During this trip we also visited the apartment and studio of the Italian artist Giorgio de Chiricò. The artist's (posh) apartment is not far from the Spanish Steps. You get a great impression; it feels like de Chiricò is about to arrive (even though he died in 1978). EVERYTHING in the studio is left as it was at the time of his death in 1978. We received a very good tour from the art history-savvy guide Federica (high praise!); THANKS! I can highly recommend this visit. But you definitely have to register in advance!

An incredible experience made more so by the curator and guide Federica Polenta, a woman who is more than knowledgeable, personable, and truly willing to engage. Giorgio De Chirico was an artistic genius who never stopped learning and perfecting, as displayed across the decades of his art present in his palazzo. His equally gifted wife (as a business woman) is to thank for this wonderful fondazione.

A pearl "in the center of the center of the world" as De Chirico said. Even for those who understand little about art but are fascinated by it (like me) I highly recommend the visit. The guide is very good and knowledgeable, the apartment contains the life and thoughts of De Chirico. The view is breathtaking. It deserves it.

(Translated by Google) The young lady who acted as our guide was very courteous and dedicated half an hour of her time to us. I think seeing the places where the artist lived is better than seeing 100 paintings in order to extrapolate his personality. The apartment is on two floors plus a third which is a splendid terrace that cannot be visited (to common mortals), many of his paintings hanging on the walls, statues on the tables or even on the ground .. the apartment takes place between number 31 and the 32 of piazza di Spagna, the union of the two apartments is also noted for the step and the different heights of the ceilings. Although it is not precisely in my ropes I recommend everyone to pay a visit to this house museum even just to appreciate its splendid view or to discover that de Chirico was making an aperitif with punt & mes ... those little habits that can be grasped visiting this apartment. The kitchen area cannot be visited also because it has become part of the foundation's offices. Last gem ... de Chirico and his wife had separate rooms..the best choice for a long and frictionless wedding🤣 (Original) La signorina che ci ha fatto da guida è stata molto cortese e ci ha dedicato mezzora del suo tempo.

(Translated by Google) Rome is always crowded with tourists wherever you go, but it was the most memorable place in Rome for me as I was tired of it. If you like De Chirico, you should definitely go! An online reservation is required for the visit. From 10:00 or 11:00 I could choose the day I went. I can not enter unless I switch to English and make a reservation. (Payment is on site, you pay 7 euro cash. I think it is cash only. There was no cancellation fee if you do not go. It is a very homely museum.) Four times in the building, the entrance is quite "Futsu". Signs and Kiriko's letters were not written so large that they did not match, but if there was a sculpture in the back right, it would be suitable. (I think there is a security person at the entrance, and if you talk there, it will be opened by people.) The explanation was in English, but it was easy for Italians to explain it in Italian. It was an environment where I could do anything I wanted to know and ask questions in English. The TV that Kiriko was watching was Sony's TV, and the Japanese are a little happy! The house is full of Isabella, my second wife, and Kiriko's personality, which she liked. To be honest, Kiriko seems to have been an old-fashioned Italian uncle. This museum was healing because Rome was too crowded. I was more impressed by Kiriko's home than Plaza Espanya!

The visit to the house museum of the famous painter was one of the best experiences I have had since I lived in Rome: for only €8 they do guided tours in Italian or English lasting an hour, explaining many things about his life and his pictorial style. The guide was also very good, I think her name was Federica
