St. Angelo Bridge is a Rome highlight! Walking across it felt like stepping into history with the Tiber River below and the majestic Castel Sant'Angelo in view. The atmosphere is enchanting, especially at sunset. Perfect spot for Instagram-worthy photos and a quintessential Roman experience! Don't miss it!

A gorgeous, gorgeous ancient Roman bridge decorated with renaissance and baroque sculptures. The views of the Bridge and the Vatican as well as Castel d'Angelo alone are worth coming to Rome for. A must. Simply.

The place looks stunning at sunset & night time. Suitable to schedule after a day in Vantican, in your walk back to Rome centre. The walk along the river has a lot of nice spots to stop to feel the vibe of Rome

It is an amazing bridge with beautiful view and destination. It is really close to Vatican so you can combine these two amazing place and visit them in the same day. The walk is easy and lovely at both places. There is love in the air and a lot is happening. It is a must see and walk in Rome. The vibe during the day is completely different than night so make sure you visit it both during the day and during the night which is really magical. If you go to Rome and don’t stop here forget it you need to pack your bag and make another trip there. I love it there and hopefully you did it too.

Probably the most photographed bridge in Rome, and for a good reason. It is gorgeous and it has great views of the Vatican as well as Sant Angelo Castle. Most tourists headed to the Vatican will take this bridge as it appears as the most direct route, therefore the place can get crowded. Watch your wallet, and enjoy the splendor!

The statues on the bridge sides were very delicate. The night view of the St.Angelo was also nice.

An amazing landmark in Rome. Great way to start your walk to st peters plaza. The place can get very crowded at day so make sure to check it also during the evening.

The bridge crossing the Tiber in front of the Castel Sant'Angelo was also built by Emperor Hadrian in 139 AD. It was the primary bridge used by Christian pilgrims visiting St Peter's Basilica, so Gian Lorenzo Bernini was commissioned to add 10 angels to the bridge. Bernini sculpted two of the angels himself, but the pope considered them too beautiful to be exposed to the elements, so he moved Bernini's angels indoors, and they were replaced on the bridge with copies. Each of the ten angels is carrying one of the Instruments of the Passion, objects associated with the crucifixion of Jesus, such as the crown of thorns, the cross, and the nails.

This bridge is lovely but watch out for scammers here it is full of them!! The main ones they try to get you with is putting a bracelet on your wrist for "free" DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! It is not free they try forcing you to pay after they put it on your wrist They also seem to run away when police are nearby, tells you all you need to know really...

1900+ year old bridge with ten angel sculptures (five on each side) symbolizing the crucification of Jesus Christ designed by Bernini adorn the bridge crossing the Tiber River. No matter how many times I see it, it still feels unreal. Like walking into a postcard of living history, it’s nice to stop and take a few moments to take it all in.

The bridge is obviously beautiful. It's lined by angel statues and lanterns that really pop in the early morning and sunset hours. At sunrise this bridge is absolutely empty. You'll likely he one of a few people enjoying the entire span. By sunset, you'll find hundreds of people crowded along it. They'll mostly be tourists enjoying the area and panhandlers trying to sell you purses, bracelets, and others trinkets. This area provides a great sunset view at the price of being over crowded.

A nice bridge that leads you directly to Castel Sant' Angelo and offers you very nice views say sunset and sunrise of Saint Peter's Basilica (Vatican) and Basilica of Ambrose and Charles. At night when the bridge's lamps and the castle's lights turn on the view to the castle gets even nicer. Make sure you pay this place a visit or two!

Beautiful bridge that is now pedestrian only and leads to the Castel Sant’Angelo. It’s easy to walk quickly through, but worth taking a moment to look at the statues in more detail.

A beautiful bridge to cross in Rome to the castle and a picturesque and tranquil scene in itself. The views are stunning from this location and are well worth the trip.

A good place to take photos with the St. Angelo Castle. But the bridge is poorly maintained as there were too many graffiti, really disturbed the immersion. The angels on the side are worth taking a look, personally they are not my cup of tea so I could only look at them and say “wow, a really sophisticated statue”. But then I imagined years and years ago, if i could visit this place in its prime, how spectacular it would look to walk into the castle!

Nice bridge, view of castle is great…hawkers and music artists are there on the sides….view of the river down is also amazing….

A lovely bridge that is worth the walk through. It is filled with hawkers, but the statues and the general view around the area is beautiful. Would recommend going down the stairs and walking around the water as well as seeing the bridge from the other bridges in the area in order to get a fuller view. If you're in the area, definitely worth a visit, but not worth going out of your way to visit.

The bridge is a gorgeously created piece of architecture that fits in superbly to its setting. St Peters is to one side and the Castel St Angelo at the end of the bridge. The angels on the bridge are just masterpieces of sculpture and what make the city such a magnet for visitors. The bridge is pretty busy, no surprise, but the atmosphere is lovely and early morning or late evenings allow relatively tourist free views.

A pedestrian bridge crossing the Tiber river, Sant’Angelo bridge was built by the Roman with wonderful views of the surrounding monuments like Sant’Angelo castle and the Vatican and the nearby park of the last century, Mole Adriana park, a well landscaped park. The bridge is well known for couple in love, who cross it declaring their love for each other.

📅 27-02-2023 📍 Rome, Italy Castel Sant'Angelo's historical significance and architectural beauty were truly captivating. Exploring its ancient chambers and enjoying the panoramic views was an immersive journey into the past. The weather was pleasant, making the walk across St. Angelo Bridge enjoyable. The bridge itself is a sight to behold, adorned with statues and offering scenic views of the Tiber River.

A must-see and walk on in Rome! The architecture is stunning! The bridge is decorated with many statues, starting with 2 apostles, then 10 angels, and at the top of the castle, the statue of the archangel! Everything is designed to lead your eye to the magnificence of the mega structure.

On a spring day a walk along the Tiber is a pleasant way to spend an hour. Get away from the crowds and just enjoy the view of the Castel Sant' Angelo and the many bridges that cross the Tiber.

Very busy but an amazing bridge to see and made for some very pretty pictures. About half way you can easily take a nice picture of the river with the dome of St Peter's and the statues along the bridge are gorgeous.

Beautiful bridge over the Tibor leading to the Castle. Busy but pick your moment and you can grab a stunning photo. Lots of street vendors though!

Beautiful but crowded! There are nice statues along the bridge, the background with the castle makes it a perfect shot. However, it’s pretty crowded so not easy to have a good shot.

The views are absolutely magical and what was also very nice was the museum showing the history of the castle, would also be great to have a display of the history in video form as for example it was there long before the cathedral of sainfmt Peter's.

In the heart of Rome lies the resting place of great Emperor Hadrian. The ornate bridge crossing river Tiber to the massive tomb is almost an equal spectacle to behold. It’s one of the nicest places in the country to catch a sunset with plenty of amazing food within walking distance
