Free, fast, and fabulous! They have some nice mosaics and paintings to see. You can also look into an ancient section next it from the back of the sanctuary portion of the church. Recommend stopping by while near the colosseum!

A beautiful basilica in the midst of the Forum. Incredible mosaics.

It is a very nice church, quiet and far from traffic. The entrance is from via Fori Imperiali through a small courtyard. There is always someone inside the courtyard so feel free to ask informations

Very old Basilica here in Rome. Must visit this historic building. Not be disappointed.

This was a bit of a find. We we sitting down on a wall near the Roman Forum and just saw this Basilica and thoughts we’d visit. Firstly there is a really nice courtyard inside. Inside there is a room with a model of a Roman scene. The Basilica itself is beautiful with a fabulous frieze on the ceiling. Well worth a visit.

Such a magnificent building. The interior of the church was so calm and serene. I was able to send up a prayer and light a candle 🕯 as well. Definitely worth visiting.

Amazing ancient Rome mini pantheon visible to rear of the Church through glass viewing wall. Also the studded wall outside.. this is the actual wall that held the ancient Roman urbis street map ! The holes are were the studs kept the map to the wall situated then in a side chamber adjacent the Temple of Peace.

highly recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time. Weekdays are much better than weekends.

Beautiful mosaics

This church of St Cosmas and Damien has some unique hidden treasures.. The stones of antiquity., statue of St Francis of Assisi, Scene of Jesus's Nativity, unique art and architecture. Its very near to Coloseum and Foro Romano. If you find some time. Do visit.
