Warm, friendly and eclectic setting for a great Chicago beef or hot dog. Bring your own mustard.

This is a great place for a quick lunch or dinner if you're in the mood for a Chicago style hotdog or a decent Italian beef sandwich. We both had Italian beef sandwiches with hot peppers and gravy on the side for dipping. The sandwich was good, not the best I've had but not at all bad. The meat was tender and served hot and there was plenty of it. I'd definitely go back and have another. The fries were standard crinkle fries. They were cooked well and crunchy. Not too exciting but good with the sandwich. We ate outside where there was plenty of comfortable seating. Inside was definitely a great atmosphere with cool decor but the weather was way too nice to stay in. Accessibility: the only bathroom is upstairs. There is an elevator but that's a major hassle so be aware of this if you're in a wheelchair or have a mobility impairment. The button to open the accessible door isn't functioning in either direction. The other door is a revolving door so wheelchairs cannot use it. There is plenty of handicap parking.

My partner is from Chicago-land, and I’ve been wanting to try Portillos ever since I watched an Eater video featuring the chocolate cake shake. However, I wasn’t aware that Portillos existed in Minnesota until recently. I was also turned off by the lack of vegetarian options. My partner and I were in Roseville today to pick something up, and we noticed Portillos. We decided that we HAD to stop, and it was definitely the right decision. We ordered a large cheese fry, chocolate cake shake, and 2 veggie dogs. Apparently, Portillos just started carrying Chicago-style veggie dogs, and we couldn’t have been happier about the pleasant surprise. The service was fast and friendly! It seemed like the folks working there were in high spirits and having a good time. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. I love the tanginess of a chicago dog! The cake shake was rich and delightful. It made me want to try a slice of their chocolate cake. The fries were hot and fresh, and the cheese was a fun addition. Overall, I was blown away! I loved the festive, kitschy atmosphere too. I felt like I was in chicago for a brief moment. Please keep serving veggie dogs!!! As long as there’s a veggie option at Portillos, I’ll come back!

The food was horrible! I ordered the Maxwell polish, fries and a 4 piece chicken tenders. The polish was not hot, the onions were burnt, the fries were old and dry, the chicken tenders were hard as a rock!!😡 eeewww! Money down the drain!!

Ordered for Delivery, unfortunately didn’t get our complete order (missed a burger) which took some time on the phone than app 📱 to resolve, but did get handled in the end about 30 minutes later. The Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken 🥗 was delish though. Good amount of dressing and a little House Bread 🥖 as a side. 😁 So the food made up for the Service, which I know is challenging for Restaurants (wage vs work ethic)

Lots of room, fun decor! The buns for the burgers were so fresh and tasty. The bacon cheese burger was great!

My 1st time, and what a great experience. The Italian beef with sausage (#5) easily something I will remember for a long time.

Very nice Portillo's. The food was good, fries are the best, my wife's burger was perfect. I had the jumbo dog - you can't ruin one of those if you tried. The decor is always fun at a Portillo's! We are originally from the Chicago, Illinois area and have visited many Portillo's over many years so we know them well. This one was good, not great. The downside was the service was slow while the restaurant itself did not have too many customers. And the two Cokes we had: one was flat and tasted like diet (which wasn't ordered) and the other was heavily carbonated and had just enough syrup to color the drink but not at all enough flavor. The dispensing equipment may need to be calibrated....
