While this state park has some unique overlooks and scenery, on a whole it's about average compared to others. There's lots of hiking opportunities, but the trails aren't the best. This state park seems to be more geared for fishing and boating than anything else. Some of the trails were over-grown with vegetation and had scores of spider webs strewn across the path, so they clearly haven't been in much use, which can be a good way to get away from crowds. Well, other than the crowds of spiders on the yellow trail system.

The campground is beautiful. There are very few level sites. Ours was ok because of the deck. The fire ring was down the hill. The camp store is fantastic. They have everything you need that you forgot to bring. They even have Perry's ice cream.

We LOVE Paint Creek. This was our 3rd visit in 3 years and had decided to make this our last visit since we don't like to repeat campgrounds.... UNTIL we arrived and set up in our favorite site. It is so beautiful and peaceful. We usually spend 1 day viviting our favorite stores in the area and a couple of days just disconnecting and recharging ourselves. We will be back next year!

Our sites (108, 110)were very narrow with steep drop off the asphalt. (#dangerous). No river view from 110, good view from 108. Having a deck for the table was nice after a rain. But fire ring was on the other side of the pad. No level place for anything like a gazebo or sitting as a group around the fire. The site next to us (106) had a large trailer. The folks had to park on the road. They should limit trailer length on some of these sites. MAKE SURE you bring your Ohio Buckeye Card, or you will get charged full price... even if you have a valid Ohio driver's license. This is a flaw of the Buckeye Card program, as well as inconsistent checking of the B. Card at Ohio State Parks.

Beautiful and clean park. Many of the campsites are really sloped off the edges of the pads. Store was very nice. There were deer (and crows) everywhere. We would go back

Stayed at the horse camp very quiet, well maintained, new pit toilet, potable water and plenty of trees to hang our sleeping hammocks.
