We visited this fish bar twice on our holiday in Kent for a sit in meal and loved the food on both occasions. The first visit I was split between Rock and Saveloy whereby the waitress said I could have a bit of both which was a sterling suggestion. It was a delicious combination. The Haddock was also fabulous apparently. The second visit I just stuck for Saveloy and was overjoyed to see two Saveloys with the chips. It was lovely. The chips are really tasty too. The staff serving are all a nice bunch too.

Simply the best fish and chips in Rye, freshly cooked, high quality fish. Can’t wait to return. They have a drinks license too. Excellent value and service with a smile. Thank you !!

I had heard great things of this chip shop so was disappointed once we finally went there. Our order wasn't taken correctly and we were over charged. Not a good start. Once it did arrive the fish had been brutally over cooked and the calamari, well didn't represent any calamari I have ever had before. The chips were with S+V, even though we had asked (surely a must for most fish and chip shops in the UK) The mushy peas were missing and you had to pay 20p for a wee sachet of sauce. On the plus side the chips were high quality but I wouldn't come back here. Reading the other reviews makes me think we got dealt a bad card. Which is almost more disappointing.

Huge portions. Had the haddock with fries which was delicious. Could only finish half. Also had the calamari, curry sauce. Calamari was ok the coating was a bit thick. Curry sauce was a classic. Accommodating staff. Clean and relatively fast eat in. Recommended..

At 2:30pm with all the restaurant’s kitchens closed already we came here to eat. The food is quite good. My haddock was very tasty and I really liked also the onion rings. The chips didn’t have taste but they give you many sauces to dip in. We spent less than 50 pounds with 2 fishes&chips, a portion of onion rings, a mushy peas and 2 beers

We had haddock and it was really nice! Big serving sizes. Really good service as well. My only issue was with the tartar sauce which was in small packets like ketchup and Mayo; not a fan of that.

Had an eat in meal with Friends 9/08/23...honestly the best fish and chips we've ever had. Absolutely incredible all round.

Delicious fresh fish and chips. Always gets busy, but the staff work quickly and are so friendly. Reasonably priced. Parking isn't available outside, but the village has a couple of car parks with pay and display nearby by.

Absolutely gutted to be honest, I had visited Marino's Rye back in March and had lovely meal there. The fish was very fresh and lovely chips with a decent sized portion of mushy peas. This visit on Sunday 30th July was abysmal, we ordered a large cod and chips with mushy peas and Scampi and chips with mushy peas. Each meal was £14 plus £1.80 for the mushy peas, my partners Scampi meal was the size if a kids portion with totally overcooked chips. My cod was large but I left a third of it as it was so dry, my chips were also like scraps. The mushy peas, well the size of the portion was about a mouthful. (And no I haven't got a big mouth) I said to my partner that I was going to complain but she asked me not to get upset, we ate what we could and went to pay, the young man asked if everything was OK? I said unfortunately not and explained the above, he said " sorry about that, it will be £35.80 please". I was unaware that my partner was having a word with another member of staff, she asked where we were sitting and went with my partner to see what we had left. She told her that she would knock off the cost of one meal, when she came to the till she actually only reduced the bill by a portion of chips. We actually showed her a photo of the lovely meal we had in March compared to this time. All in all a very disappointing visit, the only good thing was the lovely waitress serving us on table 1 in the small restaurant. Thank you to her.

Based on the previous reviews we decided that we needed to try the food here, we weren’t disappointed! The fish (Cod) was so tasty and the portions were generous. The kids meals were good as well for their size and the kids said they were tasty! Definitely worth a visit.

Food was very tasty. Guys were pleasant and relatively quick. Fish was freshly cooked and chips were amazing. Only complain is my fish was surprisingly small and the pie was still a little cold. But on the whole all good.
