So this Geyser is part of a show which is activated by putting a soap into it which makes it erupt. It feels a little artificial. I would recommend going to see it unless your keen to go to the Giothermal wonderland - which was great!

Wasn't exactly the best. The explosion lasted for at max. 45 seconds and didn't reach the expected 15 metres. The geyser was also started with a quick speech for safety and then just soap being added to make the anti-climatic start. Wasn't worth the time especially not exploding on time.

Firstly - be warned - it's a geyser. So, some days, it can be large. The day we were there, it didn't do too much. At least, the operators can put on something at a set time, which is what people want. It is essential to arrange your tickets online or get there well ahead of the start time (check the site). If you don't get them online, you need to go to the visitor centre, park, get the tickets, and then drive back to the geyser to park again. As you would expect, just before the geyer is peak time. We had a few people who were effectively turned away (for their own good) as they were going to be too late. All that said, the staff are as prepared as they can be, with a pop-up ticket stall and they get you moving pretty quickly. They do a good job. Make sure you see the rest of the thermal wonderland.

Funny presentation before the eruption. The eruption itself was initiated artificially, but otherwise you would have to wait up to 72 hours so in that way you can see it every 24 hours. There are many opportunities to sit although I would recommend to go to the front as everybody stands on the benches when the geyser is errupting so you don't see much.

Arrived early to check out the Geyser which is a timed eruption at 10:15am every day by a park guide adding biodegradable soap into the geyser cone which takes 5-10min after to produce the eruption. Cost is excessive at $32 odd NZD for what it is? Cost also allows access to geothermal & mud pools. The stench of the sulphur smell at some of the geothermal pool to me is overwhelming & can be sickening.

Before going, we were very curious about how it goes eruption once a day. After visit, we knew the truth lol. The eruption of water could reach about 7-10 meters high. Cool If you haven't seen before, you can have a try. Not a bad experience.

One of the most magical experiences of Rotarura. Our guide welcomed everyone, took us on a journey through history explained the geology of the geyser. As the geyser gushed we were delightfully serenaded in local language. A thoroughly unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.

At Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, Lady Knox breathtaking geyser that shoots up over 10 meters when it erupts. The staff there are really friendly and they explain how they trigger the eruption right before your eyes. It's an incredible sight to witness. Just remember, the geyser show is only included in the Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland ticket and it happens at 10.15 AM each day. So, make sure you don't miss that time slot or you won't be able to see it. It's definitely worth the ticket price to experience this amazing natural wonder.

Entry to view the geyser is included with your thermal Wonderland ticket. The fact that they make the geyser go off by throwing soap into it is a bit of a disappointment although it is spectacular when it does. There is only one performance daily and you need to be there about 30 minutes before to get a good parking spot and a good view. The gates to the area are shut after the morning's presentation so there is only one chance a day to enter the area

The eruption happens around 10.15 after a short talk. The eruption is caused by staff adding soap to induce the eruption. The eruption lasts for over 30 seconds and starts with bubbles and then an impressive eruption.

They manually set it off once a day - make sure to check out when it is otherwise you'll miss it. Think volcano science experiment, but a wee bit bigger! Pretty cool to see.

Only One per day, timed, forced and paid. Not worth it. You have better geyser options in NZ. You go to the visitor center for the ticket, go back to the geyser, see it, and then probably go back for the actually good thermal walk tour.

Lady Knox Geyser in Rotorua, New Zealand offers a unique and unexpected experience. Unlike natural geysers that erupt on their own, Lady Knox Geyser is induced to erupt through a fascinating process. This unexpected twist might come as a surprise to visitors who anticipate witnessing a spontaneous eruption. However, once the eruption is induced, the geyser puts on a spectacular show, shooting water and steam high into the air. The controlled eruption is still a sight to behold, showcasing the power and beauty of nature. While the initial surprise may catch you off guard, witnessing the eruption of Lady Knox Geyser is a memorable experience that adds a unique twist to your visit to Rotorua.

It is cool see, admittedly I was expecting the eruption to be naturally like clock work but in fact it is just detergent added to get it going. Though the geyser with the bubbles was a cool effect. The biggest issues was getting there. You were not allowed to walk so if you don’t have your own transport you cannot go. We, and a load of others did walk. It is busy mind as well so get there early for a seat

They have a short show every morning before setting off the geyser. It’s a good way to learn a bit of history. The guide sang a traditional song while the geyser was erupting, which was very beautiful. Worth a stop if you’re here in the morning! Parking is a nightmare getting out as everyone leaves at once down a narrow road.

Although the geyser doesn't erupt naturally and is partially man made, it is still quite impressive. The guide explained the history of the area and how they discovered that they could trigger an eruption. She then went on to demonstrate it. The show starts at 10.15 am on the days they are open and there's parking right next to the geyser.

An interesting experience with an informative guide who related the history of the geyser and then triggered the eruption. Quite impressive to watch. Stand close, get soaked, just saying.

If you've been one of the very fortunate ones to have visited the Yellowstone National Park and seen the Old Faithful in action, You may find Lady Knox geyser a bit underwhelming. But, by itself this is quite grand. This geyser needs a bit inducing and erupts only once a day between 10:15 and 10:30am. There is a person who gives a pep talk and then puts some surfactant to induce an eruption. So, be sure to get there with time to spare. Cause, it takes time to get the tickets and drive up and park up here. There is a nice viewing area for people to sit and enjoy the show. This throws about 30000 litres of water and I have seen it go up to 10 and 20metres

Worth visiting this to watch the geyser 'go up.' Only happens once a day at 10.15 so allow enough time to get there. The guide was fab and gave a good background history of the geyser before it 'went up'

Great preamble by the guide with some interesting local history. Enjoyed watching the geyser go off, our son has been talking about it regularly since so ot has definitely made an impression!

Nice introduction, impressive geyser. Had to wait for quite a while, advised to go up early but lots of people, including busses were a bit late, so we waited for them

Had a great day at this place starting with the lady Knox geyser show. It is made to erupt by the park ranger putting a bar of eco soap into the hole. So the show is at a fixed time if 10:15. Sometimes it gives a good eruption and sometimes not so good. We had to go buy tickets at the main centre and go back to the geyser. So give yourself 30 minutes to do that. The rest of the park is fantastic.

It was a lovely winters day with clear blue skies. I was surprised to find out the geyser was given a little boost to help it erupt but it makes perfect sense when the tour guide explains the well designed process. Worth a visit

Not sure how this goes off around 10.15am every day, I have a feeling it is what is added to the geyser by the person conducting the talk about the history of the geyser. I would get their early as around a 200m walk from the car park and traffic is crawling from 10 to get a park, purchasing tickets online the best idea.
