Einfach traumhaft! Einmal um die Insel sind 1,4 km und man kann dabei so viel entdecken: Kleine Ateliers und Läden, kleine und große Gastronomie, ein Spielplatz, ein Kloster und jede Menge schöne Aussichten auf die Alpen und den Chiemsee!

The Fraueninsel is a proper island with normal people living there - compared to the Herreninsel with its castle. There are no cars and life has its own pace here. Well worth a visit, not least for the spectacular vistas.

The Herren- and Fraueninsel are a must see if you are in the Munich region. If you have a day off/available, drive to Prien and take a boat roundtrip to both islands. The Frauninsel is much smaller but has way more restaurants and options to choose from when it comes to food. If you are here in the summer, I recommend to enjoy the nice lawn just next to the monastery - there is plenty of shade - an ideal location for a picnic. Around Christmas, I would recommend to visit the Christmas market on the island. It is full but worth it.

Die traditionelle bayerische Küche wird hier serviert und es gibt eine große Auswahl an regionalen Spezialitäten. Die Biergärten bieten zudem eine gemütliche Atmosphäre um sich mit den leckeren Speisen 🍗und Getränken🍻 zu stärken. Insgesamt ist die Fraueninsel ein wunderbares Ausflugsziel für Familien. Die kurze Überfahrt, der Badespaß im klaren Wasser und das gute Essen in den Wirtshäusern machen den Tag zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis.
