Würzburg
Old
Main
Bridge
is
a
meeting
place
for
young
and
old.
It's
tradition
to
meet
at
the
bridge
and
have
some
wine
and
onion
cake....
and
the
cake
was
actually
pretty
good
👍
Old
Main
Bridge
was
rebuilt
1473–1543
to
replace
the
destroyed
Romanesque
bridge
dated
from
1133.
The
main
reason
for
tourists
and
locals
to
visit
the
bridge
is
the
'Brückenschoppen'
which
means
to
enjoy
a
glass
of
local
Franken
wine.
And
because
of
this
tradition,
the
bridge
is
also
known
as
Wine
Bridge
of
Würzburg!
Wine
pries
range
from.
10€
to
5.50€.
The
tables
set
up
on
the
bridge
in
front
of
the
wine
restaurant
are
for
table
service
and
waiters
will
come
to
serve
you.
There
is
a
small
premium
for
that.
Otherwise
you
line
up
and
get
it
yourself.
There
is
a
5€
glass
deposit.
You
get
it
back
when
you
return
the
glasses.
You
are
not
allowed
to
set
the
glass
on
the
railing
(like
I
did
in
the
photo)
or
you
get
in
trouble
lol.
Just
get
told
not
to
do
it
😊
I
would
say,
this
is
another
must
see/must
visit
place/city
in
Germany!!!!
Easy
to
get
to
once
in
Würzburg.
You
can't
miss
it.
We
did
a
walking
tour
of
the
city
and
the
guide
brought
us
here.
Really
not
far
to
walk
anywhere
downtown.
We
visited
in
Beginning
of
October
2023.
Just
before
the
students
came
back
to
school...
in
about
a
week
there
were
approximately
34,000
students
coming
back.
