Great folks! Those complaining about "lowball" offers, IT'S A PAWN SHOP, why did you walk into one thinking they were going to give you top dollar? They've got expenses in running the business for one, but how have you never in your life heard that pawn shops are not the place to go to get top dollar. Want more for your items, do the work yourself, sell it on ebay, or Facebook Marketplace, where you'll have the added pain of shipping or meeting up with a stranger. Also keep in mind, just because you think something is worth an amount, does not make it so. If your item is a tough seller, any reseller is going to give you less, because now they're out the money and may not get it back for years.

Never been to this location but I sure in the hell feel like I have considering i spent most of my free time watching YouTube videos on the shop. So I just want to say this guy pet is a real winner 🏆🏆 and would love to actually go visit this Business

Went in to try and sell to the staff if they were interested, and buy an item I saw on the shelf. I waited around for 10-15 minutes for this guy to stop talking to some girl about a band, and how he’s a drummer. The guy pushes and pushes for a sale after hearing her say multiple times she’s not interested, won’t buy it today. Gonna check out guitar center, and her band mates Store first… meanwhile multiple customers (including me) interested in ACTUALLY purchasing/selling items are blown off because this guy is a drummer. I tried to get the guy to catch the hint without being rude but his social awareness is non existent. First and last interaction with this place. Go to Big Al’s Trading instead.

I've been watching the "Craigslist Hunter" since being locked down. Peter is a straight shooter, very fair and a good guy to do business with. Vicky is the quiet one and tied with Honey as my favorite. Ruby is the loud one, in person. My favorite pawn shop I've ever visited, very friendly staff. And better than the the famous shop out west!

This is hands down the all-around best resale shop in all of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Solid value and great selection will get you in the door, but the overall quality of the goods will keep you coming back. Nick, Ryan, and Peter are friendly, super knowledgeable, and totally honest.

Ignore the 1 star reviews from losers who tried to sell junk for top dollar new price. Pete is a great guy and he treats people respectfully and fairly. I have been there once and they have a lot of nice merchandise at fair prices. I saw some antiques i would buy in a second but I flew in to Chicago from Arizona and obviously couldn’t take them home. I could’ve shipped via UPS but unfortunately they have been less than reliable in treating merchandise carefully. My favorite store! I always bring all my friends here because they have so much cool stuff. They're very down to earth and always welcoming. Love this place!

The staff and owner are straight shooters. They’re not brokers nor a pawn shop. Just an upstanding resale shop. They pay upfront, giving you half of what they expect to get from selling your unwanted goods. They overpay, as far as I’m concerned. I’ve done quite a few transactions with them; dumping off my cordless tools when I see something bright and shiny and new. Always fair. Always honest. They deal with eBay, shipping and packing and whatnot so I don’t have to. Totally worth it for me.

Purchased a lawn mower here less then a month ago. Sale man assured me it was in working order. I have not ever cut the grass successfully both times I tried to use it the mower quit running and was over heating and smoking. Totally waste of $100

I was messaging a guy about a bike. I had texted for 2 days told him I would be there 5:30 today. Got there at 5:25 to be told they sold it 45 minutes ago knowing I was coming. Never in the message did he say it was first come if he wasn't going to hold it I would have left a deposit if that was the case.

Watched YouTube video and saw something awesome in the background. Called and spoke with Ryan and asked about it. He gave a great price for the item. Went the next morning to pickup the item for sale as promised, and found other items at the same time. This place is awesome and staff is great to work with. Highly recommend and well worth the drive.

I stopped in to try to sell some vintage coins. This mangled looking smelly cat is literally walking over another customers property while she was waiting for me to finish up. I could tell she was getting very aggravated with the dirty rodent. What does the guy working do? He starts talking in this weird femmy voice telling the damn cat how cute it is. He’s lucky I didn’t snap the cats neck! Needless to say I won’t be returning!

Wow!! What a treasure trove of unique, collectable and useful items. Why go anywhere else for a seemingly endless selection of tools, bicycles, gaming supplies, music and audio equipment, and great antiques and collectables. A one stop Christmas shop that is guaranteed to save you a bunch of money. The Trading Post is the best!

Pawn shops are for pushies. I love these reviews of people trying to get top dollar at resale shops, pawn shops, or Craigslist. If you want top dollar do the work yourself. If you want a fair price and better than pawn shops with cash in hand, come here. I came here because I was in the area and I’ll come here again because I was treated fairly and a better experience than any place I’ve been to. Owner wasn’t there but I found out through reviews that he has a Youtube, saw some videos and the guy gave people feedback and advice on how they could possibly get more…total transparency…he runs a business(lol), you’ll get it if you see a video(Craigslist Hunter)…HONEY AND RUBY 4LIFE

I will update when I actually have a chance to visit, but I doubt that will be necessary. My review doesn't mean as much as others that frequent this shop, but I've watched enough episodes of CL Hunter that I refuse to believe this isn't a 4+ star institution. Even if the man was running a little shop of horrors, the cat and bird alone easily elevate the business to 4 stars. Peter and his staff come across as extremely knowledgeable, fair, and transparent.

Absolutely love watching you on YouTube. Seem like a stand up guy and watching ur channel helps me when I'm having an off day.

A great place to do business if you are looking for unique gift items, sound systems and vinyl records. Very eclectic trader and fair dealer with good stuff!

I made an appointment to buy a Milwaukee radio and after entering the store they told me that they had increased the price and I came 40 miles away, I do not recommend it!!!!

After an unexpected stop to Trading post, im glad to say i had a positive experience! Pete, Vicki and the rest of the staff were very friendly and courteous! Not to mention, Pete gave me a great deal on an item, which i'm also happy with. Hope to be able to stop by again sometime soon! Totally recommend stopping by!

Great place to trade. Owner is very fair, nice and very knowledgeable and takes time to research items you bring in to trade. Manager Ryan always helpful. I've been buying and selling items here for many years and encourage others to stop by and support this great local business.
