Good facility BAD childcare. This is a clean and great facility for working out. The court has a new floor too! Nay, at the front desk, needs a raise! Shes amazing and kind and even remembers my kids names. Unfortunately, I joined PURELY because im a stay-at-home mom who wants to be healthy and they had childcare available. BUT, the main childcare worker, Renee, always seems to be irritated by my children's presence: is short with us, rolls her eyes, etc. I started driving out of my way to go to the Berkley YMCA because their childcare workers are so kind. I just don't feel great about leaving my kids here to work out. But if I ever got to workout without the kids, or want to take the kids swimming, I'd definitely go here!! Until Renee no longer works here, I'll gladly take my kids elsewhere.

My child is in the day camp program, and I have never been more disappointed with a program for children. There is a counselor named Victoria who shouldn’t be around children. She said and did some truly disappointing things that has made my child not want to return to camp. I will be filing a formal complaint. Please find a better program for your kids. While affordable, they clearly hire people who don’t like children.

The camp counselors are active with the children, caring and great swimmers! Their training is 2nd to none and the activities the children are exposed to are great. The library, Metro Parks, the science museum in Ann Arbor and an on site carnival are some of the summer activities campers enjoy! Highly recommend this camp to the community!

❌Don’t take your kids to this place.Worst daycare management this year 2022. My Son fell on his face with a big wound and they didn’t even contact us as his parents or even take him to urgent care to clean his wound 😡😡😡

We go to the Royal Oak YMCA for swim classes. The main instructor Katrina is amazing. We use the family changing room which allows all genders and it's extremely helpful since my husband sometimes takes my daughter. The women's and men's locker rooms you have to walk down the stairs to get to in the basement. The women's locker room has a sauna. In the family locker room, there are no showers. The showers are on the way to the pool with no privacy. For a community center, I find the Royal Oak YMCA to be clean. Parking is sometimes an issue depending on when you go, but there is an overflow lot as long as you don't mind walking.

Great experience. My activity is really walking. I was so impressed with walking track which allowed me to walk for forty five minutes.

Always a Joy at the Royal Oak YMCA. The staff is personable like family ...professional...knowledgeable. Their genuine concern for all the members is especially touching to me. The guess are friendly. I look forward to attending and working out 3 to 5 days a week. Not only does the staff motivate you also the members motivate each other. One if my best decisions I made when I joined over five years ago. My family away from family.

I’ve been a member for about 8 months. I’m sad to report that this location seems to be very poorly managed. When you leave a message for the person who runs the athletic programs you NEVER receive a return phone call. When you leave messages for the trainers you never get a return call. I have a niece in the summer camps and that has sadly been a bad experience. She is 5 yo and every day she’s come home and her water bottle and lunchbox are never touched. The counselors never tell the kids to drink or eat. She’s only 5! We are going to try a different location.

I love Jessica's Zumba class - her personality, choice of music, and routines are all great. She makes working out a lot of fun.

This is fantastic! They're always clean and repaired. They have a pool, classes, plenty of equipment, track, basketball, saunas, and wonderful staff. They really make you feel welcome. Parking is simple - the lot is huge. Their app keeps you up to date on any hour changes like pool closures. I only wish they had a bigger sauna for the women and a lounge for resting.

Do not go here from summer camp!!! The counselors are on their phones at drop off. No one was watching the children. My daughter was taken off campus to the McDonald’s so that the counselors could get food. One counselor was like a drill sergeant screaming at children to line up when it was time to take attendance. Horrible camp! Go to Salvation Army camp instead; similar pricing and exceptional counselors who really care.

The instructors for every class are the best around. They always create a welcoming environment for those with and without experience. Will continue telling everyone about my experience, especially now that the major renovations have been completed.

I've been a member of the Y since January, 2015. Since that time I've been impressed with the expertise of instructors, the friendliness of staff and the wonderful connections that the Y has with our community. It's always an enjoyable to be at the Y where staff knows my name and there's friendly people with whom I can have good conversations. In particular, I appreciate the classes that are available for seniors. Thank you, YMCA, for everything.

This is a friendly gym with nice staff and plenty of available classes and fitness equipment. The building needs a little love and updating, but that doesn't keep it from being an excellent way to workout and meet some folks around the community.

I've been going here with my Family all my life! Friendly people who care about our health, everyone's kind patient all ages Welcome! A very real and tangible sense of Community has lived here since well, the late 60s or 70s? WhenvI was a new Grieving Widows 12 yrs ago..they gave me a free membership, new mittens hugs . they brought me tissues to dry my tears..these are people who will save u with CPR all of them always watching out for you! It's just so uncommon but God Bless this team here!

If you're thinking of signing your child up for the basketball program, do it! The people running the program really made every child feel special. The volunteers were incredible too! My little guy loved it.

If you're like me and kinda care about personal health but still smack down beers and eat pirogies basically everyday. You're going to want to visit the ROYMCA like, at least, twice a week to keep up that Midwest silhouette. Like they say, an apple a day keeps the doctor away but we all know that’s completely wrong. Visiting this gem of a gym regularly will def keep dat doc away.
