Caffè Pedrocchi is worth visiting for its historical significance and unique atmosphere. Be prepared for potentially higher prices and variable service. Consider ordering coffee at the bar to save money. It's a good place to experience a classic Italian cafe, despite some mixed reviews.
Order coffee at the bar inside to avoid higher terrace prices. The 'green room' offers a classic ambiance. Be aware that the Pedrocchi coffee is quite sweet. It can get crowded, especially during peak tourist season. Weekday mornings are less crowded.
The business is basically capitalizing on its history to trap stupid tourist like me!
Wonderful place with history...atmosphere and service really amazing
If you are in Padova, you have to visit this beautiful place and try the most famous mint coffee in the world.
Do not eat there if you want real italian food. It’s a fancy place, beautiful to see, but it is more a museum than a good restaurant.
Try the famous coffee with mint. Delicious.

A coffee symbol of Padua. Maybe one of the best all over the world. Service, quality, prices and the whole place it's great. Taste the coffee flavoured with cold mint cream. It's a masterpiece!. The service is at the counter, but the room has several tables and stands where it is possible to sit freely.
Favoloso il caffè pedrocchi è una vera leccornia

You can get takeaway coffee and snacks at the front counter but the Cafe Pedrocchi is all about the grand salon experience so opt for the table service and be transported to the fin de siecle. Breakfast can be pretty ordinary. I had the Grand Toast, which is 4 slices of white bread toasted with ham and cheese served with a few crisps/chips, and my partner had Gourmet Pizza, which was 4 pieces of pizza with ham. Nothing fancy but good-sized portions. I had Viennese coffee but the whipped cream was so cold it cooled the espresso instantly. You pay €6 for this incidentally but only €2 at the to go counter. But if you want the service and atmosphere it's worth it. PS. There is a piano but no piano player during our visit. PPS. Ladies be prepared to wait in line for the limited toilet facilities.
Uno dei "senza" a Padova...ma con un cuore grande così Spettacolo
The place is beautiful. The most typical coffee is the Pedrocchi Coffee, which has cool milk foam with a tasty mint flavor, it is actually green. It blends with the coffee resulting in an interesting experience. If you access the red room, which is worth, prices double. If you travel on a budget, you can just order at the corner and serve yourself for a cheap prize.
Kafa sa mentom...interesantno...fantasticns
We went to this cafe because we like good espresso and they had some specialty coffee drinks. I ordered the self titled espresso drink with a mint cream topping. I'm a bit of a coffee nerd, so I enjoy taking pictures of coffee at the interesting I visit. There was a nice espresso machine there, so while the barista was making the drink I pointed my phone to take a shot. The guy turns around and gives me waves at me to stop. So I put the phone away. After the coffee was done he brought it to us and banged it on the table in a huff. This is unacceptable behavior to a customer. You are making coffee, not building a nuclear reactor lol. The sad part is the coffee was nice. Be happy that a customer is showing interest in what you do and don't be rude. caffe_pedrocci please have a bit more respect for your customers and teach your employees better customer skills.
We went here for dinner our first night in Padova. Service was friendly. Good selection on the wine list with reasonable bottle prices. I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and hubby had the lasagne bolognese. We also had the meatballs with red sauce appetizer and the cheesecake with berries. Everything was fantastic!
One of the best tiramisu I had in Italy. Place is very fancy, but the girl from Legami store recommended us to have coffee at the bar instead of sitting - it reduces the price from 6 to 1.5€.
A place to visit in Padua! It's a traditional and famous cafeteria that serves the original "Pedrocchi Café" made of espresso, ment cream and cocho powder on top (3€ , perfect as an energetic break) . The cafe also offers various cakes, pasties and chocolate. Try it!
It is amazing that we got to this place randomly, and then we discovered what an important place for Italy this was and remains. Caffè Pedrocchi is one of the most famous historical cafés in Italy, opening in 1831 and one of the few surviving among the classic Italian cafes. The Caffè was part of the student uprising against the dominant Austria, in 1848, and in one room, you can find a bullet in the wall from these days. This was favourite place for artists, from the French novelist Stendhal to Lord Byron. The signature coffee, Pedrocchi and cake has mint cream and is delicious, albeit sweet. I tried the cold version. Important tip: get inside and order from the counter, and not on the terrace where the prices are double. At the counter you can get your coffee and enjoy it in the green room, which gives you the classic vibes.
I visited during a walk into the city centre and stopped at this place on a friend's recommendation for the famous Pedrocchi coffee, a mint coffee with whipped cream and cocoa powder. It was definitely worth the long queue; the atmosphere was wonderful, the historic building added charm, and the cakes and coffees were excellent. My only disappointment was the cashier, who was somewhat rude.
Try the famous coffee with mint. Delicious. The mint is really subtle and just leaves this delicious fresh taste and feeling at the back of the throat. I could have drunk a bucket of it. I had a little sandwich with it too as a snack which was also delicious with the softest bread I’ve ever come across in Italy. Building is beautiful too and sitting outside in the shade was just a lovely relaxing moment. Well worth the visit.
The atmosphere is really nice. We had the typical mint coffee. The top of the coffee was cold and the bottom was a little warm. So I expected it to be a little warmer. I didn't like mint in coffee.
I'm treated like a princess here, so the service is fantastic. Not to mention how delicious the food and drinks are. When you're served by Alessandro, you're in the best hands! Highly recommended!
Must try is cafe Pedrocchi with mint!
Looks fancy. HOWEVER, food and service is far below average in Italy, with double price. The staffs kept talking to other people and forgot what they should do. The espresso was very bitter, not tasting like a coffee. We were excited before coming, but what a disappointing experience.
We ordered its signature mint coffee (like its name suggests) and it was a pleasant surprise! I first ordered a hot mint espresso, which was good; then I saw the table next to us had the iced version, and I couldn’t resist trying it too. I ended up liking the iced one even more
Very old place, in the center of the town, I recommend to go there for a coffee pistachio, it’s something that only they do , and it’s really nice , cold outside and hot inside . Dessert are also small and delicious 👌 and also good Aperol 😅
The cafe‘s architecture is absolutely captivating. Speak of a time when architecture was equal parts engineering and art. It’s both imposing and beautiful. Tried the mint cream coffee today, and honestly, it was neither amazing nor terrible—just somewhere in the middle. The mint flavour was noticeable but felt a bit artificial. The creaminess was nice, though; it gave the drink a smooth texture that helped mellow things out. That said, the balance wasn't quite there. The coffee itself got a little lost behind the mint and cream, which might be a plus for someone who doesn't love strong coffee—but as a coffee fan, I missed the boldness. Overall, it's drinkable and kind of refreshing, but probably not something I'd go out of my way to get again. Worth a try if you're curious, but don’t expect it to blow your mind.
This place is the oldest Caffè in Padova and clearly has history. We went there twice during our stay, first time for a tiramisu, and we were very confused with the concept of the different "rooms" (referring to choosing which room to sit in). At first we opted for bar service, but then wanted to change it and sit in a "red room" (we tried to change before we were served, but we couldn't). They gave us a metal plate with our tiramisu orders and pointed us to a "Green room" (which is fine, but we were still confused with the concept of which room is for which type of service). Nevertheless, the tiramisu was great, and we spent our time trying to learn more about the place. On the second visit, we tried chocolate mint cake and the signature mint espresso and loved it too! Since it's a local beverage, I recommend trying it, especially if you are a coffee lover. Then we were around the bar table in an experience room/front room with cakes displayed. In conclusion, this place is a must-visit for experiencing a piece of history.
If you are in Padova, you have to visit this beautiful place and try the most famous mint coffee in the world, the perfect combination of 100% Arabica espresso, fresh cream and mint syrup topped with a dusting of a bitter cocoa. Delicious! Do not stir.
The place looks fancy but it's actually very dirty. Waiters don't even bother to clean the tables and this causes pigeons to come and eat leftover food and break anything left on the table. The staff reaction to that is following pigeons with WATER GUNS and cleaning spray while customers are having their coffee or aperitivo. Ridiculous. The glass shards have been left on the floor for at least 10 minutes. We ordered two signature coffee and apart from having waited at least 15 minutes for them to arrive (the place was basically empty), the mug was also chipped. The old manager (he refused to tell me his name) is very arrogant and unprofessional: he also made a very bad misogynist joke while I was explaining to him the problems we were experiencing. Average quality, they exploit their history to make you pay 5 times more than any other place in the city (literally a signature coffee "caffè Pedrocchi" is 6€ and an espresso 3,50€), but the worst part is definitely the management. This historical place deserves to be managed differently. It's not my first time here, and everytime is a disappointment. Not recommended.
A cafe with significant history, inside and outside architecture and a unique character; and very friendly staff. The mint coffee was super delicious, as well as the P31 drink! 😊
This cafe is crazy fantastic!! We booked two seats in advance for the coffee but ended having lunch here (no regrets). We love everything we had on our table(see photos). You can’t leave this place without trying the mint coffee (THE BEST! 🏆). I got back home still dreaming about it 🤤🤤🤤). Lastly, thank you to the lady who takes care of the restroom (I’m the lady with braces 😬).
Love love love this cafe! From the history and the ambiance to the mint coffee - a cold version is available in warmer months and is also absolutely phenomenal! I haven’t ordered actual meals here yet, but always enjoy the coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and snacks. It’s a go-to every time I’m in Padova!
Wonderful place with history. Of course drinks and desserts were great but the atmosphere and service really amazing and made whole experience unique. Interior is just beautiful, music, polite Staff. Yes, true prices are high, but if you want to save a bit you can order at the bar and enjoy it in self service room.
Coffee isn’t great. Service is even poorer. Waiters don’t even bother to smile, especially the older ones. Cashier looks like she wants to eat you. Toilet is not cleaned and smelly. There’s nothing that I enjoyed about this cafe. There’s not even any effort to use a better looking coffee cups? The business is basically capitalizing on its history to trap stupid tourist like me!
Had early lunch and felt good was ordinary. Wanted to give it and try because of impression. Went back to try the restaurant and had a seating but when I tried to order food the waiter brought me to the other side. Then the waitress stopped him. Didn’t know what was going on? She then told me the restaurant was closed and only small snacks were available. The restaurant closed early because it was only 8.00 pm. Take note that I was dressed properly not in shorts or T shirt. Retired financial advisor of Portuguese nationality! I may then come to my conclusion that the food was ordinary based on my lunch there.
