I call this my home away from home because ive visited it so much. They have cabins and chalets for families and cozy huts for smaller families or just two people. I would go alot more if i did not have to pay for two people /night but i respect that they need to make money. The pool is a great place to go to after a days hike at the magnificent rock pools. I found the map of no use so i use the dam shaped in a heart and the sun as my compass throughout the day. One can only go on day hikes if you are part of the mountain club. One can then do Tonquani, a very beautiful hike in the gorge. Please dont litter, this place is so beautiful, keep it that way. There are a wide range of wildlife roaming around. Ive even come across a puff adder so do be vigilant but enjoy every step.

Accommodation - the log cabins were a treat to start in. The lack of TV and no music, noise meant that we had some quality times around the braai catching up. Mountain Sanctuary Park Hike - the first potion of the trail is easily marked when heading towards the sliding pools. From the sliding pools to the Grotto, one follows the river and this is where it gets tricky. After some bundy bashing, one sees the twin rock formation and veers right towards the pipeline and grotto. This section from the sliding pools is a bit tough and challenging at some b sections as there is not always a clear path. We encountered some baboon having a fight and so initially detoured earlier in the day. A short but intense hike with some good views especially along the river. A recommended experience even if it's just to get away for the weekend. We git to see monkeys, tortoise, giraffes and obviously baboons.

Absolutely stunning. By far one of my absolute favorite places to experience nature in. The hiking around the reserve is spectacular with incredible scenery and amazing rockpools. The accommodation is decent and they have great campsites as well. Another plus is that they have a strict no-noise policy, so one can really relax without being disturbed by others. 10/10 would recommend, but be sure to book in advance.

Magical. Serene. Breathtakingly beautiful. All of those things! We were a group and stayed in the cabin - we had a bit more meat than the fridge could handle so having extra cooler boxes definitely helped. Lock your windows and doors (as per reception instruction), we had a few baboons peep through windows but they marched off when spotted. The hike towards the Grotto via sliding pools wasn't as clearly marked. We walked along the river, spotted the twin rocks and then managed to figure things out. There's a shop at reception that sells basics. While you can swipe at that store, you should take cash along to the pool if you'd like to purchase anything from the kiosk / bar as they didn't have a card machine operating there. Overall, great place to escape the noise. Literally. There's no TVs or music allowed and there's a noise curfew (yup).

Unbelievably amazing, very peaceful, very quiet except for the beautiful sounds of nature and an amazing hike, pools and fun.

Great place for a weekend getaway. Clean facilities and great ablutions. Very friendly staff and well stocked shop on premises. However, the monkeys can be a menace. Do not leave any food unattended and keep food stored securely in your car. They will break into your tent and make their way into your car for food

Really a lovely getaway where you switch your phone off and focus on being quiet. Water can be cold to shower in, but it is definitely worth it. Lovely hiking trails and such beautiful rock formations to look at

Fantastic hiking trails and scenery, small cars suffer on the dust road leading to the entrance..but it's worth denting your bumper..

We enjoyed it at MSP, the camping stands are huge! Toilets average but the views are incredible. Just pack your food away, the monkeys are brazen, but we are in a reserve so it happens. The hiking was also very worth it and the pools Lot of fun. Kindly support these guys.

Great campsite and pool. The 'cosy hut' we stayed in was ideal for those without camping equipment. The hikes were really lovely but not very well marked. Rock pools were amazing and we even saw some giraffe on the way in. Monkeys were a little bit of a nuisance but were easily scared off

A short hike about 2km (or 30 mins) walk to the pool. Make sure you confirm directions before you take off, and then you should be fine (its easy to get lost if you're not sure). When you get to the actual pool, there's a bit of a rock climbing involved, but completely worth it!

Great camping grounds with private ablution facilities. The hiking trails are easy enough for anyone to try with beautiful scenery and refreshing mountain pools as a reward.

A pair of comfortable boot is very important, recommend to go in summertime as u can see few river streams, it is different from other hiking trail with lots of rocky surfaces and very beautiful view on the top of the mountain.

Had a wonderful weekend. Camp sites are well kept. Staff is friendly. Ablution facilities are super clean and tidy. Swimming pool is clean and great. My family especially enjoyed the hike trails. So much of nature's beauty to see.

Beautiful spot for a few nights camping and hiking, delicious food, good size flat camp sights and clean facilities.

It was average at this visit. We had a full day of rain and were bugged by the monkeys the whole day. Suggestion is to lock your food away ALL the time, not just when you leave camp and don't leave anything out. They come in while you are there. I will go back to have a full experience without a day of rain. But the hike to the river pools was beautiful. We did not have enough time to do the longer hike though.

Beautiful quiet nature at its best! Lovely streams and mountain pools for the whole family to explore. The rock formations are out of this world, just use your wildest imagination! Accomodation very good, from Cosy Huts to bigger Chalets with nice clean ablutions. We recommend all nature lovers and hikers to break away to Mountain Sanctuary Park!

Beautiful scenic environment, but unfortunately no marked trails and ended up getting horribly lost, a 3 hour hike turned into a 6 hour nightmare! For the amount of money and travelling spent I would not recommend this at all if you have '" no sense of direction"

Awesome scenery, wonderful hiking trials with something different to offer than most nature reserves. Accommodation is clean and the park is well kept and clean. The staff is friendly and competent. The restaurant is pricey but it is convenient. I would recommend this for hikers, families and campers alike.

Gorgeous place. Clean ablutions with loads of hot water and amazing water pressure. Cosy hut was clean and well equipt. Staff friendly and helpful. Loads of rain when we were there so I did wish for a communal under roof braai area with lighting. Other than that it is a perfect place.

If you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, This is the place to be!! We enjoy every moment of it. Staff are friendly, The restaurant makes the most epic burgers ever. You are surrounded by animals 24/7, if not squirrels, gecoks or monkeys.

Excellent nature getaway! There are several housing options (we opted for a log cabin which included bedding and a full kitchen) that are central to trails. There are beautiful and secluded natural pools (which are easy to find, 20-30 min walk away from campsite) to take a dip in while hiking around the grounds. It is easy to craft your own hike and make a longer hike enjoy the scenery. There were very few people on the trails and people wore masks in common spaces. MSP staff are so helpful in providing you advice on what type of hike you'd enjoy. Definitely recommend for a weekend trip!
