Exceptional experience and food. From the second we walked in all staff were super friendly and accommodating. The chefs special sashimi was delectable and smoothie was very refreshing. Good portion sizes too. We will be back for more!!

Also rocking a shipping container vibe, Flying Turtle Cafe is a cafe-come-tour operator with undercover seating and sunny, welcoming staff. From a short lunch menu, the Flying Turtle Turkish sammie (NZ$18), jumps out. Here it’s a little less overwhelming in size, but with more delicate pan-fried parrot fish inside and no caddy of hot sauces, doesn’t quite live up to the heights of the one we shared at Charlie’s. Three fillets of the same fish is beautifully battered and piled onto a wooden board for their fish and chips (NZ$24.50). It’s accompanied by average chips and a very lightly dressed coleslaw that showed off the natural sweetness of the cabbage. The counter holds some good-looking baking from banana muffins (NZ$4/each) to cheese scones (NZ$5/each). A well-balanced and vegan-friendly tropical smoothie (NZ$13) uses coconut milk to good effect in a large glass jar. Well placed for lunch after a snorkel around Black Rock.

Loved coming here in the mornings. Close walking distance to the Edgewater hotel if you want a batista coffee. Awesome range of coffees and free wifi. Not many places have access to free wifi. Very relaxed atmosphere with chill music. Super friendly staff too.

First time visiting Flying Turtle Cafe. Was a public holiday in Rarotonga A steady stream of people. Service was great, friendly and always available. Food was good as well BbQ chicken focaccia, bread was light and fluffy. Green papaya salad was crispy and fresh with coriander and mint. Good dressing. Was not over chilled. Definitely recommend this place

Visiting from New Zealand. Fantastic staff and excellent food/ drink. Very knowledgeable. Choose the raw Tuna (Ika Mata) for breakfast; very fresh and clean - strongly recommend. Everyone at the table went away happy too.

Loved our meal here - and great coffee too! Favourite place to come for brunch on the island. Friendly and they also give you a 10% discount on your meal if you’ve just done their Ariki turtle tour (which is also awesome)!

One of the best cafes we found on our travels in Rarotonga. As someone who is gluten and dairy free I found lots of options here including the club sandwhich. My friend said the coffee was some of the best she’s had!
