We came early before the store is opened and the queue is already more than 15. We have to wait for more than an hour but it's all worth the effort. Fresh sushi, reasonable price and the chef is so friendly. We love all the variants. Just ask for lunch set so you can try a bit of everything and you don't need to explain, especially if you're foreigner. And dont forget to put your name on the waiting list in front of the store otherwise all your waiting will be a waste

I’ve eaten sushi the majority of my life in many great cities of the world. This place has truly won me over. With its shear unpretentiousness, simplicity, humbleness , freshness and warmth. It feels like the roots of sushi culture are directly represented in this little standing bar. No frills. And truly satisfying! Any true sushi lover should be drawn to this place without question.

One of the best restaurants I visited in Tokyo. Super authentic. You need to write your name on a sheet a queue outside. When you reach the inside you stand (there are no seats) in front of the chef and chose from the menu the sushi you want. It’s super fresh and taste extraordinarily good. It’s relatively cheap. I wish you could go back there soon. Update : I returned there, and it’s definitely the best nigiri I have tried in my 3 weeks in Japan. I love this place. I paid approximately 20$ for 9 nigiri, a miso soup and beer

I was in Tokyo for one week late October 2023, and this was the best dining experience I had during my visit. While on the hunt for some nigiri around the Tsukiji markets, I happened to walk past this place around 9am. I checked the google scores and saw the high ratings and that they open at 11:15am, so I decided to come back around opening time. After some nigiri elsewhere and coffee at the wonderful Turret Coffee nearby, I came back around 11:20am to see a lot of people sitting outside already and realised you had to write your name down. There was already one and a half rows of names (all in Japanese), so I was even more compelled to dine in, so wrote my name down. As I was by myself, I was hoping that I may get a spot quicker than groups of 2+ but this wasn't the case, which is fair and fine. As I wasn't sure how long it would be, I ended up waiting...and waiting. I finally got in around 12:30pm. Time slows down when waiting! But it was worth it! Service was so friendly and fun. Each nigiri was beautiful. I enjoyed with some sake, and the handroll had beautifully crunchy nori and the fatty tuna was I think the best I've ever had (so got one more!). I tried a lot of varieties of nigiri I've never had, and truly everything was fresh and delicious. Some nigiri has yuzu rind, which provided subtle sweet and sourness to some of the richer fish, some nigiri was raw, some lightly grilled by being torched. Just stunning. Definitely worth it, not just for the perfect food, but the unique experience of standing in a tiny sushi bar, eating beautiful food with friendly sushi chefs, and happy people surrounding you.

I was third in the line when I arrived at the entrance, It was around 8pm. Took about 5 mins to get a seat, and everything else was just FANTASTIC! I highly recommend this place for sushi lovers, the sushi is of the proper size, just to fill the mouth and not to struggle to chew it, like in most US places. Really fresh and well done.

Delicious little standing sushi joint. Beautiful fresh fish. If I had to choose favorites it would be flounder edge seared, pressed mackerel and botan shrimp. The queue moves surprisingly quickly.

The sushi is good but very small portions. It is pricey. The sushi are categorized into different tiers of pricing. Sushi chefs use Chinese checker style board to keep track of your tab. No way to really tell how accurate the total tab is. However the service is very fast and good atmosphere of standing sushi bar.

came here twice in four days because it was so good & so cheap!! the queue system also lets you put down your name and come back later so the first time we got coffee while waiting and the second we put our names down before the place opened and were basically seated once it opened. the sets are super value for money - really recommend the various tunas (kamatoro and otoro); the sea bream (tai); sea urchin (uni) and also liked the engawa

Came in the afternoon somewhere between lunch and dinner. There is a waiting list out the front where you write your name - we waited maybe 20 minutes to get inside with 3 of us. Once inside, you take your place standing at the bar and one of the chefs personally attends to your needs with some tea and sushi recommendations. Needing to stand at the bar rather than being able to sit down wasn't any trouble, if anything it made the experience more fun. We tended to take turns choosing something off the board and then having the chef recommend something for us. We ended up having 9 pieces of sushi each, everything was fresh and delicious so you can't really go wrong here. Just choose your favourites and let the chefs recommend some seasonal choices if you want to get a little adventurous. Each piece of sushi ranges between 100-500 yen. You probably want to allocate around 2000-4000 yen for the experience depending on how much you want to eat and which pieces you want. The chef spoke enough English to make good recommendations and take our orders with no troubles, along with being able to hold a few simple conversations. The service in particular was a highlight, and watching them work their craft behind the counter was also great. The only thing to watch out for is that you can find yourself quickly ordering more and more pieces which can quickly result in paying a tidy sum of yen if you're not careful. Just go in with a budget in mind and make sure you keep track of things.

I would have regretted not coming here. This was the BEST sushi we had during our stay in Tokyo. We arrived around 7:15pm and waited about 10 minutes for a spot. The sushi chef was so great and asked us to keep the orders coming! There were set meals to choose from, or individual pieces. We ordered salmon, yellowtail, toro, uni, sweet shrimp and a toro hand roll. Altogether 30 pieces and the total was under $60 USD! Although our feet were tired from walking 20,000 steps that day, it was worth standing for this meal!

As expected the sushi and sashimi here are pretty good, I can't compare this one to the ones I have tasted in Toronto (in highly rated Japanese restaurants in Toronto) since obviously they have very fresh fish and ingredients here! The fatty tuna and meguro was crazy good, I have not tasted anything in my life! I paid almost 40 bucks because aside from the 10-12 set I ordered initially, I ordered more!

Food was delicious! Really high quality sushi. There is a lunch rush so either go early or later in the afternoon.

The best sushi meal I’ve ever had so far, hands down. The seafoods are incredibly fresh, the chef is highly skilled and now the best part: the taste and value for money. Everything was perfect, I was finally able to enjoy « fatty tuna » (o-toro, aka the best piece you can find on a tuna) at a reasonable price, and omg the taste was just incredible. Melting and extremely flavorful… Honestly, if you have to pick one sushi restaurant in Tokyo go to this one. You will be amazed for sure.

This place is just absolutely insane value and incredible taste to go with it! Just a quick walk from the famously overcrowded Tsukiji market, you can get a full lunch set for only 759 Yen that is prepared freshly by highly-skilled and friendly chefs right in front of you. Feel free to add any more items a la carte and the price will still be so low that you won't believe your eyes. This has to be one of the best value sushi restaurants in Tokyo and you cannot miss it if in the area.

Recommended by a local friend. Great value hand made sushi. Definitely try their specialty sushi’s with their own house-sauce. Open for lunch, remember to write your name at the door (or you just waste your time).

Relatively good value sushi restaurant near the Tsukiji station. It's a standing bar so you are expected to stand when eating. If you have a lot of bags with you this place is not ideal to go to. Expect to wait a bit because usually the restaurant is full. The turnover is quite fast so you don't have to wait for too long. Sushi is average. I'd say it tastes like what they sell for. Some of them are disappointing like the uni. I highly suggest looking at the recommended menu because those ones are usually good. When I went, some of those are kinmedai, katsuo, gizzard, anago. Don't expect the best quality of sushi but for the price (~3000 yen), I think this place offers good value.

I loved this standing sushi bar!! We came for dinner at around 6:30pm on a weekday, the wait was only ~10 minutes. Every piece was so fresh, prices are very reasonable and the staff were super friendly. Would definitely recommend and I’ll definitely be back!
