ちなみにここの前身は航空機の安全を祈願する「航空神社」でしたが、成田空港建設以前にこちらに勧請されてますので、たまたまです。
本当はNAAはここの用地も取得したかったのでしょうが、神社の土地は地元民の共有地ということで、住民一人でも反対がいると売却ができないそうです。
よってここは成田空港の建設に反対した三里塚闘争のシンボルとなり、このまま滑走路敷地の真ん中に残されてしまいました。
尚、ここから東に数百メートル東に進むと、道路脇に3名の殉職警官の慰霊碑があります。
