I
was
"EXTORTED"
in
a
service
carried
out
on
11/01/2023.
Details:
I
have
a
fixed
prosthesis
on
my
first
molar
(the
result
of
a
cavity
extraction).
This
prosthesis
detached
from
the
tooth
and
I
went
to
Instituto
Integrale
to
reattach
it.
Arriving
at
the
institute
at
2:00
pm,
at
reception,
I
informed
what
had
happened,
and
was
informed
about
the
cost
of
the
"consultation"
in
the
figure
of
R$
220.00...
and
nothing
more.
I
was
taken
to
the
dentist's
room,
sat
in
the
procedure
chair,
the
case
was
analyzed
by
the
dentist
and
then
asked
to
get
up
and
sit
in
another
(consultation)
chair
to
tell
me
the
cost
of
the
procedure.
In
the
chair,
the
dentist
consulted
a
computer
system
and
informed
me
that
the
procedure
would
cost
R$280.00
(with
a
7%
discount
for
paying
in
cash).
In
other
words,
the
entire
service
would
cost
a
total
of
R$500.00.
The
dentist
even
offered
me
another,
even
more
expensive
service,
which
could
cost
approximately
R$1,800.00.
I
questioned
the
value
of
280,
since
I
had
already
paid
the
amount
of
R$220.
The
dentist
informed
me
that
this
value
(220)
corresponds
only
to
the
consultation,
like
the
one
made
with
doctors.
I
questioned
the
conduct,
since
dentists
do
not
consult,
but
evaluate
to
offer
procedures.
Furthermore,
I
already
knew
what
was
happening,
and
requested
procedural
assistance.
The
dentist
maintained
his
position.
I
refused
and
said
I
would
do
it
at
another
clinic.
I
requested
the
prosthesis
to
be
refitted
until
I
moved
to
another
clinic.
The
dentist
asked
me
to
put
myself
back
in
the
procedure
chair
and
started
some
actions
to
replace
the
prosthesis,
without
informing
me
what
it
was.
In
the
end,
he
released
me
and
I
left
the
room
and
went
to
reception
to
request
a
receipt
for
the
“appointment”.
While
the
receptionist
was
preparing
the
receipt,
the
dentist's
assistant
went
to
reception
to
inform
that
the
procedure
carried
out
in
the
office
would
cost
R$110.00.
I
questioned
the
value
and
what
procedure
was
performed.
The
receptionist
replied
that
the
prosthesis
was
refixed
with
cementation.
Conclusion,
I
paid
R$330.00
to
refix
a
dental
prosthesis.
Throughout
the
service,
I
identified
some
errors
that
could
lead
to
civil
lawsuits:
1.
At
no
time
was
it
made
clear
to
me
the
meaning
and
what
the
“consultation”
procedure
consisted
of,
which
cost
R$220.00.
The
most
common
assumption
is
that
it
was
about
analysis
and
procedure,
since
the
problem
had
already
been
identified.
2.
The
dentist
tried
to
offer,
in
a
bundled
sale,
two
procedures
that
did
not
even
correspond
to
the
procedure
indicated
and
requested.
3.
The
dentist
performed
the
requested
procedure,
without
informing
me
that
he
was
doing
it,
even
with
my
advance
refusal,
where
I
indicated
that
I
would
carry
out
the
procedure
in
another
location.
4.
The
dentist
indicated
that
the
cost
of
the
consultation
was
based
on
exceptional
hours,
when
in
fact
we
were
during
business
hours.
Furthermore,
it
indicated
an
unsolicited
consultation
procedure,
and
without
clarification.
5.
I
was
charged
a
procedural
fee
without
any
prior
indication,
and
with
a
value
never
previously
informed.
In
these
terms,
I
felt
extorted,
in
a
clinic
that
appears
to
be
of
quality,
with
luxurious
reception
and
materials,
but
which,
in
my
opinion,
still
did
not
understand
the
full
extent
of
commercial
rules
and
laws.
