Nice place, huge potential ... but the city MUST invest to CLEAN UP & PROTECT their ICONIC Buildings, trash all over, broken windows and some idiot was spray painting graffiti at midday in front of all, as if it was "ok". Portugal is letting its gems be trampled by swine.

Breathtaking views, perfect tile paintings on the walls. It is a small and beautiful hidden treasure. We walked over from the rental... and had a great time learning about the history of Portugal.

Amazing place on the coast with historic relevance and an impressive site to relax. This Fort is one of many structures that were originally built to defend the newly created Portugal. Over centuries, this and other forts were adapted. This one served as a military school at some point in time and President Salazar spent a lot of time here - like each year a certain period. It was also here where he dropped of his chair and never recovered fully (i.e. the end of his reign and the end of Portugal's Fascist Dictatorship era started here).

Great place to visit on a sunny day. This fort initially built in 1580 was the residence of Antonio Salazar, the Prime Minister that ruled Portugal from 1932 to 1968. It was abandoned for years but has now been somewhat cleaned up and was opened to the public just last year, so it is still somewhat unknown and not flooded with local or foreign tourists. We really enjoyed our time there. note that only bathroom facilties are available - no coffee shop or other tourist facilities. There are some info brochures available. Beautiful tiles.

A very pleasant place to walk when you've had enough of the beach ;). Nice views and an interesting piece of history. A bit neglected, but you can see that the reconstruction is underway. The entrance does not cost anything, the only limitation is the entrance at certain hours. The toilet is missing - unless I could not find it.

Restored fort, open weekends. Was also summer residence of authoritarian prime minister Salazar. Well worth a quick visit. Great views of Cascais.

Very interesting visit, one can understand why it has been cherished by former head of the state Antonio Salazar who ruled an authentic empire till the early seventies
