We arrived when it was dark, so when we woke up in the morning, we were in Paradise. Massive room. Amazing views, but my moody staff, not what you expect from a 5 star hotel hence the 2 stars. We went to the south and came back after 2 nights, there was the staff who knew us from out first stay, there was no welcome back or anything, moody lady checked us in. When we made the reservation for an extra night, we were confirmed a slightly cheaper rate then the rate given to us at check in. When we mentioned this, moody lady just ignored it. We did not want to make an issue for a couple of Euros, but in a way that is not ok! The room was as well not up to 5 star standard, bathroom door is not closing and there were ants in the bathroom coming out of a crack under the bathtub. When we reported this we had to ask for a room change, this was not offered to us what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The cleaning ladies were nice though! All in all disappointing for a 5 star hotel for almost 200 Euros a night. Location is top though, close to city center and airport.

Definitely a good spot to base yourself in São Tomé, except when you need to visit the south of the island, in which case you should find accommodation there, for example to visit Isla de Rohlas. Rooms are somewhat basic and old, but very good in terms of other options that the island offers. Service was good and you can ask reception for many, many different things which they are happy to help with.

Best Hotel in Sao Tome, it was like being in paradise. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner buffets were top class! Sadly no decent beach nearby but the infinity pool is great!

You get a great view of sea and the sun rise and it's a nice hotel to lodge in

One of my worst experience in a Hotel. 3 hours to fix a problem and a very arrogant gentleman at the Reception. Please if you can book somewhere else, do so. You will thank me later.

This hotel is exceptional. We have just returned for 4- nights stay and we really enjoyed it. The views, the staff, the pool, the beach party, the manager, she is excellent. Thank you, Lucia, for helping us to have an amazing holiday. Best breakfast we have ever had in any hotel in the world.

Indeed my previous review read *Haven on earth* I visited Pestana Sao Tome on a honeymoon.Am still wondering why my booking agent did not book Accommodation in this facility but I had the privilege to have quality time at your restaurant and woow ....the long wooden walk way into the sea reminds me of the cool breeze and Portuguese melodies we had.Certainly,other hotels should emulate your superior service. I cant wait to visit once again but definitely lodge in your rooms.

Where should I start from ?! Missing T-shirts from the pool to not getting food I've ordered... If all employees would be a little bit focused and client orientated that would of made this rating a bit better tbph

Nice hotel, well situated (seafront et and 3mn drive from city center) Nevertheless the place is overated and overpriced. If you’re used to european standards, just expect a good 2-stars hotel. Edit : after 5 days travelling around the island, it appears Pestana is one rare accomodation in Sao Tomé with a working fan, no rats, no bugs, no spiders. Its worth !

Pestana is a great hotel, the pool is nice, and they put out a stellar amazing breakfast. I was surprised how much needed repair and received no attention.

Pestana is set on the seaside, 1km from the centre of Sao Tome….It offers private beach access, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a terrace with sun beds….

For a 4 star hotel, I felt like I was a nuisance at the hotel. The desk as well as the bar area certainly certainly lacked a level of level of commitment to the customers. The individual waiters and the house cleaning crew were very polite however. The actual facilities were very well kept.

The rooms are OK, location is fantastic and services are very ok considering its location and the standard of the inhabitants
