An oasis of calm in a chaotic São Tomé. Hotel room was nice and well furnished by the pool. Booked a suite as wasn't hugely more than a standard and was well worth it. Food in hotel restaurant by far the best we experienced in São Tomé. Manicured gardens and nice pool area. Service friendly throughout, staff seemed keen to please.

Arguable the best place to stay in São Tomé! Sustainability and responsible travel is at their core and doing all they can to uphold that. Great customer service, spacious rooms, great afrofusion food, great cocktails, hospitable staff. Please change local currency before coming.

We had a group dinner at the restaurant. Service was very slow. Took forever to bring one the last meals and it was a mission to get the wine, which ended up being overcharged way above the price in the wine list.

Very pleasant and relaxing. Great swimming pool. Great breakfast. Meals are great and good menu. Only one waiter in fining room. Clearly not enough at all. And patcience was endured by all. Some nights patcience was truly tested,of no fault to the waiterand playing barmen too. This issue must be checked out. Generally after 4 nights the stay was good, friendly and helpful staff. Recommend this hotel

Came to Omali for a nice meal. This is supposed to be the nicest hotel on the island, we have had the worst experience since arriving on Sao Tome - Antonio the manager has assured that we will never return to this hotel, possibly not even the island. We waited OVER AN HOUR after ordering for drinks and food, which were sub par at best and massively overpriced. To top it all off they overcharged us by €40 and when we went back to get the money back (after having to pay for a taxi there and back), Antonio the manager did not take us seriously or apologise once, he also shouted in my face. Once we raised it the waiter and manager were smirking, and treated us like we were in the wrong. It was absolutely shocking and disgusting. This is the worst service we have ever experienced and I don’t know how Antonio ever got the job as the manager. It is definitely not a reflection of the kindness and hospitality we have experienced from the lovely people of Sao Tome. Avoid Omali like the plague!!!!

Perhaps the wrong hotel for my standard and not good value for money at all. Liked · Nice room with plenty of space, could use less furniture in to be able to move around freely. Fully accessible, at the back of the property which allow us to sleep quietly. Disliked · No mosquito nets in the room. Dusty bedroom. No bottled water. Room service lacks improvement/training. Poor cleaning standards, missing towels, poor supervision? It feels that there are no audits to the room, ensuring a standard service is being provided. No tea selection whatsoever, same breakfast for 11 days :( Just bored. Receptionists extremely rude and lacking customer service. Every time I asked for a taxi, the same driver came and always overcharged by a lot. After a long chat with a few other customers we have understood Receptionists have a little of side business going on. Probably some drivers are paying off the receptionists. Omali is the most expensive hotel in Sao tome so anyone staying the are considered to be quite wealthy Anyway, it did take me nearly 5 days to understand what is going on. Having this said Domingos, Ines, Ricardo all great Staff, would love to see them again. In general all Staff are actually amazing and caring about guests. Silly thing as higher you go on the role, worst the service.

This is the best hotel you can stay at in São Tomé (we would know because we tried all the major ones). The staff are very polite and always able to help. We experienced several difficulties with the other agencies and we relied on Omali to help communicate and resolve all of these issues. The food is excellent and the bar is well stocked, the pool is clean and the rooms are comfortable. When we return to São Tomé there won’t be any hesitation deciding where to stay. We look forward to return soon.

I loved the stay there with my son. It is a nice hotel, has a great pool and the staff is friendly. But found the food just okay and the Portugese manager terrible. Marion Mayer-Hohdahl

What an experience, I don't know which was worse, the ants or the GM. Returning to my room following dinner, I noticed several huge ants, over the next hour, I killed many more. Several hours later, I was awoken with an ant crawling on my face-I did not sleep well that night getting up periodically to kill more- I must have killed 20+ in total. I approached the GM and he explained that this was a problem with Sao Tome- wrong response. He should have apologized and expressed serious concern, but his response was very casual. I told him that I did not want to return to the same building upon return. I reported the incident to my tour company and they stated that he apologized as his was response was not meant to be taken in that manner. I returned to the property 4 days later to find that I was placed in the same room type, no upgrade, no nothing. I saw him on the property-did not recognize me-and told him that I was disappointed that I had not been upgraded or been given something to make up for a miserable night. He said he would take care of it-I should not be schooling the GM on hospitality. He then went on to say that people who travel to Africa have a certain level expectation of how things will be-really, so an infestation of ants should be expected. The comment was incredible, I told him that I have traveled extensively through Asia and Africa and have never experienced anything of this nature, and it was unacceptable etc.... Upon return after a city tour, I found a bottle of sparkling wine and some chocolate-which I appreciated-but found more ants in the new room. They finally upgraded me to a new ant-free room. With the second room, I could clearly see the ants entering below the door- all they needed to do was put stripping on the bottom of the doors- I never found the access point for the first room, as I believe there were several.. Also, my final room had not been made up by 4 PM on the last day. Bad management!!!!!!

The hotel lost my reservation twice in a row. 1st time: online reservation and transfer. There was no one waiting for us at the airport and no room available. After a long wait they were able to fix the situation. 2nd time: in-person reservation (reception). After a few days went back to São Tomé at 11am. No one could find our reservation. We were told that there was no problem, to drop off the bags and go enjoy the city. We went back at 3pm, waited for a long time and at the end were told they didn’t have a room. Apparently they allowed the guests that were in our room to check out at 6pm and didn’t have a cleaning crew to prep the room for us. We spoke with the assistant manager that didn’t offer an alternative or transportation to another hotel. I have been to 81 countries, never experienced anything like this. Conclusion: we were kicked out of Omali at 5pm without a place to stay. Overall: Customer service is awful, especially at breakfast and pool bar. Staff lacks training.

Loved this hotel. Actually it was better than I thought it would be. The deluxe suites are very nice and large with a private veranda overlooking the pool. The pool is very nice. Staff are very helpful. Bruno and Antonio were both super helpful in me doing my Covid PCR test to fly. Would not be able to figure it out without them as STP Airways seem to have less knowledge on what to do than the hotel. Breakfast delivered to the room due to Covid restrictions. The restaurant very nice. I did half board which is economic as there are not many restaurants walking distance. Closer to airport than it is to downtown but still close enough via motor taxi. Will stay again for sure when back on the island.

Loved the place. Large family room that perfectly fit the family. Safe environment. Kids can ran around and swim. Beach right opposite it for more swimming. Good food. Working WiFi

Mixed feelings. We stayed twice in very different rooms, the second not quite up the the expected standards for the place and price. Beautiful pool area and very friendly staff. 2 minutes from the airport !

I drove past Omali’s several times on New Year’s Day looking for an authentic São Toméan restaurant to eat at, with no luck. On the third pass I threw in the towel and ventured in. Little did I know what gastronomic treat lay before me. This was undoubtedly one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in in all my travels. Everything was on point including the affable waiter Amondo. I seldom give five stars but on this occasion it is merited. I’m glad I didn’t read some of the reviews beforehand because I would have missed out on something really special.

The staff allowed guests from our prior night's stay to check in late, resulting in no available rooms upon our arrival. It took them an hour to resolve the issue without any apologies or help in finding an alternative. Consequently, we had to call a cab and search for other hotels. Fortunately, Pestana had a few available rooms. Regarding our previous stay at Omali: the service was poor, breakfast was unsatisfactory, and the location was inconvenient, being far from most attractions
