Heritage
place..
This
ruined
palace,
that
stands
at
Howrah
district,
is
at
times
neglected
as
a
mere
dilapidated
building
from
the
past.
Being
so
much
more
than
just
that,
the
Andul
Rajbari
is
one
of
the
those
final
reminiscent
of
our
Bengal
architecture,
a
falling
witness
of
those
times,
lost
as
the
glorious
presidency
of
Bengal.
Established
in
1834
by
Raja
Rajnarayan
Roybahadur,
this
gigantic,
ramshackle
mansion
still
caries
much
opulence
for
tourists
who
do
have
a
sight. You
can
imagine
its
period
by
the
fact
that
the
Andul
Rajbari
was
a
contemporary
of
Shovabazar
Rajbari
in
Kolkata.
Much
supported
by
Robert
Clive
and
the
British
East
India
Company,
this
place
was
once
a
fulcrum
supporting
the
traditional
Bengali
culture
and
the
rising
trend
for
the
West.
A
lot
of
stories
have
hidden
behind
the
crumbling
rooms
and
the
skinned
pillars
and
you
must
interact
with
the
locals
to
know
more
about
its
outstanding
past.
