I have been a diver for over 20 years and have dealt with many scuba shops around the country. Sac City is it best I have come across. Joe is a vault of knowledge and has helped my family get high quality gear at a fair price. I also trusted Joe to train my 12 year old daughter how to scuba dive. He took his time with her and made sure that she learned the material but also made it fun and exciting for her. Would absolutely recommend Sac City Scuba. My husband and I did our eLearning course and then followed up with our pool course with Joe. It was such a a great experience that we are likely changing our plans to also do our open water dives through him as well. Super patient, adapts to the varying levels of the class members, and makes the experience fun. Also is willing to give general advice for diving experiences beyond his shop. If I could add an extra star just for the fact that there is a dog named Scuba who works customer service in the shop, you would see 6 stars here!

I’ve been dreaming about scuba diving for over twenty years. Joe and the team at Sac City Scuba went far above and beyond in helping me achieve that dream. Their teaching method is superb. They convey the seriousness involved in scuba diving while allowing you to still enjoy the magic of it. Despite the hiccups I was having with they were extremely encouraging for me to push through even giving me extra time and attention. Every piece of equipment I bought was top notch. They also thoroughly explained the best ways to maintain and use everything. I highly encourage going here for anything Scuba related.

Becoming certified as a diver was never on my radar. A recent experience on another travel adventure established the desire to learn and to search out my options in the greater Sacramento area, and I landed in Joe’s very capable hands! He has a great sense of humor, but is a very serious teacher. He explains, he models, and he holds his students accountable to having eyes on him while he is modeling. What an awesome experience! There’s nothing like breathing and traversing underwater. Joe at Sac City Scuba has the knowledge, experience, and professionalism to get you there safely. Solid courses, great times, lots of learning, and most importantly, scuba! Would recommend and will return!

JOE IS THE BEST! I stopped by with a missing buckle for my fins and a new scuba setup I purchased from Amazon.... Joe took his time explaining the possible safety issues he noticed with my setup. He did a great job going over everything with me. I walked away with feeling informed, knowledgeable and I never felt like I was being upsold or talked out of the product. After further research upon getting home I was able to verify everything Joe told me. He even took the time to personally find a buckle for my fins!

Super glad we went with Sac City Scuba to get our Open Water certification! Joe & his team are great!! I super appreciated the flexible schedule & choice in class dates and open water dives. Plus location choices for open water dives! We chose to drive over two hours to use Sac City instead of a place closer & we have no regrets! And a mega bonus is getting to love on Joe's dog, Scuba!
