Just moved here from Kansas and I'm all about local places. I recommend stopping by for a drink and bite to eat. It's a bar but plenty of seating with better than bar type food. We took the kids for lunch and had a great time on the patio. The lobster roll was delicious! We will make this place a frequent stop. Stay True - Go Local

My boyfriend and I visited for the first time and we were huge fans! Such a cool little restaurant. The food was very good, the fish and chips (pictured across from me) were ridiculously huge and for a decent price. We weren’t super thrilled with our appetizer of garlic butter shrimp, it was small and just plain shrimp in a bowl of butter and garlic. However, we sat on the dock (their outdoor seating area) and it was a really cool area and ambiance. We will definitely be back to visit again! The only kicker was that our server was less than stellar, kind of standoffish, but I did see the other servers interacting really well with their guests, so I don’t think that this speaks to the quality of the restaurant. Give this place a shot if you’re looking for a unique dining experience!🐟🌊 I got the coconut shrimp 🍤

Fun place, great food, good service, outdoor deck at marina with just the right vibes... makes us feel like we're on vacation in Florida or South Carolina! Seafood excellent and bring your appitite or a doggy bag 😋... we had never been here before... stumbled across while on a drive... fortunate for us!

This was me and my partner’s first time here. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and felt welcomed. The ambiance was intimate and comfortable. Our waitress was personable, very hospitable and anticipated our wants and needs by providing us with everything without having to ask. She was very knowledgeable of the menu which helped us understand and made it easier for us to decide on what we wanted—this really made our dining experience smooth. I was able to customize my pasta meal to accommodate my taste and the portion size was great with great flavor for an affordable price! Well pleased with everything. Will be going back

It's a nice restaurant at the marina, loved the decor. Food was relatively average, ordered the fish cod sandwich, and lobster roll. The pretzel was good though as an appetizer.

Nice location, terrible food!! Took my wife on her birthday because she wanted to be near the water. We were. She ordered the whitefish and it had no flavor, but, it had more flavor than the meatloaf sandwich that I ordered. Salt could not help it. Gravy was useless. Plastic utensils and a cardboard box for a plate. Mom had better food at her senior living home. Interesting decor if you want to have a drink, but, please do not eat the food.

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I got the shrimp tacos and they were good my only complaint was a bit too much coleslaw for my liking. My wife got the Mike's Burger and really enjoyed it. Definitely want to go again and try something else from the menu.

Mike's on the Water in St. Clair Shores, Michigan is an unbelievably wonderful restaurant. First, the cuisine (especially the fresh fish like Trout and Whitefish) are absolutely out of this world. The salads, chicken, and burgers are wonderful too. The Wait Staff is always so kind and willing to go out of their way to satisfy the customers every wish. Second would have to be the outside double deck level atmosphere for dining. The restaurant is located on a canal with direct boating access to Lake St. Clair. The boats are able to dock on the piers adjacent to the restaurant. It is just so unique to be able to sit outside on a nice afternoon or evening and have a terrific meal while watching the incredible motor boat activity. Plus there is always great recorded music being played on the deck to enhance the atmosphere even more. I would return to this unique restaurant as often as possible.....5 Stars in every possible way!

First time here and was really looking forward to being outside and enjoying the food. Unfortunately it wasn't the best experience. It was a Saturday afternoon April 15th so there first warm day of the season. We only had to wait about 30 minutes for a table outside but then didn't get greeted for 27 minutes once at the table. Finally we got a new server and was taken care of but then the food came out wrong multiple times. Our onion soup was missing the cheese and fried onions, our entress came out with out the chips on one. The fries on another and the toppings on the chicken sandwich. I've done over 400 Google reviews and don't leave many bad ones so when I do leave a bad review it truly means it was not a good experience. I just wish management would of came over and at least attempted to make things right. Hopefully things will go better for them this summer. I will say I enjoyed the pretzel bites out of all the things we ordered.

I like the atmosphere and the staff has always been very friendly. However it's not vegetarian friendly. They pretty much only have a veggie burger which isn't usually cooked very well or a pretzel appetizer. It's a nice place to sit by the water and drink though.

Mike's on the water was excellent. Not just because of the really great location, but also the wait staff and the food was great. The atmosphere was incredible. I felt like I was in a friendly fun laid back place in the Florida keys. The cheeseburger and Taylor tots wee excellent.. our sever was a 10. Super friendly and helpful and to top it off I even got to meet the owner and get to know him a bit despite how busy he was hosting all of his guests. What a great place. We will become regulars here soon .

Have loved this restaurant for years! Always a good meal. Service has always been great and we love the size of this restaurant. The air can be a bit smoky sometimes. Must be the ventilation system. On a busy evening, you can sometimes see the haze when you walk in. Not enough too keep us away, just that the cooking smell can end up lingering on your clothing.

It's just a bar....but a Lake St. Clair bar is pretty special. The view to the water is swell, with marina traffic in and out. Watching the boat drivers navigate the channel to find parking is pretty entertaining for this landlubber. The vibe at Mike's is lively and the staff is eager to please. Some suggestions? Whitefish dip to start, fried shrimp as your entree and extra horseradish-fueled slaw! If you get the chance, have an after-dinner cocktail on the outside platform bar upstairs. It's a terrific way to bask in the mood that Mike's has created!

Out of all the places we've eaten on the water this is one of our favorites. Service was friendly and quick. The food was very good and priced fairly. The pretzel bites were the best. We also enjoyed the fish tacos. The lobster wasn't the best we've had but it was good. If you haven't it's worth your time to boat over to mines and enjoy the good. Don't get there too late add it's always got a crowd.

I was looking for a nice spot to eat a meal, outside on a patio, preferably seafood & on the water. Upon arrival to Mikes, it was a little drive through a parking lot & boat docks/wells, all the way in the back, finally saw the restaurant. Appearance was cute with boater decor, walking in the front door I was surrounded by things (articles, photographs etc.) all over the walls & ceiling. The restaurant/bar is large with many rooms, gift shop, patio, deck & boat wells. The front room hostess told us that if we wanted to sit outside, to walk through the restaurant to the back where we would be greeted by a second hostess to be seated. No one was around to seat us, but a couple servers saw us & smiled. We sat ourselves. The menu items all sounded relatively appetizing so we were really excited to try multiple different things, being that it was our first time coming to Mikes. We came in at 410pm, had already checked the menu out online so we knew what we wanted. Our server brought us drinks and we placed our order. The order was clam chowder with fried mushrooms & ranch, as well as 3 fish sliders with onion rings & ranch. The fried mushrooms came out first, 20 minutes or so go by & still no soup, no fish sliders, no onion rings. My partner went for a walk around the restaurant, saw our server smoking a cigarette in the shed & he sat down. Finally she comes to the table to let us know that she "lost" our ticket, & asked us what our order was. 20 minutes later, a food runner brought out the food. He was kind enough to make a couple trips, to bring us crackers, ranch and tarter sauce. Eventually our server checked on us, naturally we were a bit unsettled but didn't need anything from her aside from the refills on our drinks. Food was great, but it was now over an hour later & time to go. We wanted to speak to a manager to let them know our first time experience. My partner is a server, which he explained to the manager. The manager casually smiled said he's heard good & bad things about the server, and since my partner is a server "well then you know how it is...." the manager said, & smiled. He stated that when we come back, he will serve us next time. Manager seems pretty confident, & not sure he took our experience seriously. We didn't leave with the greatest feelings, & being that my partner is a server, no, he doesn't lose his customers tickets because then he loses his tip money. If we come back, I'm looking forward to the manager serving us! Should be an absolutely wonderful experience, with no lost ticket & no hour wait for a simple order of fried food and soup.

It's ok. Relatively low cost. Small menu. If you like panko breading you probably will like it. More of a place for cocktails. Oh yeah don't add fries to your meal, $2.00 bucks more and you don't get many come in the same basket the rest of the food comes in, no room.

Mike's on the Water is a staple for St. Clair Shores and surrounding area residents and boaters who enjoy being on the water. My wife and I enjoy going here on dates or with friends throughout the summer months even though we do not own a boat. The water/marina feel sets for a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy food and drinks. The best part of Mikes outside of the atmosphere is the service and drinks. We have been here dozens of time and have always had great service and the drink prices are more than fair. Personally, we feel like the food could use a boost. The food is not bad, but it's not great either. We typically come here for drinks and maybe an appetizer. If the food went from good to great Mike's would be an easy 5-stars.

Local favorite restaurant, decent food and drink offerings. A good place to sit out near the marina, the location is absolutely the best thing it's got going for it. Great place for a bite to eat or a drink but over hyped by locals in my opinion. The service is probably the biggest downfall here, if you need Ketchup or something you can't get the attention of anyone on staff aside from your waitress specifically. These folks run around with blinders on and seem to actively avoid acknowledging you if you're trying to get someone's attention. Not sure if this is a product of the wait staff not pooling tips together, like every server for themselves or something, but when all you want it some mayo it's pretty annoying having all this staff running around you and you're stuck waiting for your server. This is something I've experienced on multiple occasions at Mike's unfortunately.

Salvatore Scallopini is by far my favorite italian restaurant to go to. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality & amount of the food received. The atmosphere is loud however thats because its busy all the time which is a testament to their great food & service. The minestrone soup, salad with creamy romano, and bread are what make this place stand out for me among other restaurants in general as the bread is perfectly fresh, and the soup and salad have a flavor that is unmatched in both freshness and taste. I introduced my girlfriend from Rochester to Scallopini and she too can attest that it is her favorite italian restaurant as well. Another perk that Scallopini provides is payment via TradeFirst, my family frequently utilizes this form of payment so it is greatly convenient on our behalf to pay for dinner here via TradeFirst. My only recommendations for Scallopini are to add tripe to the menu and to either expand locations or to expand square footage of locations in both the restaurant itself and parking lot (for GP location).

I always like voming to this place in SCS. It's obviously "on the water" which makes it worth going to alone. Their Peggy Punch is always delicious every last time I've had it. The food is greasy, but pretty good. In my photo is the shrimp burger. The shrimp is formed into this patty and they give you a sauce to put on top (almost like a seafood mayo) and it was pretty delicious. Only thing I'd change is having our bills split up. We weren't asked, the waitress just assumed our group of 9 was all on the same check. Meh.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The outdoor seating reminded me of the outdoor seating in Florida. Please give this restaurant a try. You will really enjoy it. We are definitely coming back.

We went on a whim and came away really impressed. Located inside a marina and on the water, the menu and ambiance was terrific. I have never had a lobster roll like that! Soooo yummy. Prices were reasonable. We had a wonderful server Cindy. So personable and friendly. Cant wait to go back!

Staff is so sweet and nice! Food was super yummy, but my drink was even better! Very chill & casual by the water 😍

Nice, quaint spot for a bite to eat and a drink. Good food and reasonable prices. Not the fastest service, but you're not coming for dine 'n dash! Seafood and non seafood options. Dishes for kids, too. It's a great place! Mike is opening a bigger space soon for banquets and parties. He does a lot for charities in the area. Great place to support!

This was the most disgusting food I’ve had in a while. I think most things are cooked straight from frozen and served without seasoning. The cod burger tasted like fried paper. The lobster Mac and cheese was so gross. The batter of the fried mushrooms was flavorless. The clam chowder tasted like it came from a can. The mussels were good. The server was friendly and attentive. I will never return here or recommend to others.

I went to Mike's on the water the last day they were open for the season, which was November 26, 2023, I also went with friends there, 3 of us had the end of there season special which was a hamburger, fries, and a pop for $8, we all enjoyed our food, it was cooked to perfection, the waitress was very friendly, they also had a beautiful Christmas tree there
