Sitting here in the lobby of "The Palms" waiting to check out. Overall it was a wonderful 3 day stay. Upon arrival, I was a little disappointed because we always stayed at big luxury resorts, and this was a little smaller and tucked away. But after the first day, I'm truly appreciative of the home feel the staff gives, like family. Everything is laid back, if you looking for a crazy, off-the-wall experience this place is definitely not for you. If you want a place for reflection, serenity, and blissful peace. Please come here. My husband and I really connected (conversation wise) something we never did at the big resorts. The beach is private, pool area clean, and quiet. I had a cruzan confusion drink and can I tell you "WOW" Breakfast- the steak and eggs are like butter, omelet fluffy please get!! It's not all-inclusive, but everything is reasonably priced, and good. Dinner-Alfredo w shrimp delicious. This resort is not "How Stella got her groove", but it's definitely where Terry McMillan wrote the book. Couples, over 30 crowd, or looking for reflection place. "The Palms" should be pick. Hope to see you when I return.

We stayed here for 6 days this past week. I almost don't want to write a review because of how amazing it is. Very secluded on the beach location right outside our back door. New management and staff do a fabulous job. Great food great entertainment and hardly any people. I highly recommend this spot. Michelle and shawn the bar tenders took very good care of us the whole time. We will be back next year. A diamond in the ruff. Perfect getaway!!!

Awful experience. Well not all of it was awful. We loved jamming to the music and taking pictures. Ran out of wrapped silverware. Waitress kept forgetting about us and the things we asked for. We sat their picking at our food until she finally brought us some plastic silverware. Then they ran out of champagne. She managed to find some to get a few mimosas over to us. Her nails are way too long. Isn't there a rule for food management. She never used a tray to bring us anything. We laughed about it as this was not the type of experience we were expecting on Easter Sunday. Nonetheless despite our food experience, we still had a great time. For the new management, consider the customers that are waiting and have your staff offer a free drink or appetizer. Perhaps on a next holiday more staff to help with the rush. Best wishes to you and your staff.

Hotel is right on the beach, but the rooms, at least the one I was provided, left much to be desired. None of the lighting in the main room worked, luckily the bathroom lights functioned. The room smelled strongly of mold and sure enough there was mold on the lampshades, I stopped investigating. Rust stains on the floor and warped doors. Clearly a large amount of water damage that had never been fixed from 2017. It’s a shame, as the property has a lot of potential if it were properly cared for. The location isn’t really walkable to anything but the beach or the hotel restaurant which I didn’t venture to. If you don’t care about the room but want to be on the water, this is for you.

We were there for 4 days. The first night we were in room 11A, and the AC did not work. The next morning, we got moved to 12A. That night the power went out and did not come back on until early morning. I’m assuming that this property has no back up generator. Not to mention the outside lighting at night is horrible. The property is very dark and sketchy. The room smelled very bad like mold! Our balcony door lock did not work, along with the microwaves bottom row of numbers doesn’t work. The comforters are very thin and cheap. We were supposed to receive a bottle of sparkling wine and never did. We ate twice at the location. We have breakfast at the bar, the staff was so kind, but I ordered ham, and received 2 slices of ham lunch meat. I was a little taken back! We went to wash laundry at the place prior to leaving, and the dryer didn’t work, so we had to walk around until we found one guy in the parking lot to assist us. He informed us that there is no one on the property at night should anyone need anything- very concerning! When they say beached , is literally like 5 feet of sand and then water. No beach I have ever seen! We spent $2800 on the 4 day vaca at this resort, to only feel like I stayed at a Motel 6. We contacted our travel agency and they informed us that the resort refuses to refund any compensation for such a horrible stay and false advertisement. Do not recommend staying here, ever! To the kind sweet lady that works the front, I sure hope she finds some place awesome to work, this place don’t deserve her and her kindness.

I came with a party of 5. We ordered cheeseburgers and wings. The food took over an hour to get and when we got it it was wrong and it was cold. The waitress was very sweet and did the best she could. The food service and drink service was horrible and we will not be returning because of it. We just bought a condo here so it’s unfortunate that we already have a place to mark off our list to revisit. The place needs new management for sure!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! It's not often I post bad reviews. This hotel is awful. It's located directly on the beach which is it's on positive. Located in a very rough neighborhood this property boasts zero security. No gate guard no roving patrol nothing. Locals walk onto the property nonstop and at all hours. I witnessed an individual walking and pulling on the door handles of cars in the parking lot. My coworker saw the same person on her back patio. When we asked the housekeepers about it they said he was a regular and suffered from mental illness. The staff members are great and very friendly. The rooms were not good. My bathroom had black mold on the wall. My tub was disgusting. The fire alarm was removed, and the floors were filthy. At breakfast, my coworker's coffee cup had a hard ring inside of the cup. When I reached for the pepper grinder I noticed mold inside of it. There are plenty of hotels to choose from. Stay away from this one.

The Palms at Pelican Cove is a small hotel on the northern shores of St Croix within the city limits of Christiansted. Located on a quiet compound, it consists of two buildings and a separate pool / checkin area. The rooms are really nice and very close to the sea. On the ground floor, you can't walk more than 30 ft before you fall in the ocean. The beach itself is pretty typical for St Croix which is known more for the rocky beaches than the sandy ones of St Thomas or St John. But the hotel rooms have patios on the 1st floor and decks on the second. Beware that Land Crabs inhabit St Croix so dont be surprised to find these softball sized creatures wandering about at night!

We've only just arrived, but so far, we are impressed! Our room has a direct view to the ocean, and not only is the food good, but we got to see their Saturday entertainment: Fire Dancers and a DJ. Fantastic!!!

Everything is so clean. The room we were in was right on the ocean. We have a small refrigerator and microwave. Modern decor. The pool is so nice right next to the ocean. We even had beach towels for us in our room. The staff have all been extremely friendly. Great restaurant here again right on the beach. Food is great!! We’ve been here twice now. Love it!

I'm not usually a reviewer, but to save someone else Time and Money I felt I needed to review. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. This was our last night on the island, and we thought this would be fun for our farewell. We made reservations, and arrived about 20 minutes early. They sat us off away from all the other reserved tables, which I thought was strange, but we accepted that. There was a band playing and the music was good, which is the reason for the one star. After sitting there about 30 minutes, and not having anyone even bother coming to our table. We flagged down someone and asked if we could sit under the covered patio, and they allow that. Sitting at the table for about another 30 minutes, and the waiters walking around us ignoring us, I went to the bar and ordered drinks and brought them to our table. Still no one has bothered to come and take our order. I asked the table behind me if they waiting long to be served, and they said they were served right away. Ummm strange! My friend went to the bar, and happened to catch the manager and let her know that we seem to be being ignored and no one had come to our table yet, and she said she would send someone right over. Another 30 minutes have gone by, if not more, and still no waiter. Everyone around us is being served their food, and we are just sitting there. When you try to flag someone down, they just ignored us. My friend got up and managed to see the manager at the bar again, and she said she would be right over. She came and took our order, and the fire-dancers and starting to perform. Now we had been here almost 1.5 hours and still aren't eating. Then about 20 minutes later the manager came out and said they didn't have any steaks and we would need to order something else. It's been about 2 hours and we are finally being served our food, which I can say, tasted pretty good. Service was horrible, not stocked with food correctly, and we had to beg for our check. Not sure what the problem was this night, but every where else we went during our 12 days there, didn't seem to have a problem. Not recommended . Spend your money elsewhere, and enjoy your dinner. Fire-Dancers were not worth the expensive restaurant.

We had a great stay here! The room was nothing fancy, but it was clean, comfortable and we loved the terrace out background facing the water! The pool area was nice and it was quiet. We didn’t rent a car so most of our meals were at the restaurant! We never had a bad experience and the food was amazing! Janeisha was a great server/bartender and took great care of us! She had a lot of recommendations and helped us set a trip up to buck island. Opa did a great job making sure we were happy and comfortable the whole time we were here! Thanks guys!

Did not stay at the resort, only had some drinks at the bar area and we were not disappointed. Our server was prompt and so friendly! She provided quality service and excellent recommendations. Our seats had an intimate view of the beach and sea. A very comfortable atmosphere to relax and enjoy the island life.

We did not stay the night in the hotel. We just ate at the restaurant . We had just gotten into St Croix from Miami and we were just looking for some food. If I could give this review 0 stars I would. Service was ridiculously slow. We waited probably 10-15 min before my husband went up to the bar to order drinks and the bartender finally came over to our table to take our order. My husband ordered the Seafood Supreme which on the menu was $35. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp. K so my husbands food took like 20 min to come out which was fine. And I was told “Your salad will be right out” . . . 15 min later and asked 2x for my salad, my salad came out and we had finished the seafood supreme which was very bland, boring and over cooked. It took forever to get the bill. We just wanted to pay and go. Turns out after we had left the restaurant and gotten to our condo. She charged us for a “Seafood confusion” that was $45! And wasn’t even on the menu! So check your receipts before paying to make sure they’re not trying to sneak charge you for things! Terrible service, terrible food, and because clearly we’re tourist, they charged us for more. Lesson learned.

My girlfriend and I spent three nights there and enjoyed our stay very much! We had a meal everyday at the hotel, and loved exploring the island of St. Croix. The reason for the one star is; I was charged a "$250 incidental fee", which I was advised after 10 business days it'd be reversed. It never was.. Use caution, If they ask it from you.

Definitely not the nicest place. It looks like it would have been really nice originally, but some areas are in a state of disrepair making it not worth the stay. The room looks to have suffered numerous water leaks which were poorly repaired. The ceiling was falling in in the closet from water damage. There was an electrical panel without any cover beneath the damaged closet ceiling. On the plus side, the location is easy to get to and tucked next to the water. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The food at the restaurant was good, but pricey. If you eat, plan to spend at least an hour for one person due to the slow service speed.

If I could give this “resort” zero stars, I would! The rooms are extremely dirty. You definitely need shoes on to walk in your room and in the bathroom/shower. The furniture in the room is very dated, dinged up and old. Maid service never cleaned our room. There are no phones in the room, so we had to walk from our building to the lobby every time we needed towels. The staff said they had a shuttle to take us from the lobby to the hotel room, but it was never available. There is mold everywhere through the room and the balcony is very dirty - you can’t even sit on the balcony lawn chairs. The beach access is a scam! While you can walk to the beach, you definitely can’t get in the water, unless you want to walk over all of the dead coral and seaweed. You HAVE to have a car to get around from the hotel, because it’s in such a remote area. The food and drinks at the restaurant are decent, but very overpriced. The “gift shop” is an absolute joke! The manager is rude and incompetent and talks to her staff like they are children. Just overall, this place is terrible. Stay at the King Christian instead!

I get there a slow season, but all day pool bar means all day pool bar. we got non guest pool passes in hopes for promised 8 dollar all day daiquiris and was greeted by a completely EMPTY restaurant and bar. Not a worker to be found. The only living things inside was the front desk lady and a screaming cat. we leave to go get food back at our airbnb and come back to swim. we see the cat had left a present by the pool that was being ignored by every security person who totally and so not obviously came out to watch us. When we went on a saturday we were greeted by a slow restaurant but at least there was a bartender. she was super nice and i’m sure the other staff is nice if we had the chance to see any. the pool was a nice temp but wayyyy to chemically. my eyes were BURNING and had a coughing fit after retrieving something from the bottom because the fumes were so strong.

We didn't stay here. Dined here for the specific purpose of seeing the Moko Jumbies with the narration by Willard (who gives the history and descriptions). We know other reviews have mentioned issues but our service was top notch! Claudia, our server, made it her mission to take great care of us and she did. Prices were reasonable, service was prompt, and food was delicious! From the moment we were greeted at the host stand to goodbye as we left, it was a delightful evening.

Greatest free show on the island by far!! The stilt walkers were great and the fire dancers were amazing! You can appreciate the work they put into the routines every day, make sure you bring money to tip them for the free show. The buffet was just ok, probably stick with the ala carte many next time like the locals.

The restaurant is very overpriced at least for dinner service. The servers weren't polite and took our plates before we were fished with our food. Also, a mandatory tip for groups over five so would not recommend it for large groups.

  • 1/5 Mayra C. 7 months ago on Google
The food at the restaurant was very poor, cold and not very flavorful, we asked for salt and it never made to our table, my husbands food arrived when 4 of us were almost done with our food, food was a room temperature, our waitress brought the food first and 10 minutes later she brought the silverware. To summarize, bad food, but service and they don’t give the option for you to choose how much you are going to give, they already include an 18% tip, so I guess that’s is why they don’t care to do their job well!

Poorly managed evening - there was a wedding party and for some reason the waitress serving the wedding also had 70% of the other guests. We waited 75 minutes for food, our appetizer never came (how do you run out of chips?) and our waitress never checked on us. It was a bizarre experience. Food was mediocre. I ordered fish and chips and ended up with mostly fries. How does it take over an hour to make mostly fries? I don't recommend this place. They should have told us how long it would take for them to bring the food.

One of the best places to have breakfast with a view on the island. Great food and great prices. Service also was fast. It was just us and and two couples but more than enough space for a large group.

We have attempted to dine there twice in the last two weeks. We will NOT be back. Even though the new PIC is very accommodating, the rest of the staff is completely unaware. After having many conversations with our server, ,,(we ordered 2 Miller lite beers), she informed us that she didn't understand what we wanted. We were very accommodating with the fact that there was a language barrier, no worries. We did get 2 Miller lite bottles of beer. The caps were not twist off, therefore asking the server to open them. She wasn't very happy and took both beers back to the bar to have them opened. When she brought the beers back, (after feeling as though we had inconvenienced her), we placed an order for a calamari appetizer, and a seafood pasta dish. (In the interim, there was a couple waiting for a margarita pizza to go, at the table next to us). The pizza came out completely wrong, they returned it to the bar and left without the pizza. We were then told that they were out of Calamari. At that time we decided to cancel our main entree order and leave. We received our tab for 2 beers,(the menu price was $5 per beer). Nowhere did it indicate that this was a happy hour price. Our tab came at $7 per beer. When we questioned the server, she went off the rails. After being directed to speak to the manager, we were informed that, this server had had many customer problems all in the same day. Needless to say, we wish them well, BUT, WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Very very sad
