Isobel and her beautiful Shakespeare themed B&B made the end of our family road trip amazing! We got a last minute booking to the Romeo and Juliet suite and were not disappointed. The bed was comfortable and the jetted tub was awesome. We loved looking at the original architecture and furnishings. Isobel made us the most delicious hot breakfast and even made me a waffle without dairy because I couldn’t have dairy at the time while breast feeding. She was welcoming to us even though we had a 2mo with us which was refreshing. The place is walkable to restaurants and shops and next to a bunch of other beautiful buildings. I’m glad we stayed here instead of a normal hotel in KC. She has done an amazing job restoring the natural beauty of the home. I highly recommend visiting! Thanks again, Isobel!

What a great little place to stay. This place was reasonably priced with excellent service. Isobel was extremely kind and loves the property and the history. She makes breakfast herself and it was a top notch breakfast. I admit I was scared I might accidentally break something when you are staying in a house over a hundred years old. I recommend the Romeo and Juliet suite. Great way to impress your lady.

We had an absolutely stellar stay at this beautiful, one-of-a-kind B&B. The owner greeted us warmly, catered to our request for early check in, and even let us join the tour that was scheduled slightly after our arrival. The architecture and history of the house is incredible. We were quite comfortable during our stay, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

This is a wonderful place. The historical value along with the fantastic restoration, especially the stained glass windows and woodwork, make the visit worth it alone. We stayed in the Verona suite which was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The crustless quiche we have for breakfast was one of the best I ever had, got the recipe. Isobel gave us a tour of the place giving us even more insight to the history of the mansion. Fantastic place, highly recommend it.

Thank you for letting us know before we booked that you follow the lying cdc and their politically motivated guidelines. Glad we didn't waste the money with a business owner that doesn't welcome people with common sense. Enjoy your face diapers and Sheep's milk.

Wow! What an amazing experience! Every inch of this home is beautiful, peaceful, historic and Isobel is amazing host. Everything about the Shakespeare will bring you back again, I know we are already planning our next stay. Beautiful rooms, freedom to come and go, and the homemade breakfast was an amazing finish to our stay.

Shakespeare Chateau is the very definition of a destination stay. This historic 1888 mansion is so beautifully restored and furnished it will take your breath away. The rooms have modern amenities while also still immersing you in the original history of the home. Isobel is so knowledgeable not only about her Inn, but also the history of Hall Street and the other remaining mansions there and around St. Joseph. Breakfasts are served at the time of your choosing and always deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. Whether you love the bed & breakfast experience or have never tried it, I can with great confidence tell you the Shakespeare Chateau will not disappoint.

We booked this to try something new and we definitely was not disappointed. Upon arrival the place was beautiful. We were greeted by Isobel who was very nice. She explained how everything worked and showed us around. So much history! 7 foot stained glass panels in the staircase that has dragons carved in them. They place was so quiet. Everything was very clean. We could come and go as we please. The breakfast was delicious scones and fresh fruit because we wanted a lighter breakfast. They shoes were amazing! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Marvelous grand home! We loved our stay!! We enjoyed walking around the historic mansion area. Nice, safe, walk to downtown. The breakfast was fantastic! We've stayed at many B&B mansions. The Shakespeare Chateau Inn is right at the top!!

Home is extremely well preserved and modernized appropriately. Lots of original stained glass and fabulous woodwork, yet heat and A/C and lots of lighting everywhere you walk makes it feel modern while living in 19th century opulence. Much more beautiful than the website photos can display. Owner, Isobel, was very helpful in accommodating dietary requirements. It's a relaxing yet invigorating place to stay in St.Joe.

A lovely house and with a lovely host. My girlfriend and I were able to get a last second room in The Twelfth Night Suite. Beautiful high ceilings and an extremely comfortable bed. The breakfast in the morning was delicious.

So very disappointed. We were scheduled to stay here but due to the lack of following ADA laws we have been forced to cancel our stay. I have a service dog who was not going to be permitted to do his full job to help me due to the lack of ADA laws. When I tried to kindly explain them I was basically told my needs don’t matter. We were looking forward to staying here and it ruined an important weekend.

My husband and I spent our 1 year wedding anniversary here. The building was stunning, as well as our room. We were looking for someplace wonderful to have a lazy stay-in celebration and we found it. The breakfast was amazing both mornings and while we did have to drive a few minutes out, we found a couple of awesome restaurants fairly close by. I would also like to add that there was an outdoor cat on the property that I named “Thumbs” because they had thumbs on one front paw and one back paw- a huge plus for me. Thanks for the wonderful place to celebrate one year of marriage. I would love to make this an annual stay. - The Smiths

Our recent stay at the Shakespeare Chateau was one we will always remember. The renovated mansion is absolutely beautiful. Isobel gave us such a warm welcome that we felt comfortable during our entire stay. We also enjoyed meeting other guests at breakfast. St. Joseph has many museums and places of interest but our stay would not have been the same without the time spent at Shakespeare Chateau. We definitely recommend it and would love to stay there again.
