Amazing experience! The entire house inside and out is breathtaking, our room was gorgeous! You park on the road, but it's a relatively quiet street so not a big deal. Not an overabundance of electrical outlets but expected in an older house and easily dealt with. We walked in to the smell of fresh baking bread, which we were served for breakfast the next morning along with a 3 cheese quiche that was to die for! Definitely recommend and can't wait to come back!

This experience was great! The room was beautiful. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was great. They serve you at your table and when you check in they want to know about food allergies and since my husband is gluten free they prepared him something for breakfast that he could eat! It was beyond wonderful staying there! We will definitely be back. It beats the chain hotels and is very unique!

The Whiskey Mansion is a beautiful place to stay, everything from the rooms, decor, to the amazing breakfast. The beds are comfortable ( stayed in 2 different rooms), the woodwork is amazing to look at, and the breakfast. Fresh bread made in house, and the staff are extremely accommodating!! Thank you for your generous hospitality.

Highly recommend! My partner and I stayed there last weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The mansion and property are gorgeous, historic, and very well taken care of. Our room was lovely and clean, and the owner (Olin) was helpful and communicative. The breakfast in the morning is BEYOND phenomenal. We were able to spend some time chatting w the owner about the town and the property and it’s very clear how much he cares. He also gave us great dinner and drink suggestions, and other helpful suggestions for things to do in the KCMO area. We left feeling like we made a new friend. We hope to get back to visit again.

The staff was friendly and polite. The house is absolutely gorgeous. The room was very clean and comfortable. My husband and I had a relaxing night and a great breakfast in the morning. If you are in St. Joseph, I highly recommend staying here.

This is a little bit belated review on my part. I stayed at the Whiskey Mansion last November I believe it was, as a literal walk in without any earlier reservation, hoping I could land a room someplace and upon walking in I found it was in a beautiful place and I was welcomed by Olin, a kind and considerate host. He and I talked a lot about historical preservation in Ol St. Jo It’s people like him who take a chance on a place and put their heart and soul into bringing the place back to life after it has faded away from so much neglect. The same kind of people who once built this country into what it was are the same kind of people today with spirit and focus who are preserving places like this and building them back up. This was a lovely place for the family who once called it home so long ago and now I feel like one of those lucky enough to have been able to visit. Thanks man.

Stay here! That’s the end of my review but I’ll add some details if you need them. We are traveling across the country and found this place in a Google search a few hours before we needed a bed. We were warmly welcomed despite coming in at 9 pm. The inn is fascinating. So much love and attention have been given to the facility, which has a big history. The room was special, quiet and interesting. This was the most comfortable bed, pillow, comforter and shower I have had in all our nights on the road. I felt the stress melting away as I took a very hot shower. The breakfast was fantastic: a delicious vegan option was presented and we ate every bit. If we’d stayed longer I would have gone to The Belle Epoch Cafe, also renovated by the owner. All in all, the few minutes off the highway to drive into town are well worth the effort. I hope we can return on our next trip west.
