Working in the area and wanted pizza, I try and find places like this and typically stay away from chain or traditional pizzerias. This place held nothing back, unbelievable freshness and the menue had me so undecided with so many good options to chose from. I decided on the pesto that was highly recommended from my waiter. Wish I would of got his name, he was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu and the history of the place. The pizza was phenomenal. I'm very sad I didn't find this place before now it's almost time to leave the area but I will be back and highly recommend this establishment. The local brew I had was also very good.

Very good!! I got my gluten intolerant cauliflower pizza crust with the suprema!! Both pizzas were spot on!! The salad was perfect as well!!! Nice treat while traveling through St. Joseph, Mo.

Awesome fire oven pizza place with original and delicious pizza. Service was extremely fast and really friendly. Worth stopping if you're looking for a good pizza with a cool atmosphere.

Service is suspect, but they try. Food is delicious and a good variety of pizzas with Red Sauce and white sauces available. This is the Crepa pizza that is really good. The Pesto pizza is also amazing! Kinda pricey for the pizza but unique and good pizza.

The food, atmosphere, wine selection, and most importantly the service surpasses my expectations. Our server (Jesse) went above and beyond. We have had him several visits and he’s always amazing. The food never disappoints! This is a spot that is a little local gem that we love to stop in and enjoy.

Very nice place to eat away from the interstate close to downtown. Food was great and some local beers as well. Parking next to the building. Seating inside and outside. Bruschetta was a little different with bread pieces instead of on bread, and it was really good! Patata pizza was excellent.

Excellent. Delicious handcrafted food, quality ingredients, nice ambiance, and stellar service. Impressed on all accounts. The only reason I don't have pictures of the food is because it was so delicious I devoured it before remembering to take them. Hopefully I'll have time to revisit this place before I leave town. Anyone else passing through, I highly highly recommend it. Locals probably already know this gem of a pizza place is here. This is now in my top 10 for authentic style Italian/Secilian pizza places I've found in the US. Loved it. **Was able to come back before leaving town!!! Tried the Quattro Formaggio, absolutely my new favorite. The Margarita is excellent as well.

This place has fantastic food! The physical space it occupies is so unique and warm, the atmosphere is comfy and chill, and this establishment is the ONLY place in town that makes the pizza in front of you and cooks it in a brick oven. The ingredients/toppings are simple, fresh, and delicious. The brick oven makes the pizza crust perfectly crisp. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone looking for something different. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely the very best truly Italian pizza you can find in the KC/St.Joe area. Made our Italian exchange student feel so comfortable eating something so much like home. Grazie Il Lazzarone!

The staff were so friendly and responsive. The pizza and bruschetta that was ordered was delicious. The crust crisp but tender, perfect thickness, and the toppings were generous but not over done. You can tell they use quality ingredients, they shine in every bite. This should be everyone in the areas go to spot for amazing pizza!

We grabbed multiple pizzas, an excellent salad, and the bruschetta for lunch today. Everyone was fed well with very high-quality pizza! We are just coming back from a trip to Italy, and this is absolutely on par with everything that we found overseas. When in Saint Joseph, make sure to hit the spot!

Great food besides one day where the whole rim was burnt lol. But that only happened once and most of the time it’s been a solid 10/10 on the food. If you think you had the best pizza but haven’t been here, then you haven’t had the best pizza!

Simple and Delicious! Beautiful historic building inside and out , impressive layout with the prep area, fresh ingredients and oven front and center. The Pizzaiolo had my Salsiccia pizza ready in a matter of minutes from start to it's delectable finish. The flavors were top notch from the crust to the distinctive sauce and finally the sausage. Overall a 10 / 10 for my tastes.

It was very nice. The ambience had a nice vibe and the pizza was very delicious. It was more Italian style..so don't go thinking about heaps of toppings. It is also wood fired...so different taste throughout, but good. Give it a try!

Wow, we were impressed!! Highly recommend!! We were looking for something different on Father's Day and had never eaten here before so we decided to give it a try. Right away we were greeted and seated. The server was very warm and professional! He was very helpful in going over the menu items. We all loved what we ordered, even my daughter who tends to be a bit "picky" with her pizza. We will be back!!! Thank you for making our first visit a great experience!!

The crust is hand stretched and the pizza is wood fired... lots of options including dessert pizza... This will be a permanent stop anytime passing through St. Jo. Highly recommend.

I can't believe I waited so long to try this Il Lazzarone. The service, food, and atmosphere was amazing. We went during lunch hour on a Wednesday. I wish I could have went back for dinner. I will definitely be coming back again soon. Everything was delicious.

Honestly, this might be the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life, we tried 8 different ones that were on the menu and they were all absolutely delicious! Props to the guy making all these pies for our big group! And our waitress was wonderful. Excellent experience 10/10!

We ordered a Pizza to go. It's a little expensive, but tasted great cooked in Artesian oven.

Conner was excellent. Very knowledgeable of local craft beers. The Cauliflower Chrese (GF) crust was amazing. #BestPizza
