This is a great sports bar option, especially if you’re a hockey fan. Food is solid and the service is good and plenty of bar seating. Obviously a great spot before a Wild game, but we liked it on a quiet day too.

Went here for a late lunch today. I had the street tacos with al pastor meat (sweetened pork with pineapple chunks) and my husband had a cheeseburger and fries. I got three tacos, loaded with meat, onions and cilantro, refried beans, Spanish rice and lime wedges. Our server, Kris, recommended the meat and he was spot on! It was excellent. The rice and beans were also very good. My husband's burger was cooked to a perfect juicy med rare, and had wonderful flavor. His fries were the skinny ones that we love and were super good. Our server, Kris, was excellent! Very neat and clean in the restaurant and in the bathroom. I highly recommend this restaurant. Their prices are a bit steep but so is everywhere else these days. Also the portions are so huge, we both brought home a bunch of leftovers.

What I saw the other night was awful nightly service. Bouncers putting hands on guests, let alone women, along with screaming names so all can take note in the bar. Pitiful.. as a business owner I would definitely want better for my staff. This isn’t a low class establishment… Nor has it ever been, but when you hire individuals, you hire who brands your business. It’s embarrassing and a bad look. I won’t be going back, probably lot of guests that night won’t either. We are in a different society of people.. Everyone deserves respect. When you get big, you forget what’s right.

I went here for the first time after The Eagles concert. It was packed with people but the place is big enough to contain such a happy crowd. We found a nice little table in the back room, away from the loud TVs and shared a couple of apps and conversation. Our server was really kindly and welcoming, upbeat and attentive while tending to the needs of a horde of hungry people. She set the vibe for a fun and relaxed date. 10/10 would come here again.

In town for a hockey tournament with our kids in tow. Went to check out this bar & grill of a former NHL player. Low & behold...Tom Reid was there! Took a picture with our hockey players & gave each of them an ornament. Excellent food! Cold beer & great service. The independent worker for the pull tab station didn't show up at 12 as the sign stated, but was not the bars fault & we were winners anyway! Thank you Tom for being a great host!

Great if you DON’T CARE ABOUT THE EARTH. Fantastic atmosphere to watch the game with true fans. Food and drinks were fantastic. BUT plastic solo cups?!?! Really?! I couldn’t stop thinking about the thousands of plastic cups you were wasting each week. A $9 beer should not come in a plastic cup unless I’m in the arena. When it’s shoulder to shoulder after a game, I can understand your place doesn’t have enough glasses or maybe you can’t keep up with dirty dishes. Maybe. But until it’s standing room only, it’s laziness.

We decided to stop here for an impromptu breakfast on a late Sunday morning while visiting a family member at United Hospital. Tom Reid's Hockey City pub is within walking distance from the hospital. We were pleasantly surprised to see they have a very nice patio in back with brunch options on Sunday. Patio opens up to a full bar and indoor seating as well. The patio had live music we enjoyed very much. We will definitely stop in again if we get the chance.

Love this place!! American food menu with lots of options - their chicken tender basket is my favorite! Once the puck drops during Wild games, they have 2 for 1 drink specials. It’s a fun atmosphere to watch the game at with the audio playing too. Great location to walk to lots of places as well!

THE premier hockey bar in the Twin Cities. Atmosphere and decor are everything a hockey fan could want. The bar just keeps going, so even though it is packed, there is a place for everyone. The poutine is amazing, and I highly recommend it as a personal entrée. The service is quick and very friendly. Full bar and a good selection of draft beer. To top it all off, we got to meet the man himself. The only reason we left this place is because the lights came on and we had to go home.

We hadn't been here in years but wanted a bite to eat before the Eagles concert. It was packed of course but service was fast and the food came quickly. Cajun rub chicken wings and a cheeseburger and fries were all good. Lots of TVs to watch sports. I love this place!

Cool place! Close to Excel Energy center in case your going to an event. Walkable for sure. Service was great, even after a concert. The poutine did NOT disappoint! Otherwise great place for a casual night out.

Food and service was fantastic. Make sure to get there early before home sporting events it fills up very fast. Great 2 for 1 on drinks if you're just sitting in the bar watching the home game.

A must visit in St Paul if you’re visiting and the best place to go before a hockey game. It’s always really crowded and often difficult to find space to drink. Plan ahead and you won’t be disappointed. We’ve had a few unfriendly server experiences so we stick to the bar now.

It's a great pregame atmosphere! There's plenty of room, but it was packed before the Wild game. Even so, our service was great. What a fun atmosphere for hockey fans!

Had plans to eat elsewhere but stopped here for a look and a bevvie. Atmosphere/decor was fun! Duh! Love hockey! Quite a few items on the menu looked yummy...plan to stop by again someday to have a bite.

This place has lots of competition on it's street but I had a great weekday lunch here. I ordered a cheeseburger and tater tots with iced tea. Firstly, the iced tea is the best in town! I don't know what they do differently but it's fantastic. The burger and tots were cooked perfectly. The waitress was friendly. I will note that I was the only person of color in the establishment. I'm not sure what weekends or evenings look like but something to consider it you are sensitive to that. I felt comfortable being there and I will be back soon!

It was crazy crowded because there was a home Wild playoff game the night we visited. Even so, our server was very friendly and attentive to our requests. We had some buffalo chicken wings for a pregame snack. Wings were good. Tom Reid's has a great atmosphere if you don't mind the crowded conditions.

Great place before a hockey game! Food quite tasty and service is outstanding.

This place used to be fun until the General manager lady started throwing her weight around. She told the bartender she couldn’t serve my cousin because he was homeless. My cousin is a pilot for Delta! He was dressed dingy because he was at his shop and decided to stop in for a beer. To my understanding this is not the first time this has happened with somebody. I was at the Pill Box and heard a table venting about her. To my understanding she is talked about quite a bit in the service industry. As long as she is there, I wont be back

A true hockey bar. Even though I'm not a Wild fan, but an Avs fan, people are always fun to kid around with. Great pre game atmosphere. Crowded but fun!

Solid place to go before an event at Xcel. Or whenever. Drinks always good. Food always decent. Best place to watch a hockey game. Only bummed that they drop to a condensed menu on days with an event.

Love this spot! Whether it’s before an xcel event or middle of a week day, Tom Reid’s never disappoints! Kathy has her finger on the pulse of everything it’s an incredible spot with incredible hospitality! Don’t sleep on lunch during the week

A great and busy place. Not far from excel center. A good selection of beer and a full bar. The food is typical other bar and grill. There was 4 of us we were happy with are selection. Pull tag are also available.

I am so incredibly disappointed. I used to frequent Tom Reid’s for several years. The service back then was definitely 5 star. I knew all the bartenders and waitresses. I even knew Tom Reid’s himself, and the locals. I stopped by tonight with my sisters 8/20/22 (on a Saturday night) and the service was HORRIBLE! We had two different waitresses and the second one told us they were no longer serving. We were there at 11pm. We left immediately. I’m sorry but this is not the same Tom Reid’s I remember. I will not be returning. Makes me sad.

Went down here as it was recommend by the receptionist at our Hampton inn hotel right down the block . The clerk gave us a coupon for a couple free appetizers. Definitely a hockey centric bar. Lots of different flags and banners hanging in here . Food all sounded so good . Fries come with everything it seems. The cheese curds were fantastic . Sea Salt and pepper wings were great as well . The poutine was good. We added the pulled pork. It was braised pork didnt really add much in my opinion and needed salt . The bacon cheeseburger was ok. Not bad not great . The appetizers were the star here for sure. Will definitely be back here

This was a hopping and happening restaurant! Walked in and had a table right away. Our server was lovely and fun and the food was great! Loved it! First time in Minneapolis.

Start off with the poutine. Incredible. We came to TR's before Brooks & Dunn and met friends for pregame. The tab was way cheaper than we expected, the beautiful waitstaff was incredibly friendly and accurate. The drinks were strong and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub is the perfect sports bar near the Xcel Energy Center. The energetic atmosphere and plenty of TVs showing sports games make it a great spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat before or after a Wild game. The menu features delicious classic pub fare with a unique twist, and a great selection of local beers and creative cocktails. But what sets Tom Reid's apart is the exceptional service. The staff is friendly and attentive, always happy to offer recommendations and accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences. Overall, Tom Reid's is a must-visit sports bar for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and service near the Xcel Energy Center. Who knows, maybe you meet thee Tom Reid!

Went there on Sunday before a 3pm Wild game. Place was packed with fans but got a table quickly, service was fast, food was great, and we won $230 on pull tabs. Fantastic atmosphere.

I come from a family of Mexican restaurants and stopped by after noticing their Taco Tuesday sign outside. A hockey bar with country music playing caused me concern. I literally told the server I will take a risk and order the tacos. To my surprise the tacos were very tasty. I had two el pastor which few make well. Theirs were decent. Their chipotle chicken was dry but very good. The rice was what I would expect from a hockey bar but their beans were fantastic. Verde sauce was a hime run. Over all, I enjoyed it very much. The service was above average as the bartender noticed my beverage and came around to fill it when my server was busy. I am just down the street and now have a spot for a "quick fix" when I have the craving. I recommend Taco Tuesday at Tom Reids Hockey City Pub.

Great atmosphere, personable staff, and a variety of good music playing. We were going to go next door to eat and decided to go here instead. I'm happy we did. The food was great and the waffle fries are to-die-for!

I don't write a lot of reviews for Minnesota bars and restaurants anymore. (I did after all move away in part because of so few good places to eat and drink.) But I have to say something about Tom Reid's, where friends and I went twice during a recent visit. Here it is: Tom Reid's serves the very best bloody mary I've ever had in the twin cities. For this reason alone, you should go here for their Sunday brunch, or for lunch on Saturday or any other day of the week. Their food and service is generally good, and it's a nice indoor/outdoor space. The hockey theme is also nice without being overbearing. But really, come here at least for the bloodies.
