Many friends have recommended this restaurant, but the ingredients, taste and price are unsatisfactory. The price for adults is raised to $35.99/person. Marinated Beef, Fresh Beef Tripe and Beef Tripe are good. Bad Reviews: 1. SZE Crispy Pork is not recommended. It is not crispy at all. It is very hard and seems to have been placed for a long time. The fungus tastes like chewing wood chips, with a sandy texture. 2. We were forced to tip 17% when there were less than four people, and the waiter only came over to add ice water once, not even the soup in the hot pot, which was almost dry by the end. 3. We were told to charge a 3% fee when using a credit card, which was not encountered in other Chinese restaurants in the city.

Look no further for the best hot pot place. All you can eat was definitely worth it because we got to try so many things. The meat and produce quality was really good and the broth was so so good. The waiter was kind and laid back in a good way. I will definitely be returning.

Went for the all-you-can-eat hotpot. The food was good, service was not so much. They don't come to refill your water or check to see if you'd like to re-order more food. You need to constantly flag down someone or hope someone walks by your table in order to talk to them. It was also very hot inside the restaurant... not sure if they don't have a working AC or something. It's $35.99 per person. They also automatically charge you a 17% gratuity tip ($13.20)... Kind of surprising considering the fact the service was nonexistent. Oh yea, don't forget the credit card fee they also charge ($2.73). The total for our table came out to be... $71.98 (for two people) + $13.20 (auto charge for their nonexistent service) + $2.73 ("service fee") + $5.67 (tax) = $93.58. I have no problem with the bill or cost of the food, but for the price they charge, you'd think they would at least provide better service.

I showed up at around 12:30 on 8-20-2021 and the place was dead. However, I had a good experience the last time I was here so maybe it's the new location? Maybe it's the pandemic? There's one couple that have already been waited on when I arrived. My wife and I are from out of town and she's Chinese so we try to stop at more authentic Chinese places when we're around big cities. She wasn't with me this time but the menu had apparently changed with the location. Odd. I waited in the dining room for 50 minutes on my order. Remember, there was only that one couple that had already ordered when I walked in. It was during this extended period of reflection I realized, this isn't the same Little Szechuan at all. That Little Szechuan is / was in Madison. Well, that's not their fault, it's it? Anyway... I could've robbed the place blind. I was alone in the dining room for almost 25 minutes before the waitress came in for a brief moment but it was just to pass from the kitchen to the bathroom. The phone rang for several minutes and I thought about answering it and telling the customer not to waste their time. Luckily for them, nobody answered. I say "luckily" because my Hunan Chicken was awful. Severely overcooked to the point it was rubbery. I could have turned around and asked for a refund or a re-fry but it was a 3 hour drive home and I already waited an hour for my food. The only thing preventing this from being a one star is the store is very clean and the staff (when you see them) is friendly. Included photo is from around 12:45 of the entire store.

We love this place! Always had great service. My kid gets the mushroom broth, I get the spicy broth (medium). I wish they had taro and a leaner cut of beef - but besides that, it always hits the spot. We go at least once a month and have never had issues with the service.

We (4 adults and a baby) came for "Dinner." We got there around 4pm. It wasn't busy but it looked like there weren't many staff working either. I saw two people in the dining area. All the booths were taken. We chose to sit at a table so no wait time. We waited for 15-20 minutes before I waved a staff to get our order. Once the order was put in, the food came out quickly. Back kitchen staff were quick! It's 35.99 for AYCE per person. They had a large selection on base broth and items to cook in the hotpot. We got the healthy broth (bone broth) and spicy broth (hot). There is a condiment bar, chili oil, soy sauce, etc. Service was bad. No one refilled water or asked us if we wanted anything else. I literally got up and asked for a pitcher of water and refilled our own cups. I had to track down staff to get a second order of meats and vegetables. We were charged 17% Tip. Not sure if that's normal but considering they didn't do anything except bring out our food not sure why we were charged. They also charged me for using my card. Overall, I really enjoyed their food but I don't think I'd go back with poor services yet being charged tip AND card usage fee.

WOW…… this was my first time having “hot pot” and it won’t be my last!!!!!! You pick your broth, veggies, meats and seafood. Then they put the pot of broth in front of you on a burner and set the raw food next to you and you toss in whatever your ready for!!!!! They also have a dipping sauce station where you can make your own dipping sauce!! We had begin broth AND spicy. If you don’t like hot…… don’t get the spicy!!! If you DO like hot then you will be very impressed with the quality of their spicy broth. Just the right amount of heat to get your brow sweating yet you can still taste all the delicious flavors!!! I’ll be back for sure!!!

We are a family of four and went for all you can eat hotpot. The hotpot food was very good. Each plate is in a manageable size and since it's all you can eat, I like that each plate is good for 2-3 people so you can order different varieties, or order a double if you want more. The skewers were very authentic as well...and huge portions. Reminded me of the ones I had in Xian seasoned with cumin. You make your own dipping sauce at the counter. My kiddos loved the experience and had so much food. They usually wouldn't sit still in a restaurant and surprisingly, this place did the trick. 😍😋 Last but not least, free ice cream if you dine-in. Perfect thing to bribe my kids to sit down and eat their dinner. 😅 5 stars and will come back!

Cooking at your table with friends and family? Choose from a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables and broth base. In the photo is a split of Tom Yum and clear “healthy” broth soup base. You get creative at the sauce bar where you can experiment with a dozen of sauces and condiments. Cooked items include familiar appetizers such as egg roll, potstickers. Do you dare the less familiar skewers of gizzard and hearts?!

What a great experience! We went last night didnt wait long for our food. The place was busy but had a friendly and quiet atmosphere. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and all had a great time the food was great and my whole family enjoyed themselves . My kids ate way more then what the would even at home so that was a big win. Staff was friendly and answered any question we had. The place was very clean as well. I loved the new experience and can't wait to be back!

Service was fast and friendly. The portion sizes were large enough to share one pot. I will definitely be returning.

My first time trying hot pot here and I enjoyed it. It’s a good alternative to my regular hotpot place if I didn’t want to drive to MPLS. The service was quick, attentive and very nice. We were sat immediately on Friday night, as dinner progressed the restaurant eventually filled up but there wasn’t a wait. I ordered the Tom Yum soup base, they have the $5 and the $10 options. $5 option is more than plenty for two people. For sides we had sirloin beef, chicken meatballs, pork belly, udon noodles and Japanese pumpkin. I highly recommend ordering the pork belly, you can’t really go wrong with pork belly in hotpot. If you have tried Japanese pumpkin take this occasion and try it, the flavor is sweet, buttery, savory- comparable to a sweet potato sans the texture. As for the Tom yum broth- it was okay, I wouldn’t recommend it, Tom Yum usually has a distinct taste of sour, fragrant and a bit spicy- on this occasion I did order mike per preference of my guest- BUT, the soup definitely lacked the usual Tom Yum taste. I would be back to try the other soups. **Tip** There is a sauce station along the wall: mix it all together- and add extra cilantro. I love cilantro. Cup of ice cream is included with your meal, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Help yourself from the freezer.

Hole in the wall in St Paul with fantastic food you cook yourselves at your table. Unless you are super hungry, I don't recommend the all-you-can-eat order because it ends up being very expensive and you probably would have been able to order per item at less. I learned my lesson for next time!

This is my new favorite hotpot place near the UMN campus! The servers were super nice, and since it was our first time coming here, they showed us how to order and where to get the hotpot ingredients. They regularly came to check in on us and get us whatever we needed. Although the prices are a bit steep (It came to a total of ~$110 for two people, including a 15% tip), the soup itself was delicious, and there were lots of ingredients to choose from. Everything tasted great, and it didn't seem like anything we ate was old or low quality. The restaurant was nice and clean as well. I'd highly recommend the tom yum soup base if you want something a bit sour and spicy. The large pot could easily feed four people. I'd definitely come back if I ever had money to spare.

Ordered thru DoorDash and the timing was fine.... So no excuse there. This was so horrible, we couldn't eat it. The shrimp fried rice tasted old. It was dry and frankly gross. The sesame chicken looked like it came from a mass production manufacturer not a local kitchen. If we had been in the restaurant it would have all been sent back.

Took my mom out for her birthday. The food was ok, nothing to die for. Their service was not very good. No one came around to fill our glass with water and no one took the dirty plates away. We had a hard time communicating with the waiter that we wanted bowls for the soup. On top of that, I wasn’t given a receipt. The man just said the total was $45. I was going to ask for one, but wanted to leave before the big storm. I’m sure that included tip and I don’t remember seeing anywhere that they charge gratitude %. I won’t be going back if this was the last hot pot restaurant in town.

1st visit and not disappointed. We each had our own hot pot and burner, which was very nice. They have a fabulous selection if meat, veggies, and specialty choices to cook and 05 base sauces. I enjoy spicy food and if you order the spicy base, medium is pretty hot! Great experience but it was $$$$

Large dinning room with lots of tables. The server was nice and was able to explain how their AYCE hotpot works and what's included and what's not included. The price for AYCE was $35.99+ Tax (not too sure about gratitude, but my bill came out to $44.94 for 1 person). Nice selection of meat, veggies and sauce for the hotpot.

Went there for dinner on Labor Day night and they still had a lot of crowd. Great tasting food and portion sizes. We couldn’t finish it all and had to do takeout. Loved their ambience and the decor. We didn’t go with “all you can eat menu” but ordered fish tofu pot and Buddhist vegetable delight which were yummy 🤤

We ordered the mushroom and spicy broth for all you can eat. Both were mediocre. The server came to refill our broth with what seems like water, making it even more tasteless. The shrimp was not fresh. Had a smell to it. The pork belly and fungus was hard to chew on. Service was very slow although there was only two other tables. Also, not sure why we were charged an auto gratuity when there was only 3 of us. Was not aware of it and tipped the guy cash. Definitely will not be returning.

Very good hot pot! Love that it’s all you can eat. Ordering was simple, place was clean and the service was fast. Would recommend & come here again!

This is a very delicious hot pot that I try. I love the tomyum flavor the most. I like the portion of the meat and vegetables that is serve. I love the thick noodles! The service there was very friendly. She serve us well and live their customer service their. I will have to go back to try their other menu besides the hot pot. Sorry I didn’t take picture of the cook food. Next time I will take it for sure .

JUST DON'T. Went there at 7:40 pm. Their closing time was 9 pm. Plenty of time to enjoy hot pot, right? Got seated immediately. They didn't bring the dang food until 8:20. The skewers, I understand it takes time. But how about the rest? They didn't bring half the stuff we asked for. Then they said at 8:30 that it was the last call. Ordered a whole bunch, but again didn't bring half the stuff. I asked why they weren't bringing me the chicken wings. They said if they don't bring it, they had run out. The owner was lying thru his teeth. He and his family (or their friends) were eating on another table, and I saw his wife bring a heaping plate of chicken wings, while I was on my way to get some sauce. So obviously this outfit doesn't value customers as much as their own family. And he has the audacity to automatically charge a gratuity, as you can see circled in red. I tip 20% regardless of how bad the food is. But this was too much. The food was just so mediocre. Don't waste your time or money.
