Beautiful lobby and welcoming staff! It's so nice to have a good restaurant and bar onsite. Parking was a little sketchy, but it's downtown in a city so I guess that's expected. Everything seems like it COULD BE great! Except that masks weren't being enforced AT ALL despite there being a ton of people inside and apparently a local law. When I called before booking I was promised that masks were required--they aren't required if you don't enforce it, IHG! Also, I watched someone give herself an insulin shot in the lobby bathroom and just throw away the needle. I hope a cleaning lady doesn't get stuck! It's 2022 and sharps containers are only like $5. Masks are like 5 cents. Enforcing your own rules is free. I'd stay again if I knew they took communicable diseases seriously, maybe in a few years? It does make you wonder how serious they are about cleaning rooms...

Great rooms, comfortable and well appointed. We upgraded and had a beautiful view of the Mississippi. Daily breakfast was worth it. They have a nice lobby, hallways and parking are very industrial. Service was excellent during the day. One night I was treated rudely when asking for a corkscrew? Could've been 5 stars but the poor night service bothered me. I will still go back, well worth another try.

Let me start by saying the staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful! The rooms were nice. Dining was good but pricey as per hotel dining. Vallet was a must as per construction if you're not a local. Our stay was a brief but overall pleasant one!

I recently injured myself and was traveling solo with crutches and a scooter. Things were pretty hard to manage but an employee (Girma) went above and beyond before I even stepped inside. He made sure I was able to easily get to my room and then made sure I had absolutely everything I needed before he left. I have never had someone at a hotel show that much care! The space itself was nice, the bed was so comfortable and the views were great. Parking is tough so just be aware. Would recommend staying here if you’re in St. Paul!

My review is specifically in regard to the booking process for businesses. We have staff stay at various hotels in the area quite frequently. My latest experience with booking at this hotel by direct billing was AWFUL. I called the hotel directly as a call-center usually requires a credit card for reservations. The front desk placed me on hold for 3 minutes, transferred me to the call-center, then I was placed on hold for another 7 minutes, and then the line disconnected! I called back at a later time as maybe the hotel was really busy or something but I was put through the same treatment. After being on hold for another 11 min total, I gave up. Why is it that no one could help me make reservations with direct billing? I have never encountered this issue before, what a debacle! I called another hotel and our staff was booked for a room with direct billing in under 4 minutes, as it should be. What a poor reflection of the hotel's operations, I wouldn't want to subject our staff to that treatment in-person so I made notes on our company's hotel vendor list to NOT book here again. Why go through the hassle when there are so many better, more efficient, options in the area?

The room was small and a bit awkward of a floor plan. If someone was in the bathroom with the door open it was almost impossible to enter the room. The closet was behind the entry door and bathroom door. Had to have one or both closed to get to the closet. The room was always a constant 70 some degrees even with the thermostat turned way down and the window slats open all night in the winter. Didn’t even use the top sheet on the bed it was so warm. The beds were firm but comfortable with the typical fluffy but non-supportive hotel pillows. The website photos of the rooms were a little misleading. A lot of the photos seemed to be of larger rooms or corner rooms with beds facing large windows. We were here for one night with a Groupon discount so I guess I can’t complain too much about the room. As for the bar, when we went there for some cocktails after dinner the staff was very inattentive. It was new years and the bar wasn’t even that full. Drinks were strong so you get your moneys worth at least. Didn’t get any food ourselves but the food we saw around us did look pretty good. Someone ordered the cheese curds I think and they came out in a fairly nice sized pile. Unless we had another discount or could guarantee a river view corner room like you see in the photos I cannot say we would rush to come back.

I was so disappointed! In Atlanta, the Intercontinental is one of the nicest hotels and I’m an ambassador. When I arrived, these pictures show what I arrived to. I was only there for 3 days and would be at work so I wasn’t expecting the most but bugs in on bed, bugs in my tub and just feeling like I was given the worst room ever! The staff made up for it and my stay was good after but I expected so much more! Thanks to the staff that allowed me to move! This won’t be my first choice next time I’m here!

I had a wonderful stay. I got into the city very early but I had breakfast which was delicious and the staff got me checked when they could. I was in town for a friend's birthday party and everyone was very accommodating. The only downside was that I attempted to print of my boarding pass for the bus and the printer would not work yet I was still charged for the internet use and copies I never actually received.

Great staff and very nice rooms. Huge bathroom! A robe. Great view. Room service even that was so gracioys. The front desk, the room service, and the maids were all so kind and accommodating. Very good humored. I decided to book a second night and it was super easy to stay in my room, I left a service please sign on the door when I went down to the conference I was there for and came back to a room that looked like I had just checked in. They were very cool with allowing me late checkout when I overslept which made my morning way less stressful than it might have been. It was a lovely stay.

We started off with a bit of a disappointment when we checked in, the room had a few different maintenance issues however Chris at the front desk did a fantastic job at moving our room and getting everything settled! He made our stay completely turn around for the better! I must mention Todd a wonderful bartender that made our mornings such fun with great conversation and awesome food at Citizen located in the hotel. All the staff we ran into were just wonderful! Easy to find location but valet parking only and the parking is not on-site if you are in your own vehicle. Handicap accessible as the main entrance is located on ground level and elevators are available for all guests.

Stay away from this place! It all started when me and my wife walked in and noticed the front desk staff employee coughing aggressively in her hands. I looked past this but was very careful to sanitize my credit card and ID after she handled it. Then we got to our room with a stunning view of the parking lot. After asking for another room, we were given one on the same floor but this one had an amazing view…seriously this time. The following were the issues we had with the room. -The room was dirty (see pics) -Many maintenance repairs needed -Water damage on ceiling -Unknown stains on walls -No heat at all -Telephone didn’t work -Popcorn on the floor -No fan in bathroom -Dusty We’ve stayed here and have never experienced this before. I’ll never stay here again, no matter what. When we checked out and explained how disappointed we were, we were told they couldn’t credit us an evening’s stay because we didn’t give them a chance to “fix” the problems. Gave us 10.000 points for our inconvenience which isn’t enough for a nights stay at any IHG property. Do yourself a favor and don’t go…ever.

I stayed here for a few nights in October, 2022 while attending a conference. The hotel was clean and the staff were welcoming and pleasant. My room was gorgeous with a panoramic corner view of St Paul. The bed and pillows were sooooo comfortable, and everything in the room was clean and odorless! I really enjoyed the time I spent in my room and would stay here again and again.

Great location on the river with exceptionally friendly staff. The river views were very nice but the hotel interior was dark, very tired and in need of updating. Other than the desk chair there was no other seating in the room. When I informed the staff that our room had no chair they though it was odd that there was none and told us that they would look into it. We never got the chair. The hotel parking garage was an adventure. The ceilings in the garage were so low that they did not allow vehicles over 5'9" to enter. The lighting in the garage was terrible. I felt like we were parking in a cave. Next time in the area I think we will try another hotel.

I travel quite a bit and have stayed at a lot of hotels and this hotel has the best service of any location I have ever stayed at. Two quick examples: We had forgotten our phone chargers in our vehicle so I called down to the front desk to see if anyone had forgotten one and left one in the "lost and found". The front desk instead had the valet go out to our car retrieve the chargers and deliver them right to our room. Secondly the hotel has a small breakfast and the staff member that worked at the breakfast remembered my children's names and what they enjoyed eating. The personal attention was far above and beyond what typical hotel service entails.

Recently stayed at this hotel, and what a lovely experience it was. Conveniently close to many St. Paul venues, the hotel overlooks the Mississippi River, with access to the paved trail down by the river. The staff was super friendly, professional and eager to make our stay fabulous. There is a restaurant, with breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with bar located off the lobby. The food was very good, fairly priced and the wait staff, extremely friendly and professional. Beds were very comfortable, with good linens. Would absolutely stay there again!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful with exceptional services. The staff were very attentive to details, professional, personable and energetic. Their smiles were warm and welcoming like the gorgeous junior suite. The scenery was breathtaking despite the frozen riverfront and bone chilling cold. There was a sense of art about it. Thank you to everyone who made my stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel if you were to visit downtown St. Paul, MN.

I’ve stayed here a few times but will not again moving forward. Pros: friendly staff, good restaurant, clean room, close to the Xcel Center. Cons: they now force you to use valet service if you want to park in the garage and it’s a whopping $32 a night (so add that onto whatever deal you think you’re getting!). The valet service was extremely slow and inconvenient (albeit very friendly). It was in no way helpful at all. In the past, guests could use the garage which makes this even worse- we totally did not expect this and the change wasn’t made clear on their website. The fridge barely stayed cold and I’m a breastfeeding/pumping mom who needed a cold fridge. We ended up keeping my milk in our cooler, which stayed far colder. It was inconvenient and stressful. They attempted to fix it when we arrived but it still barely worked. Another big con: our room was never serviced over 4 days. The first day, we didn’t leave until 12:00 pm so we figured we left too late but the following day we left at 10:00 am and were gone until the evening. When I called to say my room wasn’t serviced and to ask for more towels, the front desk was terse and did not apologize and sent up only 1 bath towel. We were unimpressed. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. Not very high end! The valet thing alone will prevent us from staying here again.

This hotel was very nice! The view from the room was beautiful but the room walls were a little thin because I could hear the people in the other rooms and we were placed right next to the elevator. That did not bother me but it is just something that should be known. We got back from the Wild game around 11:00 PM and we were hungry so we ordered room service and they were so sweet considering they closed at 12:00 AM and the food was delicious! The only complaint I had was that the valet parking situation was confusing when we first arrived because there is not a lot of spots to park and wait, but this was my first time there so now I know for the future. It is in a great location for walking to the xcel energy center or the restaurants in the area!

Had a beautiful view from our room, the staff was fantastic I had a fun time with housekeeping leaving fun notes and treats everyday, they did an exceptional job cleaning everyday ! There was a lot of construction around the building the mornings were a bit noisy but overall it was comfortable with lots of amenities and a great coffee shop down in the lobby .

We stayed 2 nights over Thanksgiving. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable with nice bedding. Every was really great. My only complaint would be my 88 year old mom was cold the first night and so wore more clothing the second night. You don’t seem to be able to adjust the thermostat. I will definately be back.

We were not impressed with this hotel. When we arrived, they were having elevator issues so they took us to our room in a service elevator. The next morning, the elevator was not working and there was no one around to assist so I took the steps nine floors up to my room. When we got to the room, the first thing we noticed was the room was a bit dated and the furniture/cabinets showed significant wear. On day one, the room was a bit cool, but not terrible. We adjusted the thermostat and left. When we came back, it was still cool and we realized the heating/cooling unit was not doing anything. When we left for the next day, we let the front desk know. When we arrived back at the hotel that evening, it was quite warm in the room so it was clear the heater was working. We thought the thermostat was just set too high. We turned it down and left for a bit. We arrived back at the room and it was even hotter. It was clear the heat was stuck on high and the thermostat did nothing. Since it was late, we were forced to sleep in the room that was 80+ degrees. We did eat at the restaurant for breakfast. Prices were ridiculous ($5 for a cup of coffee) for mediocre food.
