I’m
giving
Heavy
Smoke
a
5
star
review
because
this
is
darn
good
barbecue.
They
obviously
know
how
to
cook
meat
properly.
This
is
competition
style
barbecue
which
doesn’t
offer
a
ton
of
unique
flavor
but
it’s
very
well
cooked
meat.
It’s
a
little
safe.
Look,
I’m
a
KCBS
Certified
Judge
and
this
is
darn
good
barbecue
but
nothing
record
setting.
And
I’ve
eaten
barbecue
all
over
the
USA
and
this
is
not
in
my
top
5,
but
it’s
still
good.
The
burnt
ends
are
very
good,
but
I
like
mine
KC-style
with
more
of
a
candied
glaze.
These
are
really
good
hunks
of
brisket
and
their
white
sauce
(heavy
horseradish
style,
not
Alabama
style)
pairs
really
well
with
their
burnt
ends.
The
ribs
were
very
well
cooked.
Not
fall
of
the
bone
(which
means
overcooked),
these
are
properly
cooked
with
a
little
pull
and
good
tenderness.
But
underwhelming.
They
need
more
seasoning
to
really
be
top
of
class.
Better
ribs
can
be
found
at
Memphis
Barbecue
Company,
Central
Barbecue,
or
17th
Street,
but
these
are
still
darn
good
ribs.
The
tots
are
very
good
and
super
crispy
with
good
seasoning.
However,
the
beans
are
seriously
underwhelming.
Just
not
enough
unique
flavor
or
style.
They
aren’t
from
a
can,
I
don’t
believe,
but
they
need
some
meat
and
seasoning
to
make
them
sing.
Overall,
this
is
darn
good
barbecue,
as
good
as
any
in
St.
Louis,
and
the
meat
was
very
well
cooked,
so
I
give
them
5
stars.
These
folks
know
how
to
cook
meat.
But
I
won’t
put
them
in
my
top
5
as
better
can
be
had
in
KC,
Memphis
or
Southern
Illinois.
