The FOOD is exquisite! This could hands down be a Michelin star restaurant if it were judged only on the food. The savory, sweet, salty, acidic, umami flavors with the textures of crunchy, soft, crisp, and juicy make for an intense eating experience with an explosion of flavors. I would love to return to this restaurant, hopefully when the same chef is working. Wow! 😋 Our server, unfortunately, put a damper on our experience as she was nowhere to be found during our meal and disappeared for 20 minutes after we were seated. After taking a bite of brunch the food deserves 10 stars, but the service took it down a few notches because it was significant. Others entered, were seated, ordered, and were served food while we waited to place our drink AND food order together, to avoid another long wait. We sat outside which was nice today. Parking is paid street parking, as it's downtown. The restaurant is on a corner with red awnings so it's a good location. The outside seating patio is very nice. We did not go inside but I would expect it to be very nice judging by the outdoor taste in decor. Prices were reasonable. I will return.

Excellent dinner, great service Happy New Year... welcome in 2022, we enjoyed our New year's eve dinner. The Carmel apple sangria was delicious, Red Mesa is a favorite for us. It is definitely a great place to eat , if you have never tried to eat there before you really need to go , they have excellent sangria, and all the food is excellent..they do have some spicy items. But it is an excellent place to eat.

Very rarely do I see a place do well in all areas. Service (5 stars) Luis, our server was amazing. Visited our table the right amount of times to make sure we always had water and were well taken care of. Not once did we ask “where is this guy?“ Food (5 stars) The food was outstanding. We ordered sweet plantains and empanadas, duck taco and steak taco as our appetizers, huevos rancheros and Palomilla as our entrees. Everything was outstanding, the portions were perfect, not too big, not too small, perfect amount. Ambience (5 stars) the bamboo, the water, the music, everything takes you to a very calm atmosphere where you can relax and really enjoy your meal. Amazing time. PS: even on windy days you can sit outside because there’s a big brick building adjacent to the restaurant that really protects from the wind. Cleanliness (5 stars) everything was very clean and well taken care of.

Met a longtime friend for dinner. This is not your old boring: taco, chimichanga, burrito, etc. This was amazing Mexican, super creative, super delicious. We started with blackberry margaritas which were beautiful and tasty. We ate in the outdoor area that had a fountain and some cool artsy items in the perimeter garden.

Very cool downtown tex-mex cantina a few blocks removed from Central Ave in St Pete. Nice outdoor courtyard seating with a fountain but we opted to sit indoors to enjoy the art and unique touches like the Mexican wrestling masks:) We tried the Pomgranate Margarita with duck enchiladas, blackened chicken salad and sweet potato-chorizo taco’s….all delicious. Our server was very pleasant and attentive with great suggestions.

Had a wonderful private event experience at Red Mesa Cantina on the Cantinita Terrace. A rehearsal dinner, 26 guests. It was beautifully set up, food was amazing, all guests commented on that, had a candlelit romantic decor/vibe going, and the staff was wonderful to work with. Highly recommend.

I'm really glad we found this spot on Yelp while we were in St. Pete because it was fantastic. We sat outside in their beautiful outdoor patio area. We tried: - Seafood Mofongo - Sweet Potato & Chorizo and Ahi Tuna Tacos - Duck Quesadilla I really loved everything. The one dish that stood out as my favorite was the Seafood Mofongo. It was my first time trying the dish and it was wonderful. I loved the plantains. The seafood was fresh and I wanted to drink the sauce. I couldn't recommend this place more when you're visiting St. Pete!

Always a pleasure eating here. The food is well prepared and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of outdoor seating - love the outdoor patio, and the heated bar area is great when it's chilly. We've eaten here many times and it's been great every time. Pictured are Chicken Fernandez and Seafood Mofongo. The sauce on the chicken is a bit spicy, depending on your level of heat tolerance - IMO it's 🔥 but my family says it's not (I have a pretty low tolerance for heat. Lol). Their fries are delicious as are their veggies - so tasty and tender/crisp. The Mofongo is amazing. Seafood is perfectly done, and so flavorful. 10 out of 10 for food, atmosphere, and service.

What looked like a rather basic place actually served some darn good food. I was very impressed with my seafood dish and my friend gave praise to the duck tacos. Pricing was fair considering the area and they have an excellent tequila selection.

Food was decent but we had a party of 4 adults and 2 children. Told us there was a 20-30 minute wait. We waited outside, freezing for an hour with 2 small children. Staff didn't seem to care after multiple inquires about the wait.

A fantastic place to eat for lunch or dinner. It's a little noisy on the inside. Be aware of where you're sitting. Everything was super delicious! The mofongo was awesome! Portions seem large. Next time I will get a la carte.

This place is amazing! Outside seating is definitely the way to go....excellent vibe! The nachos are perfect for two and the filet tacos have a great mixed of taste! Literally an explosion in your mouth.

Our server Samantha (aka "Sam I am") was on point with phenomenal service, and the food was amazing as well. The Dr. Pepper Ribs were these thing I've put in my mouth🤤 And Nikko was one of the friendliest person that we've met while vacationing in Florida❤ Can't wait to come back ASAP!

Without a reservation we were seated (on a Saturday night!) after about 25 minutes. Our waitress was attentive, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The margaritas are also delicious! We were able to sit on the rooftop bar. It was a perfect night!

Went here for dinner and had an okay experience. Our server was attentive and friendly. The portion sizes are pretty small for the prices. I ordered the seafood mofongo and it was served lukewarm. The margaritas were only okay. I expected more for the price and previous reviews.

Looks like a nice place to sit down for a meal, but we got carryout so I don't really know. The service was very quick and friendly. The food was not that impressive. I ordered the El Gordo burrito with pork. The pork was dry and the veggies inside the burrito were raw which I didn't think tasted right.

We found the Mexican restaurant on Google and I can say the food is delicious! Chips and dip were good, Morongo was amazing, honestly! All tge flavors just fo together. We got the baja tacos which were ok but the duck tacos is to die for,.so yum. The drinks were on point! They are extremely busy, great atmosphere, servers are so nice. I would come here again. A definite must try!

The decor and ambiance were awesome! My veggie quesadilla was delicious, my only complaint was that the cilantro rice I ordered on the side was lacking flavor and very dry. The guacamole was fabulous as well!

We had such an incredible meal! Our food was soooo amazing! Their margarita and drink selection was great too. Our server Laura was fantastic and made great recommendations! Cool environment too, would definitely recommend!

This was a wonderful find! Food was excellent and just the right portion size. The atmosphere is lovely for families with well behaved children, as well as a romantic date night. The 4 star rating is due to a $3/ drink 'preparation' charge because it was 'hand crafted.' The drinks were already $15/margarita (not frozen) so just make the drink $18 rather than surprising me with an extra $15 on my bill (for 5 margaritas) that I have to ask about. There was an automatic 20% tip charge for parties of 6+ but they did not charge a cc fee for a debit card or cc. Worth the visit just ask about hidden charges with regard to cocktails.

Had a great meal outside with a big fan on to keep us feeling comfortable. Food was great, drinks were tasty. Doubles were twice the cost, thought that was bit pricy, but the food was good prices for what we got.

This was probably the worst food I've eaten in a long time. It made my wife and I sick. This is not Spanish food by any means.

The restrooms were closed on the ground floor and inconveniently redirected to the 2nd floor. The outdoor atmosphere, however, is really good. The rustic iron fixtures with ample greenery and socially distanced seating is very appropriate. The food is ok...didnt have much to rate this.

My boyfriend and I attended a wedding here and it was beyond beautiful! The ballroom where the reception took place was amazing, the bartenders were AWESOME, and we had a blast. I would definitely come back here if we're ever in town again.

Great selection of tequilas, pretty good selection of whiskeys and bourbons. Food was fairly priced and really tasty- menu is vegan and vegetarian friendly. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and the bartender. Definitely will come back.

New favorite restaurant and we don't even live in Florida!! Everything from the service, atmosphere, and food was beyond fabulous! The ribs were the best my boyfriend and I had both ever had and the shrimp & crab quesadilla was delicious! Sam and Nico were the cherries on top and made our experience just that much better. We will be back!!

Excellent choice for a casual date night. The environment was clean and inviting. The food was fresh and made to order. The staff at the bar was engaging and friendly. The price point was reasonable considering we each enjoyed their signature dishes. Two tapas, two entrees and one hand crafted margarita for under $50 (excluding tip). Most definitely NOT a one and done. We look forward to returning with friends! 😉

Been coming here since 2017 - the duck tacos are to die for! Food is always A+, atmosphere is on point, and the drink specials have me coming back. Love this spot, highly recommend!

We loved this place. Food was excellent. Atmosphere is great. Staff was friendly, fun, and attentive. Prices were reasonable. Literally the only negative was our churro dessert was overcooked and hard as a rock.

We found this to be a great spot with nice outdoor seating, tasty food, good service, and a great value — and not just because we randomly dined during half price margarita night. The seared ahi tuna bowl was an unexpected find and really hit the mark. Fun night out that didn’t break the bank and didn’t make us feel like we were eating the rona.

I’ve never had a bad experience. Absolutely love their spicy margaritas. Everything I’ve tried from the food has been delicious. My favorite are the mushroom tacos, but all tacos are amazing. Also, the chips and guac is a must. Always friendly service. The outdoor area is very pretty and relaxing, whether during the day or at night. No matter where you decide to sit, you will enjoy it. If you go on a weekend I suggest a reservation.
