Cool hotel along popular beachfront area, perfect place to soak in the nightlife. Stayed here for work but this hotel is not geared necessarily towards that. Service can be spotty and quite a bit of road noise. Would be a nice stay for vacation.

The restaurant is at a great area. The Senior Manager was very kind and acknowledged me as I passed. It is a place I would recommend to spend time there. Michael Simon God bless you and the rest of your staff for a job well done.

Just wanted to give kudos to your establishment...we stayed over on Saturday night, and we were very impressed with everything. I would like to say that the ladies working at the front desk Saturday during the day were A M A Z I N G Z!!!! I feel that this should be the expectation, but it rarely is, in all businesses these days. The two were absolutely friendly, accommodating, cheerful, and helpful. I feel like they are the kind of employees that no matter what is going on with them personally, they would still always deliver exceptional service. Thank you!

The Ella to Amy Jazz experience was great. The band was great. It’s in a walkable location if you choose to do something else after. The price of food is a bit expensive for the quality. $25 for a cheese and charcuterie board that looked like it was tossed on the plate quickly, we had one cheese while other plates had more. our waiter wasn’t really around I went and got my own water and then he comes back with only 1 tall glass of water instead of 2. There was indeed 2 of us. The other waitress on the left side was actively stopping by her tables more so it really depends on where and who you have for table service

Food was great atmosphere was perfect. It only lost a star for us because our waiter was somewhere else. Meaning his head was not in the game. Quite a few really duh moments such as, no bread, no utensils for our desert, took our wine glasses without asking if we wanted wine only to have to bring them back, went MIA for a bit... Not a huge deal we will be back for sure.

Birchwood canopy is a must if you are visiting Saint Petersburg! Awesome staff, fast service, amazing menu for food & drinks! Rooftop views of the water & downtown Saint Petersburg. Plenty of seating with couches, private cabanas, high tables & a full bar.

Beautifully maintained and decorated rooms. Comfortable beds. High end complimentary toiletries. Nice black out curtains. Nice walking distance to the Blues Fest! My only complaint was my view was a wall.

The location is fantastic. However, we are consistently disappointed in the restaurant. There are so few healthy plant-based options. The Cruciferous is ok but dripping in oil and salt and there are zero options for brunch. Healthy vegans are stuck with a boring salad minus the cheese. As locals, we really want to support this place but with so few options it is difficult.

The location of The Birchwood is excellent! I used to love The Birchwood but recently had a bad experience. I went for dinner with a group of family on a Tuesday. We were seated in a nice private room, which was lovely, but the server tended to forget about us. It took sometime for him to get us waters and I had to ask the bartender for some water. Everything about the entire service was slow. I understand businesses are short staffed but the server pretty much ignored us during our time there for dinner. I usually tip 20% or more for good service but at The Birchwood a 20% service charge is automatically added to the bill.

Location is great. All staff that we encountered were 5 stars! My review is for the hotel itself and not the bars or restaurants. I’m writing this as I lay in bed awoken again at 7 am by noise from someone setting up tables in the courtyard. It appears that all rooms have windows to the courtyard so I’m not sure how to avoid the noise. Seriously can’t the table and chair dragging wait until 9 am?? *I asked at checkout about the 7 am noise and was told that the maintenance guy was setting up for the weekend. So it was absolutely not something that needed to happen on weekday early mornings. The front desk apologized but it’s still poor management to not make it a rule to not disturb guests before 9 am. I’m not sure about others but I don’t like to be woken up early when I’m on vacation. I found the beds to be comfortable. My issue with the room itself was not enough lighting in the bathroom and no light switches or lights next to bed.

The people were the highlight. From checkin to downstairs bar to restaurant wait staff to upstairs Canopy Bar, the people were super-friendly and attentive. For the price, we were left a bit disappointed. Our room (a Suite w balcony) smelled like smoke, although smoking is not allowed. Gave our sinuses some discomfort. Additionally, no room service ever came for cleaning. We called down for towels and water. No one came. Called later, and they kindly rushed everything up and apologized. Bed was comfy. The bathroom was nice but smaller. As you can tell, when booking, there is no fitness center nor pool. Need to go about a mile away for a good workout. The Canopy Bar on the rooftop is nice but extremely crowded in the evenings. Its location is nice for bay views and access to some delicious restaurants within a 3 min walk or less. It's about 1.5 miles from downtown. Overall, it has some awesome pros, especially when it comes to their people and location. The cons were more around housekeeping, room value for price, and amenities. If these were addressed, it would have been a much closer 5-star experience for us.

The room was the worst part. The windows don't fully close so you hear drunk people screaming at night, there was an enormous amount of dust behind the beds, the cups for water didn't look clean and I found a bug in one of them. The service is amazing, however and the location is very nice.

The rooftop deck at Birchwood is beautiful with best views of pier and shore. Ample shade and comfy seating options and a wide array of drinks. Crowd there is always eclectic and diverse which I appreciate as well.

It is a beautiful hotel in a great location. One bad thing is that it was very noisy at night. I think there was a wedding one night and they were really noisy. Otherwise the staff was great and we had a good time

Beautiful, Fantastic location, nice staff!! Just stayed at the Birchwood for my son's wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts and was thoroughly impressed with the staff, cleanliness, room size, decor and location. The staff was not only professional but also very helpful with our needs. For our event the location was absolutely perfect! We were able to walk to our different venues not to mention all of the restaurant options and things to do during our downtime. I would highly recommend if you're in the downtown St. Pete area and looking for a place to stay that you pick The Birchwood!!

I attended a candlelight concert put on by Fever. It was held in the upstairs ballroom and was a beautiful, unique experience. This is a must do if there is one playing when you are in St Pete. The Birch and Vine restaurant looks awesome. We enjoyed the bar and will come back to dine and check out the hotel. Definitely go to their rooftop bar before or after the candlelight event. Or for that matter, anytime you want to get an awesome view and enjoy the night air.

From start to finish, this hotel, bar and restaurant experience has been superb. Keith Stapleton, our awesome server, made our dinner experience fantastic, super polite, he provided great service, very attentive, and made great menu recommendations. Summer and Geoff were also great. Summer was super sweet and personable, she made awesome recommendations as well. Every single member of the hotel team, even the amazing team members that clean the rooms were very personable, attentive and friendly. One of the housekeeping team members asked us if we needed more towels just as a courtesy. The food was amazing, the rooms are clean, comfortable and beautiful. Everything this hotel has to offer is well worth the price of your stay! Highly recommend.

From the moment of check-in to the moment of check-out, The Birchwood was the most wonderful and perfect venue! We got married in the Grand Ballroom at The Birchwood on July 1st, 2023, and it was a day we will forever remember. Our ceremony was off-site but when we got back to The Birchwood, the Ballroom looked perfect! Grace and the entire Birchwood team made the night smooth between food service, dancing, toasts, and anything the night threw at us. Our 170 guests raved about the food, especially the Filet, and we had some picky eaters! We are still getting people saying how beautiful our wedding venue was and how much fun they had celebrating. Grace and her team worked perfectly with our coordinator, DJ, and florist to ensure the timeline was executed according to plan. We had some last minute changes with our guests and Grace was quick to respond to any requests and questions. I would highly recommend The Birchwood to anyone looking for a fantastic location with a hard-working team and incredible food. We can't wait to celebrate our future anniversaries at the hotel and 1st floor restaurant!

Good location. Nice lighting in the room and nice bathtub. However... First of all, they seem to offer a rooftop terrace which was a key usp for our booking, but turned out to be not accessible to underage, after 4pm. With our newborn this was quite a disappointment, because that's exactly the time you'd like to enjoy a cold drink on the rooftop and the reason we booked the hotel. Either be very clear about that or make it a rooftop restaurant or something. The worst of it all was the night - There was a lot of noise from outside getting into our room. Although there was a party on your rooftop, occupants should not be kept awake until deep in the night when paying over 250usd a night. Despite moving to a different room noise was still very loud. After the noise subdued in the middle of the night the bathroom fan was quite loud and unable to turn it off. The morning after the lady with the two ponytails was also very unapologetic and had a complete lack of diplomatic capabilities. She should really get a training in customer care and hospitality. They could at least have considered a discount or something similar for such a terrible night, but to no avail. I do note her colleagues were quite friendly and helpful nevertheless. We checked out earlier than planned and moved to another place (which was great).

I celebrated my birthday here. The food was great, but our server Emilie was fantastic. She was very attentive and pleasant. We had a wonderful dinner. Thank you, Birchwood, for a special date night.!

We ate lunch on the outdoor veranda. The Chicken & Waffles were excellent & our server, Javier, was wonderful. He was attentive & very professional. We enjoyed a great view of the bay & marina while eating.

What a disappointment! I invited business colleagues to have a Happy Hour inside the restaurant and we were seated in the bar lounge. Everything was average until a huge palmetto bug crawled up on me from my seat! My colleague across from me jumped up to help get it off of me and the staff only had this to say, " Yes, it has been raining a lot". Well, I hate to see what the kitchen looks like. Oh, and the 3 drinks that were ordered at that time were not comped. My first and last time there. Too many other great options in that area.

We stayed 1 night for a wedding at the Birchwood. Our king suite was very nice, linens were perfect, bed was comfortable, nice selection of snacks in the room (for a cost), AC worked well and there is plenty of room in the suites, the parking valet was convenient, and the breakfast that is provided was one of the best we have had that is not a sit down. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious.

We had drinks at the roof top bar, it was really nice. The view is great! The drinks were good! It was pretty crowded but that’s to be expected on a Friday evening.

  • 3/5 Andy W. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful rooms, large bathrooms but the noise outside the window, wow! All rooms have a window facing a narrow enclosed courtyard. In that area is the entrance for the hotel, the entrance for the canopy bar, and and an area used for special events. On a Friday or Saturday night there are lots of people having way too much fun so you better have ear plugs. Even with the windows closed it is very loud outside.

The atmosphere was fantastic. We had dinner and could see a beautiful light display right off the terrace. The server was extremely nice. We ordered an appetizer and a entree. The appetizer was very good but a little pricey. The presentation was very nice. I personally had the beef appetizer and my companion had the fish salad appetizer. Both were tasty. I had the pork chop entree which was delicious but a bit overcooked. The pork needed a steak knife and a little effort to cut. My companion had the Salmon which was nicely cooked and very tasty. The restaurant was very clean.

Bartenders are super friendly and the drinks came quickly. I had the old fashioned and it comes highly recommended if it is your type of drink. Was a great vibe to start our bar hopping journey in St. Pete!

Restaurant Hosts were pretty rude. They seemed like they didnt want to be there or annoyed or something. The host is the face of the restaurant, its a guests first impression. Smile at least. We made a reservation for 5, didn't get to sit in the dining room, we ended up leaving. We did get a drink with the server and he was very nice, the restaurant itself is very nice too.

We went in for a last stop food tour. Would love to stay here. The rooftop bar & sitting area was beautiful with gorgeous bay views. We had a slice of the pecan dessert that was delicious!

Awesome boutique feel hotel right in the mix for St. Pete waterfront. Great room for a fair price. Staff was courteous and professional. We will make this one of our more regular weekend getaway spots.

Rooms are a bit dark. We had a soaking tub which was amazing and the bed was pretty comfortable. My wife found it to be a bit firm though. We used the rooms to get ready for our wedding so the lack of lighting was a bit disappointing considering the $300+ per night price tag.

  • 4/5 Hilary S. 1 year ago on Google
Great location and cute boutique in a historic building. It’s within walking distance to numerous restaurants , museums, and parks. The room and bathroom were spacious. The rooftop bar is pretty at sunset. Some negatives are that the lighting is very dim and there is no privacy with the curtains open for light. Breakfast was basic and never changed throughout the week. The AC was very loud so bring earplugs.

My wife and I stopped by with our dog for lunch and were immediately treated like family by Peter our waiter who offered our dog a bowl of water and promptly took our drink orders. Peter was great and we thoroughly enjoyed his personality and recommendations. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was awesome although a bit hot outside in July. We will certainly come back.

Birchwood staff did a great job for us and our wedding! The Reception was outstanding and we had a blast! We got locked out of hotel room for one night but Pat did a great job looking into the issue and helping us out with another night so we could enjoy our wedding night. Thank you again and see you for the anniversary!

I held my 70th birthday celebration at The Birchwood and it was a phenomenal experience!!! My out-of-town guests stayed at the hotel and they were delighted with the unique rooms and the great location! The cocktail party was held at the Birchwood Canopy on the rooftop and the dinner party was held on the Side Terrace of Birch & Vine. The food, service and venues on the rooftop and side terrace all exceeded my expectations! All of my guests were blown away! The planning and details were handled by Birchwood's event coordinator, Alli Dame. Alli was the ultimate professional! She took care of every detail and handled everything beautifully! I wanted everything to be perfect and it was!! The Birchwood is a great location for an event and Alli Dame deserves high praise for pulling everything together! I would definitely hold another event at The Birchwood!

Our waitress had 10 tables and had no help. She did the best she could. We arrived to our reservation at 7:30pm and got our drinks at 8:30, we ordered our food at that time and received our food at 10pm.

Went here to their ballroom terrace for a wedding. Beautiful place for a wedding, includes free valet for quests and good food but traffic is an issue and make sure you plan your wedding according to what’s going on during that time downtown and not during a festival or any other event going on.

  • 3/5 Michael B. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful venue, rooftop is a vibe. Waitresses upstairs were caddy and not helpful. We weft without getting a drink due to the service interaction.

  • 2/5 Nash R. 1 year ago on Google
The place and room was nice but good luck sleeping on the third floor, you can hear everything under a rooftop club: loud music, talking, and the sounds of stuff dropping and people walking. The rooms are nice but don’t even try to sleep on Saturdays.

The concert was awesome! Recommend any of the Candlelight Concerts. The event at The Birchwood was exceptional. Outstanding venue, service and amenities. Highly recommend the concert series or a visit to The Birchwood. You won't be disappointed!

We went to The Birchwood for the first time, for a wedding reception. The staff, the coordinator the whole experience was amazing. Even on the rooftop with the reserved space- the entire staff made it an easy transition and we very accommodating. There’s only 5 stars but they deserve more than that! Great job ❤️

We went there to enjoy the roof top bar. Views were beautiful! They served interesting cocktails as well as beer and wine. They serve food as well. Staff was pleasant and attentive!

As a Wedding Planner, I'm thrilled when my couples choose a reception venue in a great location. I'm even more excited when the venue's staff is phenomenal! I want to thank The Birchwood, specifically Grace Summa (Special Event Coordinator) and her team, for their assistance in April! Chinelo & Anayo truly enjoyed their wedding reception! Thank you for everything!
