For over a decade, my wife, my best friend and his wife, have travelled to The Lodge at Sea Island for New Years to get the year started right. Going to The Lodge each year is like visiting family because from day one we have always felt welcomed and special, and about three years ago Blair came on board as the General Manager and elevated our experience even more! To add to the experience, Gerald, Jasmine, Zelda, Jim, Walter, Ron, Jeff at the Gate, Scott in the Men's Locker Room, Jeff in the Oak Room, Clyde and so many others have made it impossible for me to think of any place else in the World to spend New Years or any special occasion. I enjoy The Lodge so much that I celebrated my 50th Birthday there, introduced my daughter to the experience during COVID lockdown and plan to have my parents there for their 53rd wedding anniversary. I have so many special and wonderful memories at The Lodge from the past decade and plan to have decades more to add, thanks to my family at The Lodge. See you all soon ... What a beautiful place to celebrate our anniversary! This was our second trip to Sea Island, our first being last February when we stayed at the Cloisters. Wonderful accommodations in a magnificant building. On that stay we played golf on each of their 3 fabulous championship courses. Hence, the reason for our return trip 5 months later. On this trip we decided to spend three days at the Lodge, located right next to two of the three golf courses and adjacent to St. Simons Sound. The grounds were beautiful and the service exceptional. Our room overlooked the golf course and was spacious, beautifully decorated and included special touches to make us feel comfortable and pampered. The staff was very friendly and all seemed to know we were celebrating our 39th anniversary. In fact, one evening when we returned to the room there was a bottle of wine and a plate with 7- huge chocolate covered strawberries. Boy did my wife love that! What a nice touch to a beautiful evening. We had our anniversary dinner in their renowned steak house (Colt & Alison) and enjoyed a perfect meal with superb top shelf service. And - a surprised anniversary dessert! Remember to wear a jacket. I forgot mine and was given one to wear, in my exact size. The Lodge has a beautiful open seating area which resembles an old English manor. Each evening we sat outside and were entertained by their bagpiper who performs at sunset. Naturally, we got to play the courses again and as expected, they were in fantastic shape. Each course was pristine, with manicured greens, white fluffy sand and a green carpet fairway. Our stay was wonderful and I highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to stay in a Five-star award offering world-class accommodations and golf on three beautiful Championship courses. Until next time … Thank you, Sea Island Walt Karpowski

Pure decadence. Leather seats. Modern ammenities, yet an old world feel. Its like stepping back in time..but doing it with a level of class not seen in other resorts.

Beautiful location, and great amenities, but a couple details kept me from giving it 5 stars. The mattress in my room had a big divot in it, and when we asked for a little table to add to our meeting space (because they had 12 of us crammed together), they said they would get one, and they never did. We asked a couple times and one was always 'on the way', but never got there.

Impeccable! Every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, informative and professional. We had a wonderful lunch in the Oak Room and toured the recently renovated patio dining area, private dining room and Colt and Alison Dining which are all stunning!

This is the premier place to stay at Sea Island, especially if you are playing golf. Rooms are large with comfortable beds and sizable baths. The staff make your stay more perfect with service and helpful attitude. Always friendly! We look forward to our Southern Seniors Golf Association returning in 2025!

What an excellent high end experience. The bed was rough but it was definitely a 5 star experience all the way. Complimentary BMW’s are the highlight. The spa was awesome.

We were looking to book a Sea Island stay and were deciding between the Cloister and the Lodge. We decided on the Lodge based on the proximity to the golf courses (overlooking). Upon entering, you are immediately transported into a world where your every need is met. The staff is friendly, attentive and every member of the staff is invested in making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Every staff member goes out of their way to assist you in any way possible. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and spacious. It was cleaned twice a day with evening turn down service. I am extremely picky about hotel rooms and cleanliness and there was not one negative thing to say about the luxurious room. The one thing I want to note is the DELICIOUS warm cookies and cold milk that are served nightly at your request. We looked forward to it almost every night of our stay! We took part in the following activities: Pickle Ball at Retreat, golf at Retreat, Seaside and Plantation, as well as Shooting School, Golf Performance Centerand Beach Club. Everything was phenomenal at EVERY location and met the high standards for customer service EXCEPT at the Beach Club. To be honest, the least favorite part of our entire trip was going to the Beach Club. It was chaotic, noisy, not super clean, and the service was subpar compared to the Lodge. The 5 miles of private beach was nice, but there are better beaches. Upon our check out, we were able to stay at the resort and enjoy all amenities for the remainder of the day. The Butlers took care of everything- storing our luggage, directing us to the locker rooms to store our essentials so we could shower before we departed. We were in no rush to leave, and they were in no rush to see us leave. True Hospitality! If you want a luxurious vacation in a fabulous hotel where every staff member is happily attending to your family's needs, this is the place for you!

Old world luxury with very good service. Colt & Allison was delicious. Continental breakfast, not so much. The courses are impeccable. The bag pipe player adds a perfect touch. For most, it would be 5 stars, but it's a tad bit pretentious and, although they try hard, still feels like they're working through how to provide 5 star service. Again, not for a lack of trying. I would highly recommend The Lodge.

Booked the 3 round package at each of the courses. Seaside first then Plantation and then Retreat. Seaside was in great condition but the round took nearly 5 hours. Plantation was in similar condition but took 5 hours. Retreat was not in great condition and was slower through 9 so we quit. Beautiful hotel but will not be back. Play is simply too slow. There should be no 2-balls and 12 minute intervals.

Absolutely fantastic! Had dinner at Colt and Alison. Our waitstaff was outstanding. Travis was personable and attentive to our needs. The mashed potatoes and steak were tasty. We golfed the next day and it was beautiful and educational. We learned a lot about the land, my ancestors and the owners of the Cloisters. An amazing place!
