Excellent Portuguese restaurant. Among the best in Montreal! Food is really good and is prepared with high quality ingredients! It is on the high end side and the prices follow, however it is really worth if you like Portuguese cuisine. Ambience is also very nice and the service super efficient.

This is a seafood restaurant. As in, there is nothing but seafood on the menu. They were nice enough to prepare chicken for one of the people in our group though. The waiter explained that they keep a very limited supply of chicken on hand but it's not on the menu. I had the leek soup and the cod. The soup was nothing special and the cod was fine. Portions were fairly small and I left hungry. The people who ordered clams got 4 clams. I do like the atmosphere here. Even when it's full, it's quiet enough so that it's possible to have a conversation with the folks you went to dinner with. Service was professional and quick.

What a Montreal treasure ! Having just returned from Portugal in September, we were thrilled to be introduced to this restaurant by friends. From the start, the service was friendly and helpful. We had the mixed tapas to start, and all 4 of us were entirely satisfied. The bread, olives & beans, and soft cheese accompaniment were quickly devoured. We chose the fish of the day (one fresh Icelandic cod and the other a branzino). Both fish were pan-fried in a light caper & butter, were delicious and moist, and came with mashed potatoes, and grilled vegetables. The men had the bitoque steak meal and the salted cod plate. The bitoque was amazingly tender with a sauce so reminiscent of those in Portugal. Dessert was fantastic carrot cake and the "heavenly dessert" (nata do céu), and with coffee, they were the perfect end to our meal. Prices were above normal but everything is fresh, plentiful, and delicious. It was our first time, but we are hoping to return again for more flavors of Portugal 🇵🇹.

I have gone to Douro 2 times now and have been impressed both times. The food was really good. The customer service was also really good. The waiter remembered us from when we came a year ago. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some good quality Portuguese food. Good wine selection.

We had a light lunch and the food was fresh and hot. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was adequate if a bit inattentive. One problem was the Pastel de nata, which seemed to have been microwaved. I wanted to share mine but could barely cut it with a knife. So much for the flaky crust!

Food is very good. Atmosphere is very nice. Although the service was good and waiter was knowledgeable on all the dishes I felt that he was rushing us to order.

Not recommended. There are much better Portuguese restaurants in town. The clams had lots of sand in them. What was sold as grilled shrimps and calamari was a bunch of small calamari and ONE shrimp. The sea bass tasted old too.

We has a wonderful dinner last night. My first time at this restaurant. Yes a bit noisy at 8 pm, but it quieted down. I had a green salad, and a grilled beef filet ( thick and big size) perfectly cooked with potatoes and vegetables and a glass of red wine. My wife loved the lamb shank. Our friends had scallops appetizer, and their impressive seafood rice for 2 - a large porcelain casserole with rice , clams, oysters, lobster tails etc. Very reasonably priced at $75 for 2. Finished off the evening with their “heaven dessert”. A bowl with layers of custard, crushed cookies, egg cream. Sweet and delicious. Family owned and run. The men serving us were friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience and prices reasonable for an upscale restaurant.

My family and I have been coming to Douro for years. The family atmosphere, the quality of the food and wine, and excellent service make it a home away from home.

I took my uncle there after he got out of the hospital. He has Parkinson’s and is more than mildly autistic. We were not dressed for the evening, but the staff made us feel at home. They answered all of his questions with patience and empathy. The food was wonderful, But more than that we were made to feel comfortable, welcome, and appreciated. It is a fantastic place where you can eat top quality food, be treated like family, and pass une soirée très agréable.

I am so disappointed. Just wanted to have a great dinner with a good friend but from the beginning the waiter who was there when we entered showed us an immediate rejection, his attitude towards us looked like we were a disturbance; he was extremely cold and ignored us completely. So we decided to give him another chance and he kept ignoring us for more than 10 minutes, so we decided to politely leave the place whiteout saying anything and he didn’t care at all. My impression is that he just has a job and he doesn’t understand how difficult it is to maintain a business, and he doesn’t know how to behave with customers. For sure I will never try to go back to this place. Maybe someone else can have a different experience but I felt like the waiter judged us quite negatively from the beginning to the very end and was militantly disagreeable. We have done absolutely nothing that would deserve us such a treatment.

My favorite Portuguese place in Montreal, it's cozy and classy, a bit pricy but worth it to pamper yourselves and service is really good (you feel it's family owned/run) , highly recommend

Amazing seafood. I have been to the resto 3 times in a few weeks to try all of the plates. Beautiful fish, beautiful Paella. The sardines also blew my mind!! Would strongly recommend for any Pescatarian diets, Portuguese lovers or ANYONE! 🤗 Oh and the wine options were great.
